Canal Park Lodge

Nice hotel, great location. Just a few minutes walk to the lift bridge. Rooms were nice, although a little small. Breakfast was great. You can walk right out the back door to Lake Superior. The indoor pool and hot tub were very nice. Will stay here again.

My mom came in from out of town for my son's second birthday. She was adamant about swimming with my son, so she chose this place for the view and the indoor pool. Both of which were great. Indoor pool temp was a bit low but still enjoyable. The staff were super friendly, and the breakfast in the AM was included and scrumptious. The price was cheaper than some hotels of less reputation, they let us extend reservation at same price. We had to switch rooms, but they allowed us an early check-in, so we didn't have to wait for one to become available. On the second night, my stepfather had an emergency and had to be rushed to the ER. Staff were super helpful in keeping my mom calm assuring them everything was going to be okay. Getting the ambulance and the first responders to the right place. Above and beyond. My mom was so thrilled she will always stay here (which is a big thing for a bargain hunter). Location could not be beat so easy to get to and get out of. Close to all the cool things in canal Park and central to everything you can do in the twin ports.

This place was stellar!! Right on the edge of canal park, we asked for a room with a balcony and a view. Beds were very comfortable, employees super friendly and accommodating and breakfast was the best we've ever had at a hotel nation-wide! There were hot eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, toast, yogurt, hash browns and a multitude of drinks! Lake Superior was in front of the hotel along with a boardwalk. And the town just across the street! Highly recommend this cozy place.

This was my second visit to Canal Park Lodge. The organization I work for holds a conference up there every spring and we just wrapped up yesterday. This is one of the best places to stay in Duluth, it's right on Lake Superior, the rooms are large with deep bathtubs which is amazing. If you get a room on the odd side of the building you'll have views of the lake. Becky is the person we work with and she is amazing, always treats us with excellent care. Her staff are equally attentive. I really enjoyed meeting Natalie and Willie on this trip. I would definitely recommend that you stay there if you're in Duluth. This location is close to a lot of places to eat very walkable and things are not too far away.

Had a great time here with our boys, ages 6 & 9. Friendly staff, decent free breakfast and lots of spaces to spread out. This hotel actually looks like the photos in person, it’s clean and well-maintained! I also appreciated the little things, like playing 90s cartoons on the TV at breakfast instead of depressing world news. 😄

The staff at CPL was incredible. They upgraded our room for a milestone birthday, but more importantly, they were very helpful and professional. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, with beautiful finishings inside and gorgeous views outside. Breakfast was very good. The surrounding area was fun and convenient. Will definitely stay here again.

Was the perfect place to stay, close to everything in Canal park. The pool and hot tub were great after a long day. Breakfast was very impressive with many choices. Would definitely recommend to stay here

We came in town for a Christmas trip and had a great experience at the Lodge. It was walkable to the shops and restaurants in canal park, very easy to drive in and out to visit other areas in Duluth, and had nice rooms, okay breakfast, and friendly and helpful staff.

The lodge has a nice fireplace area and board games for borrowing. We really enjoyed our stay and played Duluth-opoly.

Breakfast includes served hot items: bacon, omelettes, scrambled eggs (alternative), hot tater tot dishes, pancake maker, toaster with bagels, cereals, and yogurt.

For a family getaway or a romantic vacation location. This is a place to check out. The view from the rooms is breathtaking. With in walking distance from several restaurants and shops. There is plenty to see or just enjoy sitting by an outdoor fire pit with friends and family as you wind down in the evening.

The location was perfect! With the best view of the Lake right from my balcony. Nice delicious waffles for breakfast with juice. Woke up early and sat near the water, so relaxing and peaceful. Room was clean and bed was comfy.

Nice room, friendly staff, and a decent free breakfast in the morning! We stayed in the king room with balcony and the view of lake superior was lovely! Nice bed with many pillows, a pull out couch, outlets on the lamps and a mini fridge.

We stayed here for a weekend and had a great time. The rooms are nice and we had a balcony overlooking Superior.

Fantastic breakfast with plenty of food. Lots of seating for relaxing both inside and outside on the patio.

Rooms were pretty quiet overall, but the doors shut hard so you do catch that noise from time to time. That's the only reason I gave the room 4 stars. I should point out that they had work being done on the roof and I couldn't hear that in our room at all.

We'll be back.

Located on the leading edge of Canal Park, this place has a great atmosphere. The staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. About the only negatives were the really deep tub and the bed could use an upgrade. All in all, great choice and wish we could have stayed longer.

Great free continental breakfast, rooms were lovely and clean. Very central location, walking distance to everything downtown.

We arrived in fog and rain for a special weekend with our family. The lodge is located in a very convenient location to walk to most places. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. The place was clean and the breakfast was plentiful and well organized.

Great experience and good breakfast. Always had good coffee and great customer service.
