Angela is a fantastic host! She made a delicious breakfast every morning, and engaged us in interesting conversation, discussing the history of the area and property. She is full of recommendations for food and entertainment if that is something you desire. We stayed in the Rhododendron Room and it was very nice. It had some modifications but maintained its historic charm. Our stay was very quiet and peaceful. The property is very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown Settlement, Jamestown Rediscovery and William & Mary University. My wife and I highly recommend it!

We discovered this place a year or so ago (see review below from that visit) and when we visited for a couple days last week, we were happy to find that our hostess Angela is as delightful as ever, Hank the dog still has a love affair with my wife, breakfast is still special (and don't hesitate to let Angela know if you have any special preferences or dislikes – she's always happy to accommodate personal tastes and requirements) and the premises are just as spotlessly clean and well-maintained as they were a year ago. This remains, in our book, one of the very best B&Bs we've experienced, and we B&B a lot.

Lovely BnB with historic charm. Angela was a fantastic host with lots of knowledge of the area and recommendations for activities and food. She also made amazing breakfasts every morning that kept us full and happy for the start of our day.
We stayed in the Primrose room which was beautifully kept and had great views into the gardens. We stayed in the summer and were comfortable the whole time.
A wonderful place to stay and just down the street from colonial Williamsburg and William and Mary campus.

Colonial Gardens was amazing for a weekend getaway! The host, Angela, was so kind and welcoming and made sure that your stay was wonderful. She made a homemade breakfast every morning and was even thoughtful enough to message us beforehand on allergies and preferences. We stayed in the Rhododendron Suite and it was so spacious and perfect. A coffee machine and complementary drinks were even in the fridge. There were updates throughout the room and bathroom , but pieces left from the original build that gave it that special charm. She even told us the history of the house which added to the stay. We will DEFINITELY be back. The grounds were beautiful and the house definitely had a quiet and cozy atmosphere because of the limited number of rooms that you just can’t get at big resorts. It was a great value for all that you receive.

Colonial Gardens is the most lovely Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed in!!! Angela was an EXCELLENT host. Everything was SPOTLESS, normally I am very cautious about cleanliness, but I felt extremely comfortable. The food was amazing, host incredible, and house SPECTACULAR!!!

Our stay and wedding at Colonial Gardens was
amazing! It was perfect for the size of our wedding. About 20 people. From the rooms to the service we had a great time. The owner was kind and helpful
throughout our stay and wedding. Everything was
planned out and communicated in advance. The
property is beautiful and well taken care of. The rooms were spacious and clean. Items were provided like towels, soaps, and even refreshments in the rooms. The location in Williamsburg was great and close to CW. All of our guests were happy with it. I would recommend to anyone!

We spent 3 nights while visiting William and Mary. Check in was super easy and our accomodations for 3 were spacious and comfortable. The home is beautiful and our hostess was so gracious and helpful!
We will definitely be back to experience more hospitality at this level. Thank you for a wonderful introduction to Williamsburg!

My wife and I do a lot of traveling, frequently staying in B&Bs, and this place has set a new standard for us, both in facility and host. The place was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast set a new standard. But the real treat was our hostess, Angela. Friendly, gracious, knowledgeable of the area, just an absolute pleasure to get to know. Thank you for that wonderful final weekend of our vacation. Oh, and be sure to give Hank a skritch under the chin. Kathy considers her time with Hank (a really friendly, vocal basset hound, but those who are not into dogs needn't worry – you might not even know he is there if you don't request his presence) the highlight of our two-week vacation. :)

We are currently staying here, we’ve never stayed in a B&B and this first experience is going to be hard to beat! We have coined the owner, Angela, as momma Angie, she’s literally the sweetest person you will ever meet! The rooms are clean, the breakfast is amazing and the atmosphere is so cozy and feels just like home. We plan to stay here any time we visit!

Elizabeth, The Inn Manager, was exceptional. Friendly, authentic and very helpful. Made our stay relaxing and completely comfortable. Great rooms and very stress-free trip. Centrally located for convenience. Very accommodating for special dietary restrictions. Linens best I've ever experienced (this coming from someone with extensive 5-star travel experience and extremely sensitive skin)! Most restful nights of sleep I've had in a bed away from home. Thank you Karen for your wonderful taste and going the extra mile with your choices in furnishings and decor. Fresh flowers and filtered water in the rooms are a beautiful touch.

Incredibly clean and neat rooms, delicious breakfast, and friendly staff! The inn is only a few minutes from the downtown area, which was perfect for us. My husband and I spent most of our stay touring the colonial area. Tons of great restaurants and shops nearby too, the innkeeper had quite a few recommendations. We would definitely stay again

This B&B was exceptional! We stayed in the Azalea suite and found the room charming and quite comfortable and quiet. Katie was a fantastic host and made us feel quite welcome. The B&B is in a great location for seeing the area, and we found that the entire atmosphere was geared to relaxing. Check out the breakfast menu online... it was delicious!

The other 5 star reviews say almost everything but I'd like to add that it was the small details that made the difference. We arrived to find the small inn empty but the door open, (flame less) candles flickering, relaxing music playing in the sun room, a bottle of chilled white wine (honor system contribution) and a personalized welcome note to our small group of six people inviting us to select our rooms. All the rooms were spacious and beautiful with high class linens on the bed. In the bathrooms toiletries were provided and the towels were also high class. The breakfast was fresh cooked by Karen the inn keeper and included home baked pumpkin spice bread. Coffee was fresh brewed and free flowing from elegant silver coffee pots. Our whole group agreed it was one of the best B&Bs we'd ever stayed in and we would absolutely recommend it

My husband and I recently eloped here. We couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out. The bouquet that was made for me was beautiful and the cake was delicious, my expectations were definitely exceeded! The room was nice, clean and cozy and the innkeeper was so friendly but still gave us our space as we relaxed all day. We were even able to eat breakfast in our room. Great location too, near many stores and restaurants. Definitely recommend this elopement package to couples who want stress free but romantic nuptials.

Incredibly clean rooms and common areas, wonderful staff and service. My wife and I really enjoyed the breakfast as well. Every day the staff cleans the rooms and leaves chocolate on the bed, refills the bottle of water, replaces the glass ceiling glasses and refreshes the towels. CG B&B also has local wine available in the sun room. Finally, the location is very close to anywhere you'd want to be in Williamsburg. I hope we get an opportunity to go back!

Very nice place. Elizabeth made us feel right at home. My wife and I had never been to a bed and breakfast before. We have always stayed at hotels in the past, but we would definitely stay here again. The bed was comfortable and the food was great.

This was the first B&B I have stayed at. Colonial Gardens not only went above and beyond but the atmosphere from the location takes you to a different location. Karen and Krystal wee so polite and upbeat they were a breathe of fresh air. They accommodated me and my husband to a level that I would never get from a Hotel stay. I have been converted. Clean, romantic, uplifting just a great place all together.

I stayed one night at the Colonial Gardens the day after Christmas. From check in until driving away, everything was absolutely perfect. It's so pretty! The main house areas were pristine, cozy and beautifuly decorated. Elizabeth was so welcoming and made us feel at home. I booked the largest room, the Azalea suite. The ambience was romantic, the bed super comfortable and the fireplace was a wonderful touch. The next morning we were treated to an amazing breakfast, and had great conversation with fellow travelers. I didn't want to leave. If I'm ever in Williamsburg again, there is no doubt in my mind, I will absolutely be staying here.
