"You can please most of the people, most of the time" -Rodney Futrell
I say this even though our goal is to please all, an unattainable goal. I am not speaking for this business but coming from a business perspective. With that being said, my wife and I had won a vacation package and we chose Vacation Village of Williamsburg VA. We received this offer via a marketing strategy at the North Carolina State Fair a while back.
This was not a vacation with no strings attached, they made it clear that we had to spend time to be given a presentation. Our reservation was for Sunday the 3rd and Monday the 4th of March.
I read some of the reviews and felt a need to put my 2 cents in. This team is top notch. They are very professional and courteous. The check in was easy and we were greeted friendly. The accommodations met and exceeded our expectations.
The presentation team is to sell, our job is to know what we can afford. The team was respectful and we hopefully did the same knowing that the presentation could be 4 hours in duration.

Met with Park Jenkins who was an amazing salesman. He was knowledgeable and fun. He made the 2 hour presentation worthwhile. The only reason we didn't buy was because we already have Wyndham. Check them out. It's worth your time.

My sister has time share here, and we happened to get the more renovated rooms for our stay. The rental was amazing! I love the appliances were up to date and everything was nice and clean. I would recommend them renovating the older units to bring them up to current renovations.

I wish we could have stayed longer there's so many amenities to enjoy. But overall the room were comfortable. The only thing is the beds could be more comfortable, they were a little too firm

The rooms are nice and spacious. Mine had a half kitchen with cook top, microwave, dish washer, coffee pot, blender, and refrigerator and freezer with ice maker. Dining table seats 6 and living room sits 5 comfortably with a pull out sofa sleeper. 2 bedroom 2 bath and a whirlpool tub. Very clean and quiet. I really enjoyed my time exploring the area and then having a comfortable place to stay and relax at night. Outdoor pool and indoor pools on site are nice and large. 2 hot tubs as well. This is a must stay at location!

Hi! My husband and I just stayed the weekend here from Jan 20 to Jan 22 because I had won a 3 day and 2 night stay. At first I was worried about this being a potential scam because they asked for $99 over the phone (which we got back later in the form of a gift card plus an additional $50), however my husband and I decided to go along with it anyway despite learning we would have to go to a timeshare presentation.

Upon arrival, we were greated very friendly by all of the staff. Check-in was quick, easy, and helpful. The staff provided us with any information we needed about the presentation and the area. They also recommended restaurants and places to visit in the area. I'm from Virginia Beach (now located in Elizabeth City), so I frequent Williamsburg often.

Below I will break the review into two pieces...the presentation and the room.

THE TIMESHARE PRESENTATION EXPERIENCE:

Our timeshare presentation appointment was scheduled at 8:15AM. We were fine with this because we figured we'd do the "quick" hour and a half/two hour presentation then get along with our day. Much like many other reviews, ours ended up being around 3 hours long. For myself, this wasn't really an issue besides getting a bit hungry. Our presenter, Mr. Weaver, was a kind man who offered us snacks and coffee throughout the presentation. He was very personable and the type where you can tell that this is what he loves to do. He explained a bit about himself like how he grew up in Hawaii and lived in Japan and is scheduled to get married in New Zealand. Traveling is clearly his passion and it shows. He made sure to emphasize that there was no pressure to buy and overall he did a good job at that. He also did an excellent job with the presentation.

The information was clear and very appealing. The only issues were of ourselves and that we are a fairly new married couple who paid for their own wedding, had all cars break down at the same time, and have a mortgage already. We are young and just not in a solid place for a vacation property opportunity like this quite yet.

When it came to making us an offer, a second man was brought in and I think this made my husband panick. (This is our first time going to something like this and we really only did because of the trip we won) my husband immediately got up and said we weren't interested....which I admit was a bit aggressive. I made sure he knew that and made him apologize to Mr. Weaver. We do understand these men were just foing their jobs and taking "no" as an answer isn't really accepted. Both men gave us great offers, but again....now just really isn't the time for us.

We met Mr. Weaver back at the office and received our free prizes like promised. Despite Mr. Weaver telling us there was no pressure multiple times, we felt bad for declining to buy. We really liked him and everything presented & ultimately it just really sucked disappointing everyone.

THE ROOM:

We headed back to our room afterwards. It was very spacious. 2 bedrooms, a large barhroom with a huge jetted tub, a kitchen, a living room w/ a fireplace, and a balcony. It did smell newly painted so it was a bit harsh on the nose, but we got used to it. Our room had older appliances -- which doesn't really matter to us. We hardly us the kitchen when on vacation/away. If it was more of an extended stay....I could see it potentially being an issue, however everything worked so we were indifferent about it. We won the trip so we figured we wouldn't be in the newest model anyways.

The beds, like a few others have noted, are a bit hard but I personally slept pretty well in them. I think it's because the pillows were so nice.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED MY VACATION HERE. The outdoor pool is beautiful! It pretty big and goes to about 5 feet, same with the indoor pool. Indoor pool also has a hot tub..gym was good! The lounge has free coffee which was great (bold decaf, regular decaf, bold coffe, and regular coffee. loved the jacuzzi in the rooms. Walking trails in the trees was so pretty!! ♡ basketball court/tennis/volley ball..rooms were nice, but I have had better. Over all I rate this place a 5 star!

I am an owner (time share owner) at this resort, and wanted to add to this some info about other people's negative reviews of this wonderful establishment - in hopes it might help other customers.

I have seen customers complain about the fireplaces and washer/dryer units in the rooms, the hot tub by the pool, the service, the linens, and everything else under the sun.

This (in my opinion) is the finest and best resort I have ever stayed in! There are 3 types of fireplaces (depending on which unit you get) - some have good ol' fashioned wood fireplaces (which DO work, and they even provide a small stack of wood outside on the patio when you arrive), some have gas fireplaces, and some have electric. The electric fireplaces have a switch on the wall you have to flip to make it operational, then switches on the fireplace itself to choose if you only want the "ambiance" fireplace lighting, or heat as well. The people who write negative reviews on this are either unfamiliar with how an electric fireplace actually works, or just being difficult for the sake of being "one of those people" (being difficult for the sake of being difficult).

Someone complained about their being no washer/dryer. Well, they do have one. It is a shared washer/dryer - usually found on the 2nd floor next to the "B" unit, and info about it is fully provided in the welcome information they give you.

There is a hot tub next to the indoor pool, in which the "jets" are temporarily out of order, unfortunate - yes, but maintenance happens, and leaving negative reviews based on it are simply unnecessary. Every single unit has a large Jacuzzi bath tub in it that will easily accommodate two people, with jets that work amazingly (and are perfect for married couples on their honeymoon, or children who just want to have a large tub to play around). My kids LOVE IT (and so do my wife and I 😉). My wife has frequent muscular spasms, and soaks in it quite often. Just put hot water in it - and, instant hot tub! (And a PRIVATE one, to boot!)

We own a 2-unit (time share) here, which means we own both the A and B units. There is a very nice staircase with hanging chandelier between the two units, and it feels quite "grand" to stay in a place so luxurious! We love it so much here, we have decided to stop exchanging our resort time, and just take vacation here only at our "home" resort! My children love it! And it gives us a feeling of satisfaction - knowing that we are "owners" here, and , to us, it always feels like "coming home" (if our home was a luxurious colonial plantation/estate!) 😁.

The resort staff here has ALWAYS been courteous and exemplary, we have NEVER had an issue, and I have NO CONCERNS about EVER staying here (and I trust this place more than any other resort we have ever used). In fact, if you want to see a difference in room quality, hospitality, and guest experience, you can simply try out other resorts in the Williamsburg area, and compare the difference. This one is, by far, the best. Hands down!

I honestly do not know why people have so many bad things to say about this place. Our check in process was extremely easy. Front desk is super nice and friendly. We won this trip by a free giveaway so of course we had to go the timeshare presentation. To be honest we aren’t interested at all in owning a timeshare at all we did this because it was free. Bri was our timeshare guide and we made small talk with her and she was very pleasant. They did their job and I never felt pressured. When we said no that was pretty much it. Lasted about 2 1/2 hours . That is the only negative think I can say. Other than that our experience has been perfect. If you are interested in a timeshare I would suggest you use this facility as I have no complains.

Hello, I won a contest submission via my local McDonald's where we were getting food and my daughter convinced me to fill out the entry forms. This was in March 2023 and I was contacted in June 2023 to inform me that I was the winner. Our stay was on August 7th through 9th for 2 nights, 3 days at Vacation Village Williamsburg in a 2 bedroom apartment for a family of five. Along with attending a timeshare presentation. The staff was nice, caring, and informative. Our room (pics provided) was clean, nice, and comfortable. The premises were nice and clean. When we drove around town, every where we looked was clean. No trash on the streets or anything. That was something we noticed. I would recommend this location to anyone and we even purchased a timeshare during our presentation. Win, win!! Thank you Vacation Village.

Had to move rooms unfortunately due to a very noisy upstairs neighbor but the man at the desk was great with us. Unfortunately the cleaners for this new room weren’t fantastic as a lot of things in the kitchen were greasy and there were things under the coffee table so hoping they cleaned the tubs and toilets better.. otherwise fantastic.

My sisters and I chose to visit the area to celebrate being over 60 and enjoy celebrating our birthdays together. 4 of us have birthdays in September October November and December. We had fun and loved the hospitality of the resort and the city of Williamsburg and Jamestown.

Lovely every large 2 bedroom 2 bath with sauna and large 2 person jacuzzi condo, no desk.. Pool is narrow but inside and heated, bathroom/changing area is good, hot tub is not huge, but inside! Yay! Met and talked with many nice people there and in pool. Adult only swim 9a.m. - 10 a.m is great. Maintenance personnel come quickly and efficiently to take care of any issues. Front desk personnel are friendly, helpful and efficient. We are staying here for 7 weeks mid February until first week in April 2024. This is our home resort. We bought a 4 bedroom lock off in 2001. We have been able to trade wherever we have wanted to go..Hawaii, Saint Martin, Florida, Myrtle Beach, etc. and stayed in Marriott, Hilton and Sheraton Resorts. Plus bought many getaway weeks through Interval.

This was home away from home. Overall It was very nice. We had to call maintenance for them to spray the patio area due to so many ants everywhere. We not they need to just dust around the patio door 🚪 and the light fixture over the dinner table. There were a lot of cob webs. I would book again for my family to stay. 👍🏽💯🩷
