Pierce's Pitt Bar-B-Que

50+ years smoking up the area, this BBQ restaurant is well known as n the area for their smoked meats and homemade sauces! What they may not be so well known for is their hand made burgers, when I tell you they are worth the extra 15 minute wait because they are made to order I’m serious!! And did I mention the homemade pickles that go on the burgers?? They may be known for their BBQ but I’m telling you the burgers deserve a mention too🤤😋
If you’re ever in the Williamsburg area you should give them a try, don’t be in a hurry because there will probably be a line but, it’s worth the wait!!

My husband - who loves bbq - and I - who does not - decided to go to Pierce's because my daughter raves about it. It truly was great. We split a dinner combo of ribs, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. It came with a small slaw, 4 hush puppies, and we added a side of green beans. Everything we had was wonderful. Good quantity and fantastic flavor. The restaurant is casual and does a brisk take out business. We got our food pretty quickly during the dinner rush. We were impressed with Pierce's and will go there again when in Williamsburg. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

This place is absolutely amazing. Pierce's Pitt Bar-B-Que has been around and doing it right since 1971. The pulled pork sandwich and chicken is what caught my eye the most so that's what I got and I don't regret anything at all. Topped it off with some onion rings! The pulled pork had perfect consistency and was so tender and full of that good smoke flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I'm not one to eat chicken breasts due to its normally dry nature but I've been eating at all the wrong places. The chicken breasts from Pierce's were just as juicy as the legs. The chicken as well was full of that good smoke flavor and the honey bbq sauce they use is absolutely delicious and goes very well with the smoked meats this place offers! Very friendly staff and very fast service! I would also love to add that it is so refreshing to go to an actual BBQ restaurant that has an actual smoke house that is avaliable for public viewing through screened windows. This is no fake BBQ thats fur sure! I'll definitely come back here again! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Easy access off of I-64. Stopped in for lunch on our way to VA Beach. Perfect place for the whole family. Great price, parking, service and delicious food. Military discount and souvenir cup. You can’t go wrong here.

Busy place and for a good reason! I got the pulled pork jumbo sandwich meal. Got slaw on my sandwich, crinkle fries and a soda. The sandwich is well balanced. Pork is not fatty and moist. Not to much of their famous BBQ sauce . Buns are soft and fluffy and good texture. Slaw ... well I could always use a little more ;) I'm generally not a fan of crinkle fries but I really enjoy there's. Restaurants is neat and clean including bathrooms. There is full staff ready to take on the rush. Very friendly. I sat in their out side seating area with the warm sun. They have seats with umbrellas as well and plenty of trash cans. Can't wait to come back.

Went with a group of 7 people and were able to order and eat within 30 minutes. Very impressed with the staff and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Staff were constantly keeping the areas clean. The food was a 10 out of 10. With they hadn’t run out of brisket by 5pm but that speaks to how good the food is. If you save room, get a brownie too.

Fantastic BBQ joint. The atmosphere is incredible. Feels like your walking back on time to an old roadside diner and boy oh boy the food doesn't disappoint. I had the pulled chicken sandwich and it the chicken was phenomenal! The bun was perfect and the coleslaw complimented the chicken so well. My wife had the pulled pork and it was also fantastic.

Highly recommend this place. It's right down the road Great Wolf Lodge and a great option if your in town for the water park..

Waahhale, I’llBEE if you find yourself down in Williamsburg, VA craving some good ol’fashion Tennessee BBQ then look no further. Mr. Pierce brought a little bit of Tennessee right here to Williamsburg, VA back in 1971 and it’s just that good folks, still standing strong after all these years! Don’t forget to grab you a cup of the banana pudding and GOOD OL’ fashioned SWEET TEA!

I have regularly had meals here since 1974. They have good sides. I usually order the J.C. Special with slaw. It has a large barbecue with slaw, a rather large fries, and a drink. I especially enjoy the fact that they have Diet Dr Pepper. It will fill you up. It is a style of barbecue that IS NOT NC STYLE, but rather a unique style of its own. You can taste the smokiness in the barbecue. Warning, when my children were young, they would order items that took a long time to cook. This is not fast food, but you get barbecue fast because it is already hot.

There's a saying in life that you get what you pay for. And there's a picture of Pierce's BBQ next to that saying. Basically the only reason to stop from Richmond to Hampton Roads if you were traveling on a road trip. So worth that pull off that exit. Pretty much nothing around the area at all but whenever you go in there there's a line out the door. Because believe me if it sucked, you would just keep driving and this place would've been out of business a long long time ago. Definitely worth the stop! So good!

I see why this place is on the BBQ hit list for our area. It's almost like you step back in time in the self seating place to eat. It's almost like fast food the way its set up. It was awesome getting great tasting BBQ so fast! I Wish I had a picture of the food but my toddlers were being Knuckleheads!! If your in the tidewater area or visiting Williamsburg/ Great Wolf Lodge I definitely recommend!! You get to take home your cup!

I love the food so much, we make the 50 mile round trip to get some Pierces Pitt. Just thinking about it now makes me want to suit up and roll- day after Thanksgiving too!
The atmosphere is awesome .. feels like a small town atmosphere with a common task. :)
The service is basically self service or fast food. Great stuff!

This restaurant has delicious barbecue! I had the special sandwich which was very tasty, along with coleslaw and cornbread. The tables are simple but the vibe and staff were amazing! You can sit inside or outside with many tables in the shade to chose from. Very easy to find, they also have lots of parking spots, service was quick, bathrooms were clean and finally, the price was spot on. Kudos to this restaurant!

Food is always good. Usually get JC's special. Some of virginia's best barbecue. Love that you can eat inside or outside on their grassy picnic table area.

I've been going here for over 40 years. When I moved away I'd order cases of their sauce my mail! You can smell it miles away. Go look at the pit! My mouths starts watering when I get close. I go for the Jumbo w/slaw. Then I add extra sauce. Best bar-b-que sandwich in the world! GO DOC!

This most recent visit was a pretty normal one. The place was
CRAWLING with patrons. Some interior changes had been made, i.e. several booths had been eliminated. The line was
Terribly long; only one cashier on duty while there are 3 registers to order. But the service was rapid and efficient. By the time you cash out and get your drink, your order is ready. Now to find a place to sit and enjoy. The noise level was a little on the high side which made conversation difficult but who cares, we're eating! Always enjoyable to eat at Pierces. Their BBQ is stuffed with their wonderful Q, and you can ask for a little teaspoon of extra slaw on it. It's worth the drive for us and we come when the mood strikes.

Very busy place. Highly suggest bringing your patience and hearty appetite. Prices are fair for what you get. Can be insanely busy on the weekend, so have adequate expectations. The BBQ is top notch, I wish they had brisket, but the pulled pork is a nice plan b.
