Contreju Jamaican Restaurant

I've been going to Contreju since about 2016. I don't know what the hell these people with these low reviews are talking about. This food is outstanding! I don't know what's wrong with these people's pallets. They obviously don't know good food when they taste it. This food has so much flavor. If I could eat it every day, I would. And the owner is so sweet. She greets me every time I come, and ask me how I'm doing. I would say the people that are saying they are rude, have no respect for their elders. I stand by Contreju. I love you guys. Keep doing what you're doing, and don't change a thing. Your food is amazing!

The food was so good it didn't leave the parking lot and I didn't get to take a picture . I ordered th brown stew chicken it was falling off the bone the flavor was amazing. Rice and peas were good and slightly sweet. Me and my baby fought over them plantains! I've tried other jamaican spots and no place can top contreju.

Aside from the food the staff was pleasant , transaction was easy and although the food was done before I could turn around and sit, it was piping hot and delicious!

Love it here!!!!! Best Jamaican food in the cobb!!! I drive 30 minutes just for lunch sometimes! And I love the staff here, we always joke and have a great time!! Pricing is very fair as well

An honor, really. To have tasted such rich flavor. Years of love and experience in their kitchen for sure! straight from Jamaica! These folks welcome you. Make you feel at home and serve you food that'll have you rethinking if you ever really had Jamaican before!! Haha love it. My first time here. Definitely not my last.

Came here today for lunch, very clean restaurant. Staff members (2 women) were very polite, they each greeted me. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice & beans, also came with cabbage. The food was well season, thank you. If I'm in the area again, I may stop by again. God bless...

The woman who owns it or cooks the food is AWESOME.I drive from Douglasville to Lithia Sprins twice a week to.get her food...BROWN STEW CHICKEN. RICE & PEAS(,curry chicken gravy) is the real deal.. The cabbage is okay but I go home and cook it and add more seasoning..All the patties are good..Go check her out you won't be disappointed.
FYI: The lady who takes the order is definitely CUSTOMER SERVICE..She won me over from.Day 2 when I called in and she remembered my order

I'm going to sue this place, for being so criminally good. Meat be falling OFF the bone. FRESH food. Great service. Great prices.

I love this spot. when I walk in they know me by name. customer service is on point been coming here for years. when I come on this side of town I make sure I get more than enough food and their portions are good. plz try it for urself u will enjoy the food......

I’m reading a bunch of comments about the rudeness of the owners. You have to understand West Indian culture to get it. It’s not rude they’re just direct. Also I’m seeing the jerk chicken is too spicy LOL. It’s jerk chicken, it’s supposed to be spicy! If it’s not spicy it’s not jerk chicken. Maybe the curry chicken would fit your pallet a bit more.

Overall the food here is amazing. Growing up with a west Indian background puts me right at home. I traveled back to NY where you would find the best West Indian food ever & didn’t touch it because Contreju had me not even missing it.

Btw, please get that Curry Goat, my favorite & Ackee n Saltfish breakfast. Best out here!

Listen I got excited as soon as I walked in that place smelled amazing. Then when I heard the older woman at the front getting short I knew the food was finna be good af. I guess people not from the culture would consider her rude but not at all. She keeps it short and sweet and straight to business. I love it, first really good authentic Jamaican I have come across. everything was on point and all my oxtails literally fell of the bone. rice and peas was delicious especially mixed with the oxtails. The plantains was amazing (wish they gave you more) and cabbage as well definitely got a lot of food for the price and it was definitely delicious. Don't sleep on them The food here is amazing.

Food is great. Best jerk on Thornton. Price is also great comparatively.

This is my favorite spot,I drive 45mins to get my fix.! The owner is so sweet she makes you feel at home.😋❤❤❤

Delicious home cooked Jamaican food ! I had the chicken curry and the sauce is on point ! Plenty to eat as the portions are great ! I also enjoyed the beef patty. Recommended if you are in the area and in the mood for great meal . 💯 The staff is friendly and welcoming . This is my first time and I will eat here again when I’m working in the area. Thank you !

I eat here all the time since 2017 the food is really good and the staff is very pleasant and remembers your order.

I have been going here since 2007. The food is superb. My go-to is the Jerk chicken. Extra plantian, extra gravy, one chicken patty, one pineapple cola, and one champagne cola.

We enjoyed our meal and friendly service.
