Old Point Bar

We are staying in Algiers for my bachelorette party and wanted to find a little dive that we could hang out at regularly. The old point DELIVERED - Cassandra the bartender was there every night and was absolutely the best. She was kind and thoughtful and went out of her way to actually buy decorations for a mini Bach celebration at the bar on Friday night. I cannot say enough good things about her - thank you SO MUCH Cassandra! We love the old point, 10/10 would recommend. God Bless Louisiana 🫡

Came with a group to New Orleans and stayed in Algiers Point. This is the dive of your dreams: incredibly kind and friendly locals, high vibes and BON TEMPS. We visited almost every day to see Cassandra and she’s amazing. We had so much fun and everyone agreed this bar was the highlight of our trip. We love you Old Point, we cannot wait to come back!

Cool locals bar. Anyone from a small town has been in a bar like this. Feels like home. The kinda place you can leave your wallet and phone on the bar and no one touches it. The people go above to tell you about the neighborhood they are rightly so proud of. Great people. And yes we will be sending gifts. Thank you for all your help and advice

We had the time of our LIVES at Old Point. We spent 3 of our 4 nights in town here, and the only reason why we didn’t go back last night was because Cassandra wasn’t working. We felt so safe and cared for at this bar. Couldn’t not recommend this place enough!

We came to Louisiana for a bachelorette party but stay for the hospitality.

From the second our group walked into Old Point, Cassandra made us feel like family. This bar is the real deal. It’s local and friendly, the service is second to none, and we felt like we had a home base where we were safe and protected!

Cassandra knows how this works. She knows how to go above and beyond and how to multitask: serving a whole room on her own and quickly.

This place was: party friendly (just don’t be rude!), gay friendly, dog friendly, and

*she knew it was out friends bachelorette party and even picked up some decor and a bride tiara for her to make sure she was feeling celebrated!

The world needs more Cassandra.

CUTEST BAR!!! L ❤❤❤ DOG FRIENDLY!!! 🐾 LOVE this cute quaint spot and the live music is amazing!!! Beers were about $5/6 bucks. Very decent prices. We took the the $2 Algiers ferry over the river and walked about the town.

I live across the street from old point bar and love it everyone is friendly and loves tourists so pass by you'll love it.

This place is a hidden gem! Big cool old bar just over the river in Algiers. Lots of Irish vibe here, hosting some family-friendly events. Bartenders and clientele mostly locals, but warm up to friendly when they find you are chill and not an obnoxious tourist.

Don't let the exterior put you off (like it nearly did me). A great little gem in Algiers Point. Well worth the ferry ride across the river. A band were playing when we arrived. Locals were super nice and a pretty good selection of beers were found.

I visited this bar as part of a sight seeing tour while in New Orleans. They bar had a picture of all of the celebs around the walls. It's very historic, the drinks were strong and the workers were very friendly. Don't go in expecting a modern bar. It is very true to it's roots and I like that about the bar.

Friendly bartenders and regulars....went in with our dog while bar hopping in Algiers Point and we were more than welcomed at Old Point Bar. Bartender immediately offered some dog treats and locals sitting at bar chatted & jokes with us. Awesome place, perfect kind of bar we prefer over Bourbon St. madness.

A Divine dive bar that offers a really great collection of beers and good music and a very quirky eclectic interior consisting of license plates old signs old banners Etc. On Sundays they host football watching for the Saints and people bring food to share. It is a loud and boisterous place in a good way where the clientele are very friendly and some of them bring their very pettable dogs which on some occasions they actually dance with.

Stopped in here while visiting a college buddy in NOLA. I love holes-in-the-wall bars with lots of personality and history. This place is exactly that. You can tell that a lot of people have had a lot of drunk'n fun in there over the years.

Had so much fun here. Nice, laid back crowd when I visited on Easter Sunday. We watched the game and had some brews. Very pleasant esthetics at this little location, nestled in a very beautiful, old-style, southern location of New Orleans called Algiers Point. Loved it!

I went yesterday for my birthday!!! Everyone was so nice and friendly. 😊 The bartender is super Great. Y'all make me so happy, put a smile on a sad birthday girl face. Hope to see all the Awesome people I met there again soon. ❤❤❤❤ Drinks are Excellent 😊

I strongly recommend this Bar. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and friendly staff. I will say the place could use a paint job.

Its a locals Algiers hang out. Great!!
