Camp Reinberg stands out as a hidden gem in the northwest suburban area, offering one of the most well-maintained campgrounds we've experienced. During our overnight tent camping adventure, when temperatures dropped to -5 degrees Fahrenheit, we were impressed by the availability of a warming station and impeccably clean bathrooms. The facility boasts breathtaking views, and the gift shop, open and staffed all night, adds to the overall convenience. The helpful staff, along with the option of cabins in various sizes, make it a highly recommended destination for families interested in camping throughout all seasons.

Camp Reinberg is a little hidden gem. I came here in a camper (RV) with my partner and we were very pleased and surprised at how clean the facilities. Also, we appreciated the 30 AMP hookup to the trailer where we received electric. Elaine and Adriana were great in answering our questions and accomodating our needs. Warm showers, beautiful hiking areas, so much natural wildlife... What more can you ask for?

Mom of 5 review: This place was great for our group of 6 kids and 2 adults. The cabin setup was nice for kids to romp in the grass and on the sidewalks. We stayed during the week and it was peaceful, safe and quiet. My only complaint: The water spigot by the cabins in broken and you have to walk to the shower house to get water. Cook County please fix the water spigot plumbing!!!

We rented out the dining hall for my Son's birthday. Everything was perfect! Elaine was so helpful she went above and beyond to make sure our party went smoothly! So thankful for her! I would definitely rebook this!

we rented a large cabin for a camping experience with our 2 girls (3 & 6 yo) another family w 2 girls (5 & 8 yo). this was our first camping experience with the girls and we wanted something w a bathroom. I had very low expectation going in (managed by Cook county, not privately owned). but the place was pleasantly clean and well maintained. the cabin has a bathroom/shower w a sink and 2 additional sinks in the main living area. the bedroom has A/c and a ceiling fan n 2 twin beds. also, another A/c and ceiling fan in the main area w 4 bunk beds and a small table w 2 chairs. the whole place has ample power outlets and a night stand next to each bed. as mentioned, this is maintained by the cook county forest preserve so don't expect house keeping. you need to bring your own bedding, pillows, towels, etc. also, loved having Target right by so you can make a quick run if forget something. the only thing I wish they had was some counter space in the bathroom but that's not a major drawback. overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

Stayed here during covid, one of the best camping sites around. Now I'm back camping in 2023 and it's still as great as I remember it. The bathrooms are clean, the staff are super friendly. Campers are always considerate of others. Also has great trails for walking, biking, dog walks.

We stayed in November while visiting family. Bill was very helpful as well as the entire staff we interacted with. We hope to stay again. We have a 29’ travel trailer and had plenty of space. The surrounding area felt very safe. The facilities were very clean. The park itself is very peaceful.

me and my son went for the overnight camping trip at Camp Reinberg and we had a very good time. Camp site is clean and well maintained. Camp staffs Brian, Katie, Percy and Pat were very helpful in setting up the camp and for demo.
We will definitely come here again as it is close to our home.

There are noise from the road and trains but I think that is unavoidable if you want a near by location within Chicago area.

This is a hidden gem as far as camping near Chicago. Only 5 campground sites for RV's. Very odd that each site has Electric & Sewer... but no water. BUT, you call the office and they bring a hose to your site and you fill your tank. We stayed 6 nights, the maximum allowed. Got water twice. Extremely quiet. No fires by us. No noisy kids near us. A 2.8 mile paved bike path, but .8 more miles to get to it. Hilly. Super area once inside the preserve. I almost hate to spread the word. 10* really.

When it comes to Cook County Campgrounds Camp Reinberg is a hidden gem. Inside the actual campground it is surrounded by beautiful prairie grasses and flowers. Part of its unique charm is that cars are not allowed at campsites and trails surrounding them. Because of this it is more enjoyable and less stressful for families who are visiting. Children can ride bikes around the loop without the worry of vehicle traffic. The trails surrounding the campground are also worthy of an excursion while you stay here.

Elaine is by far one of the nicest human beings on the face of this earth. From the first phone call to our departure, she was on top of everything and more thoughtful than one of your very own relatives.

Campgrounds are maintained very well, and many amenities are within close driving distance. Definitely an underrated campground!

These cabins were so cute. The electricity works wonderfully with lots of outlets. Just remember to bring proper bedding and a fan! Oh, and staff was way nice, too!

Beautiful park and wonderful campsites. There is road noise but the proximity to the city makes up for it. The trails are awesome and there is so much wildlife. We stayed for a eek and every single day there were deer hanging around our site!

Great camping spot especially for kids or others who are just getting into it. The tent plots are on a raised woodchip bed, and clearly marked. There are (clean) bathrooms closeby, and a shop that sells pretty much everything, including kindling/firestarters. There are beautiful trails connected to the campground for something to do during the day. Highly recommend if you're fine staying in the suburbs.

Nice location for camping in the Chicago area. Facilities are new and clean and there are some nice hiking trails in the Deer Grove Forest Preserve. If you want to travel to downtown Chicago, the Palatine Metra station is nearby.

We were looking for a place close-ish to Chicago to camp—close enough to pop in and visit museums on consecutive days without paying for a hotel room in the city, and also in an area that felt very safe. Camp Reinburg worked for us. 45 min drive to Museum Campus. Camp was super-clean and well maintained. You can park right by the RV/tent sites, but all cabins and all tent-only sites are removed from where you park but they do have two big wagons you can pull along a mostly sidewalk trail to haul your camping gear to the site/cabin. Campsites were peaceful and near the woods—more enjoyable IMO than a big open field. Tent sites are not huge but are well maintained and most have a nice mulch tent pad. Note, gate is locked 10pm-7am.

I came in for work, but the campground is something that is new to the forest preserves. It was established in 2015, and while they might have killed some oak trees in the construction, the overall location is marvelous. Housed not too far from complete urban control, it is a welcomed retreat from home away from home. It would serve wonders for the citizens of cook county to get away for a camping trip for a weekend.

Very peaceful, beautiful natural walking & biking trails. First class facilities for cabin 'camping', RV sites & tent sites. Large open indoor room for group activities, events and/or social gathering.
