Union Square

Iconic place and meeting point. Not so busy during winter and tone I visit but I can imagine it has to be packed during summer. Great shops around and also restaurants and dinners. Good connection to tube and train system, also rather noisy trams

This is a nice square. I went here over Thanksgiving and was satisfied with my experience. This is a large, public square with several tall buildings surrounding it. When I was here there was an ice skating rink and talk Christmas tree. This square is bustling with people and there are several stores nearby, such as the Macy’s department store. I gave this square five stars because it has nice architecture surrounding it and it’s a nice public space.

This square was made famous in the Francis Ford Coppola film, The Conversation; it’s still got the character of a great public square where a democratic spirit reigns; love its seating under blue and yellow umbrellas, and taking in the modern architecture of the high rises; would love to get a loft in one of them . There were some peaceful protests today demanding a living wage that allows person to working just one job instead of multiple.

Beautiful place to hang out and lots of big brand stores. We were there and there was some festival was running by the city. It was all decorated with flowers.

Pretty flowers and places to sit in the middle of the rush and bustle. Worth a stroll and a few pictures. And then jump on cable car across town...

Love this place! Been visiting Union Square for centuries it has been through many challenges some good and not so good! Excellent designer retail stores, cafe's, restaurant's and exceptional hotels. The cable cars are a San Francisco treat! Highly recommend!🥳❤

Union square is the heart of San Francisco's shopping district. You will find all the big brands there. We went here during Xmas and enjoyed the view, awesome crowd and an ice skating rink. I would recommend booking skating rink tickets in advance. Easy access to the Chinatown underground station. You can sit and watch the cable cars pass by, click pictures, roam around the square, enjoy the cable car, shop etc.

This place has a Celebrations vibe especially during the holidays in the Christmas season .

Union Square transforms into a wintry, family-filled charmer, with an ice-skating rink and little ones staring up at an enormous Christmas tree, and glittering shop windows all around. Another reason to visit during the holiday season is to take advantage of Winter Walk SF, a two-block-long pedestrian-only activation on Stockton Street that features food trucks, an open-air cocktail bar, and live performances. Winter Walks in the past have proven to be extremely popular.

Many major hotels and department stores are packed into the area surrounding the actual square. Numerous upscale boutiques, restaurants, nightspots and galleries occupy the spaces tucked between the larger buildings.

At the intersection of Powell and Market streets, tourists huddle to view one the city’s most unique sites, the manual cable car turnaround.

Even though there are too many homeless people.

Union Square is beautiful on Christmas time. People are saying SF is not the same anymore??? Come on, it's even better, this city is so diverse, so many different neighborhoods, ocean, mountain's, parks, bridges, good to visit all year around, I ❤ SF!

What a wonderful place to sit and take in the city.
It's clean and well lit at night.
Great shopping all around, Tiffany's, Apple, etc.

It's an iconic area and very festive at Christmas. who doesn't want to come to Neiman Marcus and Macy's and Sax 5th Avenue during the holiday season. when we went, they were having a winter walk Christmas festival, the ice skating rink was set up. we tried to get a drink at the Sir Francis Drake but it was too busy. we grabbed the Curry fries At the irish bank, which is two blocks away. we ate at the local restaurant Sears one block away from union square and was pleasantly surprised with great food.

Safety around Union Square is relatively good compared to the surrounding streets.
Busking sometimes takes place, and that mood is cool.
Many people still make it an appointment. There is a Macy's department store right next to it.

This lies at the heart of San Francisco, gives you a good old feeling of the city. Has a Starbucks and in the corner and surrounded by old buildings. You can find some local artists and bands playing music and having concerts.

Great atmosphere at Christmas! I've visited this place both in August and November and it's been a great experience both times. I recommend you going inside the Macy's store and going to the last floor. You will have a great view from there!

One can just sit there and watch people go by. Nice to see famous cable cars of SF going past too.

Took Bart n bus to Union Square for an event on Mother's Day.

The view and atmosphere were amazing, especially with San Francisco's year-round mild weather. Lots of stores and other attractions to tour, as well as places to walk around and take pictures. Overall, amazing vibes, I would come here again.

It is a very wide place which is free to visit, there is a food and drink counter available, and you can chill over there.

It's the heart of the city, with a nice Christmas tree and very conveniently located. We were staying at marriott Union Square its a walking distance,

We got there just to get the hop in out bus but we get surprised of how beautifull is the square and the area.
