Athena Bodywork of Portland

I went here on 2/21/24. Booking online was easy but she was booked up for about 3 weeks out of the month by the time I scheduled so keep that in mind. Any questions that I had emailed were responded to quickly as well. As you enter you are invited in by a calming ambience and a friendly welcome. I was sat down and asked what areas I wanted to have worked on. I was also asked what I do for work which I thought was a good question. As for the massage itself I was pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail when it came to locating and releasing tension in my back during my 90 min deep tissue massage. I have not had any masseuse find where I have knots and not leave those spots until it’s released. 10/10. I was a little sore the next day but overall my body feels great! I will definitely be back.

I am so lucky to have found Shiloh and Athena Bodywork, right in my neighborhood too! Shiloh is a very warm individual and listened to me as to what areas to concentrate on. Very easy to talk with and offered suggestions as to what to do for followup care of the sore muscles. Will definitely return!

My massage with Tatyana was amazing. I splurged on a hot stone massage because I had never had one, and honestly it's going to be hard to go back to a normal massage, now. I had a few areas that needed some extra attention because they were especially achey, but I mostly just wanted to chill. I was a noodle after the massage.

I appreciated the hot towels, which was a nice touch. I was only in town for the weekend, or I would have re-booked for next month. Everything felt amazing and would highly recommend her!

I came to Athena Bodywork with some pretty horrible shoulder pain. I let it get really bad for a few weeks and really needed some help. Tatyana worked wonders on me and I left feeling soooo much better. I opted for the 90 min deep tissue massage with the hot stones. A++++ all around. I was definitely sore the next day but that was to be expected. My shoulder pain is almost all gone and i just feel so thankful to Tatyana. I am going back again next week to work out even more knots. 100% recommend Athena Bodywork and feel so happy I have found them.

I had a massage about a week ago and i feel immensely better! I was suffering from really bad pain and I haven’t felt that pain since which is huge for me!!!! I felt very heard on my problem areas and was able to get in really quickly. They have great appointment availability and super easy to book online! I am so glad I came here for a massage! One of the best massages I have had ever! Shiloh was fantastic from start to finish. The location was easy to get to, no wait time, very clean and comfortable. Prior to starting, Shiloh sat down with me to discuss issue areas and gave valuable feedback on how best to address. I had a deep tissue massage, which was phenomenal. Will certainly be returning and recommending to friends/colleagues.

I had a lovely experience at Athena Bodywork with Tatyana.

My fiancee and I came to Portland for a long weekend, and decided toget massages at the last minute. I was pleasantly surprised thatTatyana was able to fit us in the next day, and was available later in the afternoon (which worked better with our travel plans).

I came in with some specific lower back pain from traveling, and she not only addressed it effectively but also provided a deeply relaxing experience. She checked in regularly about the pressure, and really nailed that sweet spot of providing enough to be effective, but not so much that I'd be sore the next day.

The location had off-street parking which was a big perk, and the
studio was clean, welcoming, and relaxing. Also there’s a bakery just down the street, if you want an extra treat after your massage…. I can't recommend Tatyana and Athena Bodywork enough, and I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Portland!

Athena Bodywork is wonderful. I have had several great experiences with 60 and 90 minute Swedish massage as well as deep tissue massage. It's a comfortable and relaxing space. Shiloh Thomas knows what she's doing!

2019 update: Athena Bodywork's new location on Grant Ave is more spacious, still cozy, and much easier to get to. Still going in for regular massage therapy with Shiloh--wouldn't go anywhere else.

Phenomenal deep tissue massage! Magic hands! Shiloh has a way of doing deep body work but still incorporating deep flowing movements in between pinpointing specific muscles.

My deep tissue massage with Shiloh was amazing! She did a great job asking questions beforehand, and was intentional about working on the areas we had discussed. I highly recommend booking at Athena Bodywork!

Had the Swedish massage with hot stones. If you want a good muscle relaxing, tension releasing message, Shiloh is your person!! I left feeling amazing and spend the rest of my week feeling awesome!

Would give more stars if I could! Shiloh was able to fit me in for a next day visit when I had a migraine from shoulder tension, even as a new client. She asked about the areas contributing to my tension, and was incredibly skilled at targeting those areas. I came away with a mental and physical relaxation that helped to abort my migraine. She's got a magic touch -- I can't recommend enough!

Shiloh is professional with a kind and calming disposition. She asked questions and set up an environment based on my answers.
She gave me a wonderful massage and asked me several times throughout the service if I needed any adjustments.
I was relaxed to a point of falling asleep (and maybe snoring a little) several times throughout. It was heavenly.
The office is clean, quiet, and relaxing and pricing is competitive.
If you can get in to see her, do so immediately.
You will be happy you did.

My massage from Shiloh was yes - VERY relaxing but more importantly, it felt really productive! She is truly skilled at finding the problem areas and releasing trapped tension and relieving soreness. Would go everyday if I could :)

I work in agriculture and play rugby at a grassroots level, so if there are any issues with my muscles, I know pretty quickly. Shiloh did a great job helping me recover mobility after a tough match, and avoided any bruises. She answered my questions patiently and made me feel safe and protected on her table. Shiloh at Athena Bodyworks is wonderful. Her massage therapy skills are incredible. The space is comfortable and relaxing. Her personality is very welcoming, warm, and kind. Each time I have gone in to address back and neck issues, I have walked away relaxed, pain-free, and comfortable. I wish that I could go in much more regularly!

It had been a few years since my last deep tissue massage and I was a little nervous finding someone new since I moved to Corvallis, but Athena Bodywork was exactly what I was looking for.

They are extremely accommodating and offer a welcoming environment. The space feels very cozy and safe. Shiloh knew what my body needed more than I did. I came in with the idea of getting a full body deep tissue massage just to get back into the routine. I ended up getting a more targeted massage which was what my body needed. I came out feeling so much better and will certainly be back.
