Great place for any games you may need. The staff are extremely helpful when prompted with just a few ideas, returning with multiple games that you can choose from asking with a synopsis of the game! Alex, who helped me, was phenomenal! There's a selection of "small" games, averaging about 20-25$ and they range up to $2-300.

As an aside, they few one of the cleanest restrooms I've seen, with complimentary amenities.
Would recommend.

This place has it all for all gamers out there. Every age, every style and a place to play them. Big space of tables and chairs for large groups.
A good number of employees are hanging around and ready to help.
Kid friendly, parking lot, clean and friendly. Lots of product.

Really friendly atmosphere and a very large selection of games! They also collaborate with local game makers, which is really cool. I went to the Sunday event, Might I Suggest a Board Game, with some friends and we had a really fun time! We were able to play all kinds of games we never would have tried otherwise. Alex was really nice and he helped us learn some of the games. We also befriended someone who came to the event solo, so it's a good place to meet new people. The parking was also pretty good. They have a lot, and there's also plenty of street parking in that area.

Great employee with the ability to float on her cane. 🫥 Made the experience the best game store ever.

Sadly, our car was broken into and we lost the miniatures hidden in the back with tinted windows in a garage..! 😨 But at least my cane is fixed, and I have an awesome pin. ❤

I used to dislike this store pre-pandemic, but post-pandemic it has greatly improved. Employees actually seem happy to be there and are very helpful. It's a lot more organized than it used to be as well. I enjoy the events and I especially enjoy that I can stop by and play games without being expected to pay anything.

A big space, well organized, and a safe feeling. We went there before dinner and explored the games. There were so many. The people were eager to help and we heard them take the time and help other customers explore their selection. We locked in on the 2-player games and we got a few games and found choices we don’t usually see in the smaller game stores in Seattle. Probably the biggest game store I have been to.

Will go back again when we return to Portland.

The best place to demo board games I've come across. Excellent catalog of both demo games and ones available for purchase, wonderful staff. I wish the bar went further afield than lagers for beer, but I'm still excited to try the ciders they have on hand, and the brand of kombucha they stock is glorious.

I absolutely love this place. There is always some event going on to enjoy. I personally do a D&D adventurers league every Tuesday. They have a mind boggling large amount of board, and card games for sale, along with just about every TTRPG game you've ever heard of, and some that you haven't. The staff always greats you as you walk in, which I find really nice. And they are eager to help you with anything you could need.
Bonus! they serve alcohol in the back room after six PM. They even have a few thing on tap.

What a great gaming store! Boardgames, DnD, Warhammer and much more. Too bad I was only in town for a day, but very friendly personel, a great boardgame library you can play and try at a dedicated space and a great atmosphere.

Awesome game store! They had so much stuff it was a great shopping experience. There are several gaming rooms to keep things a bit more focused on your game. There are many other gaming tables spread out. They have snacks and drinks available for purchase. I was surprised at the amount of gaming accessories they had to add to your Arsenal. 😍 Friendly customer service and clean restrooms. 😊

Super friendly staff, fantastic selection, accessibile and free game room with drinks and snacks, and you can order food from nearby spots. The game library is pretty sweet, especially if you want to try a game before you buy it.

Extravagant place for air conditioning, feel accepted, open tables, snacks, drinks, and cards! Highly recommend going to just sit if you ever wanted to build decks and possibly meet new friends! 😀

This place is a gem of the PNW. I have literally never had a negative experience here, just knowledgeable people and plenty of open places to play. Adds to community.

Remodel is really impressive, cool to watch it go from brick alley (find memories) to a state of the art must see for both tourists and locals alike. I think it’s up there with Powells as a destination.

Only down side is it’s easy to spend lots of money (especially on Warhammer 40K) so treat it like Vegas and bring a set amount of cash and leave your credit cards at home! Other than that it’s quite a spectacle. I’ll post my Warhammer 40K collection which is 💯 all built from Guardian supplies (paint, minis, crates). So excited for Warhammer 40K 10e!

My visit with my grandchildren was awesome. I'll have to admit, I felt out of place. I did go back in the evening to purchase something for another grandchild and noticed events happening through the windows from the outside as I was leaving. I'm hoping to return with my grandson and explore.

An awesome selection of games, with many different categories. The folks there are very helpful and knowledgeable of the different types of games, and if you find one you like, you can try it out at the store. Guardian Games is not only a store, but a space to meet friends and play your own games, and organize tournaments, and so on. Their is a snack bar/bar there also, to add to your enjoyment. I have not seen anything like this back in the east coast. Every time we travel to Portland to visit family, we check this place out. It's worth it. Give it a try.

I love this place. I’ve been in a few times for puzzles, board games and other stuff but I went in the other day to ask about a new potential hobby (who needs free time and extra money, right?). I spoke with May and Cable and both of them were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and really very welcoming. Everyone is always really nice at this store, but these two went above and beyond and it was appreciated.

So, there are a few game stores in Portland. But, I have been impressed by the staff each times I go in. While prices are around fair market value, the staff make this place great! They are knowledgeable and if they don't know, they ask a team member who does.
