Sail Port Townsend was great. I took myself along with my two daughters (6&10). We had an amazing time. Our host wasn’t phased by the kids and was extremely accommodating. I couldn’t recommend the experience more. Both my daughters are asking when we can go again. Lasting memories were made.

Don’t pass on this experience!

We took a 2 hour sailing tour at Port Townsend at the end of a 10 day trip to the Pacific Northwest. What a way to end a fantastic trip! Amber is a great sailor. She didn’t even flinch when a Pontoon Plane landed between us and a ferry coming into port. She is also a wonderful tour guide. Gliding around the bay is a peaceful way to get a feel for the sites, activities and beauty of the area. Amber even had great tips for dining. If you want, you can assist with the sailing, or if not, you can relax and enjoy the ride. He helped, I relaxed.

Amber was an incredible sailing teacher. She’s very kind and super knowledgeable with sailing. Also, it is an independently owned women's business which makes it EVEN BETTER and she has a variety of sailing courses for fun or to get certified. I had never sailed before and just ended my second day with her and I learned so much more than I thought I could in 2 days. You will spend time in class and on water for your basic cert. Just passed my test with her the second day :) She is incredible I highly recommend this course!!

A 2-hr relaxing sailboat ride with Sail Port Townsend was a fabulous way to introduce my out-of-state friends to the beauty around Port Townsend. Our captain (Amber) was super friendly, conscientious, and knowledgeable. To help us better understand the mechanics of sailing, she explained much of what she was doing while we were on the water and also let us take turns steering the boat and adjusting the jib. Different from another sailing charter I looked into, I also appreciated the flexible cancellation policy (full refund if requested at least 24 hrs in advance), in case our plans changed for some reason.

We (Husband Granddaughter and I) joined Captain Amber for 2 hours on Port Townsend Bay. We live in PT, but are one of 6 people here who do not own a boat. Amber has a fun little Thunderbird sail boat that can accommodate 4 people. We two adults and 1 toddler had plenty of room. Captain Amber provided appropriately sized life preservers for all on board. She instructed us on safety before boarding the boat. She also gave us a safety tour of the cockpit and provided information on the contents of the cabin, Including, thank goodness a marine toilet for the unexpected/expected needs while afloat. The boat is provisioned with snacks and small things to to keep a child busy if they become bored by the boat ride. Captain Amber engages with kids, shows them some sailing techniques lets them steer - Even a three year old! Our granddaughter was a little shy of Captain Amber at the beginning, but by the end was walking away from the boat hand-in-hand with her. This 2 hour sail is the perfect length. The noon sailing is just windy enough that the boat will move, but is not too rocky for a toddler to keep their balance. We found this sail trip to be an excellent value and a wonderful time. We intend to join with another couple to go out again this summer! If you are in Port Townsend for a weekend, or even if you want to make an easy and fund day-trip from Seattle, it is a perfect and fun outing. We had superb weather, but it would have been great in cloudy weather too. We so appreciate Captain Amber for helping make a great memory for our grand daughter.

Completely fantastic sailing experience. Owner/Captain Amber took me and one of my best friends out for a two-hour ride. I love that when booking I got the option to ask that our sail be instructional too. That made it so much better than just a charter alone, for us adventure girls. But Im certain a charter alone would be great too.

The three of us ballet'ed around the well-maintained sailboat releasing/tightening jibs, tacking, jibing, and steering smoothly as silk. And enjoying ourselves completely while taking GoPro video. Captain Amber's instruction was clear and concise. It was SO much fun.

The weather held up beautifully too. And Amber is right, as she says on her site: The wind is strong later in the day, just fyi. But our calmer ride at noon, rather than the kater sail, was still helpful to get a feel for everything without any stress. Easy breezy. Cannot recommend Sail Port Townsend enough!!! Brilliant.

American Sailing Association Keelboat 101 class - July 25 & 26, 2022 Port Townsend, WA. Skylar Long instructor. Short classroom day 1, went over expectations, etc. then hands-on. Comprehensive work on all aspects of getting boat ready to sail, motoring, raising sails, tacks, jibes, sail trim, reefing, lowering sails, etc. Day 2 more of same, plus MOB drills and heaving to. Great weather, great boat, easy registration, and lots of fun, I highly recommend Sail Port Townsend!

I had also chartered a boat previously from Sail Port Townsend with a friend. It was another great experience!

We were really excited to finally get to go sailing on the Best Day Ever! We had a really good time with Captain Ned. For some of our group, it was our first time out on a sailboat and Captain Ned was very enthusiastic about teaching and really helped us learn how sailboats work! He really loves sailing and knows sailboats and you can tell that just from being on the water with him. It made the experience that much better.

I would highly recommend a sailing trip with Sail Port Townsend. The communication about weather was above and beyond my expectations. It was nice to know in advance that the trip may be cancelled due to strong winds, but we held out and were lucky to have ideal sailing weather. It was all our first time sailing and Sail Port Townsend made it a memorable experience.

Great, sailing company. The captain is an awesome guide, knows sailing, a great captain. Knows the sights to see and the sound, you'll learn a lot.

Customer service 10/10…instead of canceling emailed the day before about predicted weather and waited till on the day to call it, turned out well.

Sailed around the bay and learned a little bit about how to sail.

Had a great time. Highly recommend, thanks for helping to fill a staycation with adventure and fun. I'll be taking my family up here sailing as soon as I can schedule it. Thank you.

We enjoyed a wonderful sail with Amber as our guide. She explained the manuevers, the functions of the sails and ropes, described the areas where we were sailing and was very knowledgeable of the history of the town. What a delightful day. Thanks for a great outing!

Captain Amber was a joy! A whole new perspective of Port Townsend, the Bay, the maritime sqeeze point that marks the end of the Strait and the start of Puget Sound.

We had a great time. Jared motored when the wind was light but sailed whenever possible. We ended up getting some decent sailing in on a day I thought would be a bust

Also appreciated the history of the area
