The book store itself is eclectic and fun. The third place commons is a favorite place to hang out with friends and family. There are 3 great little restaurants, a plethora of tables and chairs, and live music Friday and Saturday nights. It's typically jazz, swing, and big band style music. It's definitely my go to meet up spot! Highly recommend!

Third Place is a terrific spot to visit when you're near the north end of Lake Washington. I can't think of a store that is better suited to browsing and seeing what's new.
Being outside the Seattle city limits, parking is a breeze (and being in a shopping center with food, hardware, housewares, bakeries, .... you can do lots of things without moving your car)
The bookstore is in an expansive, atrium like space, with a variety of food and drink and relaxation options sharing room with the bookshelves and wide aisles. The width of the aisles is particularly nice for me - being able to stand back a bit and crane my neck to look at titles makes browsing much more comfortable.
They have a nice section of rarer books, as well as a section of autographed new titles, so there's always something interesting to see here.

Strong community space, regular events, always happening, encouraging spot to find new ideas, new people, and just an overall great resource to Lake Forest Park area. My only wish was that the food options. Inside of third place books would expand.

My favorite bookstore in the greater Seattle area! Huge selection of both new and used titles. Hint, look for books that have a yellow sticker on the back, those are the used ones but they are generally mixed in with the new copies on the shelf. I have found some great used gems here. Always a pleasure browsing this store and the staff picks and insights are a nice touch.

They have a great selection. The used books are in great shape, nearly new quality and they are cheaply priced. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a cafe and delicious gyros in the building. Excellent place to relax.

A unique experience. Not just a book store, it's situated in a mall of sorts which means youre already close to a plethora of stores, and the book store itself has various vendors around and inside its area for food, drinks, tables all over. Went for a school outing, had a scavenger hunt, whole class had a blast. Fun environment, HUGE selection of books of all types and for all ages. Would certainly recommend for book shopping, or just to go on a tour for the fun of it. Almost certainly will produce reactions of "Oh, wow!" from the whole family!

Nice displays, clean floors, bakery in the same lobby, cozy chairs to sit in, wide selections, nice lighting, helpful staff, and shout outs to local authors everywhere. Nice place, decent prices, and a nice place to browse. There is a bakery it shares a room with. I grabbed tea, an almond croissant and a cook book.

The flagship store at the Lake Forest Park Town Center is great fun. I could get lost in it for most of the day. So many wonderful books, all beautifully curated and arranged. The Et al., section has a bit of everything for everyone. There are jigsaw puzzles and journals waiting for your thoughts to hit fheir pages. There are books of every kind to pique your interest or foster long harbored ones. Definitely worthy of a few hrs of precious time. On Friday nights there is often a band in the Food Court nearby and people dancing to the music.

Third Place books at this location is on a portion of the upper mezzanine with the Food Court on the other side.

There is also another location at the Ravenna neighbourhood in Seattle and at the Seward Park area.

I could spend all day, on multiple days perusing the extensive collection of books here. I was surprised to see they also have a mini food court and a concert stage. This independent bookstore also accepts and sells used books (I got a new/used copy of Leigh Bardugo’s Ninth House hardcover for $8! 😱), as well as an impressive collection of rare books. Employees are not aggressive at all, but if you have a question, they are very helpful and offer great recommendations. I love the shelves of associate recommendations, where you can find a book for any preference. I didn’t get many photos during my first trip here, but I will be back to take more. If you are in the area, and are a book lover, this is a must visit.

For the most part a non corporate shopping mall where you can support local business. A rarity these days.

Kiddo and I visited Third Place Books two weeks ago to meet Mercury Stardust, and it was a blast. Will definitely be back for book browsing, though. They have such a cozy atmosphere, and it feels like you could roam the book isles for hours. There is also a food court on the other side of the entrance, which me and my toddler and I greatly appreciated.

The sort of bookstore we need to treasure-wonderful & wide selection of books and book-adjacent gifts- in an unexpected location. 3rd Place itself is a great discovery a community gathering spot, with a small but very high quality food court. Lovely, helpful staff!

Are literal 3rd place. The staff is great and the store is very spacious. There is a food court inside and a common area to work on a laptop and eat some food.

Local book store with many depth in many genres, used books shelved with full price books, extras like little gifts, and knowledgeable staff. Right next to the restaurants, gathering spaces and performance space of Third Place Commons, with a comfortable open feel.

This bookshop is wonderful. They have a fantastic selection, and there’s always some friendly, helpful staff person available to lead you wherever your desired books are. It’s nice to have everything on one level, and to have a café right there in case browsing turns to buying and reading.
