I can count on Woolly Mammoth to have the kind of high quality and comfortable shoes that I look for. Even better that I can look through their current selection online and see if they have something that might work for my specific needs. Yesterday I went in hoping to find a certain model and size of Dansko shoe. The clerk was immediately helpful and found what I was looking for. She watched carefully when I tried on the pair of shoes (strap at heel) and demonstrated expertise and knowledge of the shoes by her observations of how they fit. There was no high pressure sales pitches, just careful attention and feedback. When I choose shoes there, I’m never disappointed. You pay for what you get and you can be confident their products are worth it. I highly recommend Woolly Mammoth as one of the best enduring Seattle shoe stores.

Such a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Matthea who helped me explore every shoe option I mentioned. I was looking for a pair of shoes that would support my feet for 10+ hour clinic shifts. She took the time to size me, explain to me the shape of my feet (which helped me realize I've been wearing all the wrong shoes thus far), and even brought out multiple sizes/styles/brands for me to try. She guided me through the process of picking the shoe that best fit my feet and provided maximal comfort. I had TONS of questions before making my purchase, and she kindly and patiently answered every single one. I never once felt like they were pushing me to purchase anything, which is really important to me as a customer. I appreciated the fact that they were focused on finding me what worked best and educating me for future purchases. Already planning to buy my next pair of shoes from them! If you’re planning to purchase a pair of Blundstones, this is the place. It’s the exact same cost to purchase them here as it is online. Might as well support a local business, and folks that have expertise and can help you choose the right fit. Matthea and her team have incredible customer service. My shoes took over a month to arrive (perhaps holiday rush, nation wide blizzard, etc) and they were incredibly thoughtful and even comped me a pair of socks. Very happy with my boots and the overall experience 😌

I'm very impressed with the quality of both the footwear and the assistance at Woolly Mammoth. I have problem feet so I can be a challenge for a salesperson. These sisters (I think owners) wisely play the long game business-wise. They are congenial without a trace of insincerity. Though I was indecisive, I didn't feel like I was trying their patience. I was not encouraged to purchase when comfort was questionable with "we can try to soften it." A return was as pleasantly accomplished as the purchase. These are the kind of people I want to do business with.

I've bought all my essential shoes here (brown boots, black boots, sandals). Every pair, I have worn for years and I love. When my sandals finally fell apart, I bought the exact same pair again from them. They carry excellent quality products that take care of your feet. The staff are very helpful and kind. Be prepared to spend some money, but know it's a good investment!

I recently bought the best pair of work shoes in my life here.

After four years of painful, poor-fitting and cramped shoes, I gave myself a break and wore sandals all summer--in spite of my work in building maintenance and repair.

So, when Fall came, I began looking for a really good pair of work shoes. I spend ten hours a day on my feet or kneeling.

One of two things usually happen when I buy new shoes--either the shoes fall apart quickly or they start to hurt. I have wide feet.

So last week, the people at Woolly Mammoth fitted me with the most exquisitely comfortable pair of Keen work shoes. After wearing them for less then a week, they are the most comfortable but sturdy pair of footwear I have owned in many, many years.

I can't speak highly enough about them.

Great shop. They didn't have the size of boots (Blundstone) I wanted so they ordered my size. The awesome person who helped me mentioned they can run a little small so they ordered two sizes to make sure they would fit. You don't get that service online. Please support these folks and other small independent retailers.

Truly fantastic shoe store. Wonderful, friendly staff! Their stock is well curated. Keen, Birkenstock and Haflinger are the shoes I know they carry. They have more but those are shoes I've bought here. Easy to find location, right on the Ave, across from the U Bookstore.

I had such a great experience here. Woolly Mammoth was the only store in Seattle that I found who carried Birkenstock boots, and carried exactly the style I was interested in. The two ladies working were incredibly kind, despite the fact that I arrived just before closing. I LOVE the boots I bought, and I'll definitely shop here in the future! 🛍

This is the BEST store! The shoes I got there are so unique and comfortable. I get complimented on them all the time. Beyond that, the people who work there are amazing, knowledgeable and make the experience wonderful! To anyone who hasn't been there before, I would encourage you to stop in and experience for yourself the fantastic selection and service. Seattle's best!

I will defiantly return again. The customer service was exceptional, their prices are reasonable, and they have a great selection. I love that this store has been around for years and it has a small family atmosphere where the employees actually care about their customers and not just the sale. When my family or friends are looking for shoes I always recommend the Woolly Mammoth.

I was surprised by how friendly and knowledgable staff was. There was absolutely no bullshit or drama in the sales. The staff knew what they were talking about and seemed to genuinely care you got quality shoes that make you feel good. Just smart, nice people. Quality shoes. I've already recommend this place to friends.

The nicest ladies inside. Friendly and go well beyond to fill the customers needs. My daughter was set on a certain style and color of sandle. Not only were they the only ones in Seattle that had it when they saw how it fit they suggested a narrow may be a better fit. Then they called the company and got it shipped. My first call from now on, Wonderful experience all the way around.
