Market Street Shoes

Really nice shoe store with higher end shoes and very competent sales personnel. It’s been decades since I’ve bought shoes where the salesperson actually knew what would be comfortable. She brought out various models for me to try and I ended up with a super comfortable pair that I would have never thought about trying on.

I stopped by Market Street Shoes earlier today to pick up a pair of Birkenstocks I'd had my eye on, and Sherry was an absolute delight. I mentioned I recently accepted a new job offer and was in need of some more business casual attire, and Sherry asked if I would consider looking at any of the clothing they had in stock. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical- as a plus sized person, a lot of smaller shops and boutiques cater only to more petite or straight sizing. However! I was able to walk out not only with my new shoes, but some very flattering and very nicely fitting tops and sweaters I could wear to the new job. Sherry was super friendly and personable, and it's clear she has a very good knowledge of what the store has in stock and its sizing. Thanks!!

I made my first visit to Market Street Shoes yesterday, and I will absolutely be a repeat customer! I felt welcomed and attended to as soon as I walked in. I was surprised and excited to see that the shop also had a wonderfully curated clothing selection! I wear a US women’s 12-14; often, small shops like Market Street Shoes won’t have options for me. There ended up being plenty of colorful, fun garments for me to try on!

When Kelsey saw I had my hands full of clothes, she was quick to start a dressing room while I kept browsing. After I’d been in the room for about 5-7 minutes, Danelle came over and asked how I was doing. I was trying on a dress that made me feel so beautiful. When I showed Danelle what I was trying on, she gave me a big smile and said, ‘I can tell you something looks great, but it really matters how you feel in it, and I can tell you feel really good. It looks made for you.’ When I was finished with clothes, a third shop attendant (who’s name I didn’t get, but she was wearing a wonderful 80s-inspired neon-punk jacket and awesome red triangle earrings) offered to keep the dress behind the counter while I kept shopping.

Danelle continued to help me as I started to look at shoes. She was knowledgeable, kind, and gave me great options for the footwear needs I communicated with her! She also helped me figure out that, lo and behold, the reason I’ve been having foot pain is because I’ve been wearing the wrong shoe size! I have a wide toe box and have been compensating for that by sizing up at shoe stores. Danelle heat-widened a pair of adorable leather orange sandals for me. She was super quick when grabbing my size options from the back, and communicated with her team when the LAST pair of a shoe in my size was playing hard to get in the stockroom. It was great to see the team members supporting each other when the shop had a steady amount of traffic soon after opening!

I ended up getting three new pairs of shoes. I started breaking in a pair yesterday, and my feet are already feeling so much happier! When checking out, Danelle made sure to get my basic info to start tracking by purchase history. She also let me know that after getting 12 full-price items, I get 25% off! After chatting with me at the counter while bagging my shoes and tissue-paper-wrapped dress, Danelle gave me a very warm farewell.

I likely would’ve been a repeat customer because of the clothes and shoes, but I will DEFINITELY be returning because of the wonderful experience I had with Danelle and the rest of the Market Street Shoes staff. A big thank you to the whole team for the obvious care that is put in to every aspect of the shop. Cheers!

I've always loved going into Market Street Shoes, especially after the Sunday Farmer's Market! I came in this week looking for relief from some worsening plantar fasciitis and was so thankful to have met Noel who was a treasure trove of incredible information on shoes, fit, sizing, arch support, and had great recommendations for me and my friend about what shoes she thought might work for us. The store was giving 20% of the proceeds from Black Friday sales all week to Labateyah Youth Home which is incredible, especially for such a small, family-owned business.

I ended up getting supportive insoles, house slippers, and leather conditioner and am looking forward to going back in the future! 10/10 great store, and incredible customer service from Noel! Thanks so much, Market Street Shoes :)

I had the pleasure to be assisted by Erik with selecting a pair of Hokas and Danskos . He was kind, patient and very knowledgeable about the best fit for my foot. He gave me his full attention. His customer service is stellar.

How happy am I to have shopped here instead of online? I got shoes I was super happy with, but over 2-3 weeks the breakin made it clear that I had gotten them too large. Zainab and Danelle were both super-helpful and clearly interested in me being super happy with my shoes. After trying some insoles (not the fix, but worth a try), Zaniab put the next two half sizes down on hold for me to try on and exchange later because they didn't have them on hand. They called me up, the new size is perfect, and it was a super great experience. They've definitely won my future shoe shopping business.

We had such exceptional customer service here! Danelle helped us and she was dedicated to helping us find the right pair of shoes for my husband. My husband is a tough customer he is very particular about shoes he has wide feet which can make things harder. Danelle didn’t quit until he found the perfect shoe. I had the best experience with Anya whom sold me a pair of insoles and some leather care. She was extremely thorough and knowledgeable while helping me. She made sure to find me the perfect pair of insoles even if that meant trying on all of them- they fit so well! She was also vigilant of the care that was needed for my personal leather wears that day. She has rightfully put me on the journey of taking care of my leather to last. Thanks, Anya!

Eric was extremely helpful and went above and beyond. I told him I was buying boots as a replacement for some that were no longer being made. He not only found the perfect replacement but remembered they had one pair left of the original boots I had (in a different color) and so I went home with two pairs of boots I was very happy with.

We love shopping locally and were very happy with our experience. A special thanks to Anya who was very helpful. She brought us many shoe options to look and without pressuring us to buy anything. Thank you, Anya, for such amazing service!

I don't get to go here a lot but when I do it's always great. The quality of the products, the service, the fact that they sell more then just shoes and sell local I also love. I came in today initially to get socks but the sale rack for shoes was just too tempting and I got a great pair of boots for a great price. Highly recommended.

I went to Market Shoes in Ballard on my Birthday. Anya was my
Associate. I trusted her. She said
"I'll take the best care of you".
She did in fact bringing me shoes I pointed to on the display wall.
Long story short, I was properly fit and bought 3 pair of fine shoes.
2 Weeks later I went to return a shoe which Anya happily took back. Asked her to take the lead. She brought out the 2 cutest tennis and walking shoes I bought both pair as well as the5 pair of socks. Tell your friends If they want a excellent experience I recommend Market Street Shoes Ballard

Went in for a new pair of blundstones after Christmas. Found the pair I wanted thanks to the cute and friendly associate! She actually convinced me to go with a pair that I had been on the fence about. THEY ARE THE BEST PAIR OF SHOES I have ever bought :) Not only that but somehow I was convinced into buying my first pair of Halflingers as well after seeing hers that she had for a while. She made it one of the best shoe buying experiences I have ever had in my life!

Shopping here was a great experience, and some of the best customer service I've received since recently moving to the area. The store is well-lit, well-organized, and notably very clean, as well as having convenient product displays.
The customer service was, in a word, impressive. Anya is very knowledgeable and well-versed; she helped me choose from a variety of shoes that met my requirements, and I will definitely remember Market Street Shoes for my future shoe purchases.
It's always awesome to see this level of expertise, combined with a high-quality selection of products, when making such an important purchase as your next pair of shoes; I highly recommend this store.

Finally decided to splurge on a pair of nice athletic shoes and am so glad I decided to spend my money here! The store is nicely arranged, has a great selection, and some top notch customer service. I’d particularly like to shoutout Danelle and Anya! Danelle was super friendly and helped me out as soon as I entered the store, and Anya provided some great feedback that helped me make a decision.

Will be purchasing all of my shoes from here going forward - it’s extremely rare (for me) to have such a positive experience while shopping, so I felt I needed to share this with the world. 😊
