Great experience here! These guys are highly knowledgeable and made us feel really welcome even though we’re amateurs to music production. They weren’t like some engineers who act like hot shots, no stupid ego to work around. They helped us with some creative recording techniques we wanted to try! Turned out nice. Highly professional, amazing recording spaces, amazing gear to use - 100 percent recommend. Will be going back!

If your a recording artist, producer, or label - I **HIGHLY** recommend the professional services Mirror Sound provides. An impeccable front-end and back-end that you would expect from any studio worth their salt.(Neumann/Neve/API/Barefeet)

What sets this studio apart are Ken (Berklee Alum) and Derek (Wizard) - a beautiful mix of old and new school recording, mixing, and mastering. A *powerful * studio with wonderful state of the art integration of their API console via an HDX interface to Pro Tools for some of the best in-the-box mixing/mastering available. For out of box mixing, they have every industry standard piece of recording hardware (pics attached) ready to patch in.

Ultimately, though- there is a good vibe and Ken/Derek have great hang - making artists feel great about the recording process.

We recorded on a beautifully tuned upright overstrung piano. There is also a ready to go drum kit, singing booth, and isolation booth - all professionally wired and constructed for easy viewing and coordination.

I just completed the Practical Audio Recording Course (PARC), part one at Mirror Sound Studio with owner Ken Fordyce and Derek Fordyce. Over the course of eight weeks (16++ hours) I refreshed the little that I already knew and learned a lot that I didn't about state-of-the-art sound recording and mixing.
Ken is an excellent teacher and has a well-thought-out curriculum that includes a good mix of theory and hands-on learning. Taking this course was one of the best things I've done in a long time and I'm eagerly looking forward to taking part two.

This was my first experience in a professional studio. I expected it to be an intimidating environment, however, Derek put me at ease. He understood just what to do to get the most out of my voice. If you want to up your voice over work, look no further than Mirror Sound Studio.

Mirror Sound Studio was professional from start to finish. I went in to record my voice over demos and Derek greeted me with such enthusiasm as if I were family. He was friendly, kind, patient and took the time to answer any and all questions I had throughout my recording. He treated me with the utmost respect and made me feel comfortable. Throughout the session, he also had a great repore with my producer and worked with lightning speed accomplishing all editing requests with ease. He was extremely personable which helped me to open up and bring out the best in me throughout my two hours session. Afterwards he showed me the rest of the studio and continued to answer any questions I might have. I highly recommend Mirror sound studios and look forward to working with them in the future. I went in for a new VO demo reel and these folks took great care of me. Their studio is state of the art and they were very welcoming. Derek was on the boards and guided me through as I stumbled and stuttered. If you’re looking to do (most) anything that requires a sound studio, this is the place in Seattle.

Ken and Derek were fantastic to work with, they listened to what we wanted and they delivered both in the live recording and the mixing, and in our band’s price range.The studio has top of the line everything. I definitely want to work with them again soon!

Ken and Matt were amazing to work with. They made my time in the booth doing VO comfortable and enjoyable. Very professional studio and staff. Day one of recording my audiobook, I worried about my slow and bumbling performance. Ken and Derek said I would improved the next day and it was true. I was so grateful for Derek's good ears and clear comments. Such nice guys. I just approved the final mastered files and they sounded great. Highly recommend

I've had guitar lessons with Ken now for about 8 months and have learned much more than I expected in that time. Ken's pedagogy is mostly modeled after the great William Leavitt who established the guitar department at Berklee. So if you want to get into a school like that, or sound like you went to one, or just want a solid foundation for playing Blues, Rock, or Metal, then Ken would be a great choice as your next teacher. His rates are very reasonable for this level of instruction and lessons are done in the Mirror Sound recording studio. If you're done playing Wonderwall, and ready to practice every day and learn the skills to play almost any song, then I highly recommend you spend some time with Ken.

If you are looking for a studio to record music, voiceovers, or get a professional mix/master, Mirror Sound Studios is a great option! The studio has a great layout, great selection of audio gear to use, and is very clean. They also offer audio recording classes that are great for beginners, or anyone looking to improve their skill set. Ken and Derek are very professional, and will take your work to the next level.

I had my voiceover demo recorded and produced at Mirror Sound. I had a wonderful experience. It was a remote directed session and there was no hiccups whatsoever. Everyone there was professional and kind. There music studio looked killer too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services.

Mirror Sound Studio was a great way to get started in the Voice Over Industry, the studio itself has a really cool layout and its tucked away from the busy streets. I mainly worked with Derek and he was so great at making me feel at ease and not nervous at all. I was given direction and tips from Derek and he was also really fun and funny with some good jokes thrown in to keep me at ease, this was a tough thing to do for the first time but he created an environment where I could focus. Derek even went beyond the normal studio time to teach me about the equipment that I have at home and how to troubleshoot problems. This was a great experience and I would love to work with Mirror Sound in the future.

what a great environment for recording music. The mood, the setting & the people are great. Highly recommend for any artist of any genre looking to work with people of similar passion. I personally record hip-hop and i could tell at first it wasn't what the engineers are normally used to but at the end of my session i was satisfied with the mixing & mastering. I'll be going back there again soon.

Mirror Sound Studio is a perfect space for making musical vision come alive. I visited the studio while teaching a "School of Rock" class with high school students. The kids rehearsed for two weeks and then came into the studio and recorded two songs in a day. Ken and his team were fantastic with the kids, who are STILL talking about it. The turnaround time with the mix was also amazing. I can't recommend Ken's space enough!

I had such a wonderful experience recording my commercial and narration voice over demos with Ken and Derek at Mirror Sound. Their location is perfect and the quality of the studio is top notch! I've done two commentary tracks for feature films with Ken and both times it was a great experience. The product turned out really well. He's easygoing. Has a very comfortable studio. His rates are reasonable. What's what's not to like?
