Wild Plum Tea Room

Visiting the Wild Plum Tea Room was the highlight of our trip to Gatlinburg! We felt extremely lucky to get a reservation and learned that only one person manages the reservations, serving, and cooking. Although the current reservation system is frustrating for some, it saddens me to see low reviews because of it. She explained that her mother is ill and she is only one person. The whole meal was an experience! From the classic Wild Plum tea, served iced or hot, all the way to dessert, everything was an absolute 10! The cabin itself is adorable and we loved sitting out on the screened in porch listening to the stream as we dined. Each and everything on the menu is made from scratch from seasonal ingredients. I would 100% recommend to anyone and cannot wait to return in the future.

What a wonderful experience! Down to the natural trickling stream of water right next to the outdoor seating, they have it down perfect at the Wild Plum Tea Room. I think the menus often rotate but we ordered the Smoked Salmon Roll on Greens to start with, the Wild Plum Medley with tomato bisque, chicken salad, and a refreshing dill pea salad, and iced tea. Everything was fantastic and definitely worth making a reservation and taking the time to enjoy. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, the space itself was tranquil and inviting, and the food was great. Not to mention we were able to have our dog Morty with us on the patio and they brought him a bowl of water! No complaints at all and can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Gatlinburg, TN.

A must see destination. Everything was incredible, from the food, to the scenery, to the gracious service.

This experience was really cool, super cute and special for couples, we loved everything about this place, the waitress was very good and hard working, and the chef prepared some unique delicious food! Our favorites were the salmon burger, hot brie cheese platter, and the apple cake was one of the most amazing desserts we have ever tasted. The only thing we had that was so so was the beet salad. The staple plum tea here is addictive, but just remember that is the only tea they have (no tea varieties which confused us a bit). Overall it was wonderful and we would go back if we were ever in the area again.

We always make a point to try to come to Wild Plum Tea Room whenever we are in town. Menu items have changed over the years but it's always delicious. It's a small operation with very limited seating, so reservations are required. The menu doesn't list every single ingredient, so make sure you tell them about any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Kacy, who owns and operates the restaurant, makes you feel welcome. The atmosphere is inviting and serene. The Wild Plum Tea Room is a place for leisurely dining and enjoying all the delicious food and drinks on offer. We enjoyed the tea (both iced and hot), the muffins and jelly, the lobster pie, and the apple cake. What a great experience!

Wow! This out-of-the-way restaurant, nestled in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains, was an unexpected delight. It is not your ordinary tea room, if there is such a thing, it is fashioned after an Austrian tea room. And the tea they served was simply awesome! Although not a vegan, I have been known to eat vegan food and I tried the impossible burger (they offer other real meat dishes, but I was curious). It was absolutely the best burger I ever tasted with or without real meat! My wife had corn chowder, and it, to, was delicious. Service, check. Decor, check. Charm, check. This place is a winner! Oh, it ain’t cheap, so be warned.

Wild Plum Tea Room is a lovely afternoon experience. I highly reccomend their house tea iced or hot it tastes delicious. Lottie our waitress was sweet, caring, and an outstanding hostess, we never went without a full drink and left the tea room full, satisfied, and happy.

One of the best lunches I've had in a long time. Very unique setting and atmosphere. Make reservations two days ahead of time and you'll be fine. Yes it's only one cook and one server. Be prepared for a paced meal. Get tea, enjoy the room, enjoy your food, and be happy that you're in the mountains eating delicious food!

Love, love, LOVE the Wild Plum Tea Room! It is straight out of a novel! Every detail from the decor to the food presentation has been done with maticulous care. The food was delicious and the staff was courteous and friendly. I will absolutely be back! This place is an absolute gem.
A few notes:
1. As listed on their website, due to the fires they are short staffed. Allow time to relax and enjoy. They will get to you as soon as they can.
2. As listed on their website, call to make a reservation at least 2 days in advance. As you will hear on their answering service, they won't can you back unless there is a problem.
3. The parking can be a little confusing. There are 2 driveways near the restaurant. Only one is for customer parking. There is also an over for lot across the road.

The food was incredible and the staff very friendly. I had the chef special of the day which consisted of a bison burger which I paired with the German soup. We had the seasonal pumpkin bundt cake which was delicious. The atmosphere was very relaxing and felt at home. They are also dog friendly.

Absolutely fantastic, everything I had here was superb. Made reservations and was seated only five minutes after, I was honestly prepared to wait later as there was only one person waiting tables. The service was still excellent. The salmon burger my boyfriend ordered was by far the best thing, absolutely delicious.

PSA: MAKE A RESERVATION IF YOU WANT TO EAT HERE. I heard multiple people complain that they’d been waiting forever. Their website kindly explains that they are understaffed and to be patient. If you don’t have the patience to wait for an excellent meal, go to McDonald’s.

Cozy and quaint little cabin a short distance from the main strip in the Arts and Crafts Community. We've been coming to Gatlinburg for 30+ years and somehow this little hidden gem had managed to evade us. It's been in business for 36 years, so you know it's going to be good.

The reservation process is a bit tedious and I highly recommend booking your slot several weeks in advance to ensure they get you on the list. We booked about 2 weeks out!

The waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure our Wild Plum Tea was always topped off. They were very knowledgeable of the menu and did not hesitate to answer ALL of my questions.

Portion sizes are near perfect for lunch, but definitely grab an app or two. The pimento cheese is served warm and all the oooey, gooey cheesey awesomeness just melts off your spoon... We inhaled it!

The chef's specials Are. To. Die. For. We missed out on the lobster pie (I food stalked the people beside us since they got the last one and it looked heavenly!) but nabbed one of the salmon burgers. The combo of dill and fresh garlic in the burger and the tangy aoli + onions and pickles on top were nothing short of divine. The flavor profile was off the charts!

The chicken salad was savory and unique in that it was filled with fresh fruits. It was a nice light treat on a hot summer day. Definitely try it!

Deserts were beautiful and big enough to share (if you don't have much of a sweet tooth).

Insider Tip: Reserve your chef special when you make lunch reservations, so they will save one for you! Our sweet waitress was kind enough to mention that for our future visits.

The Wild Plum Citrus Tea is super sweet and like crack. They offer free refills and (thankfully) a restroom upstairs. 😂

Excellent venue! Plant-based options. Everything is delicious! Accommodating staff! Must try their wild plum hot tea!! Blood orange sorbet is a terrific vegan dessert!

Please know the Wild Plum tea room is now run solely by one person, so dining is by reservation only and they are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They are truly the best restaurant in town and they are the reason we come to Gatlinburg! We so appreciate the quality and care that goes into taking care of their customers and are glad they are able to remain open although limited. Please be sure to make your advanced reservation and enjoy this hidden gem in the mountains!

Literally the most darling lunch spot. Plan ahead and make a reservation. If you have food restrictions let them know ahead of time and they’ll have options for you. Trust me, just hearing their voicemail will bring a smile to your face. This place is for you if you want something unique and a break from chains.

My wife and i have been here twice. We love this place, and the food is amazing.

Awesome, small artisan tea room and restaurant. Food and service were outstanding, especially for the Gatlinburg area which, let's face it, isn't known for it's foodie culture. I had the lobster pie with the dill green peas. It was wonderful!
