Excellent selection of graphic novels/comics, plus political theory, history, and gender studies, but even beyond their areas of focus, they always have something interesting I've never seen before or elsewhere.
I personally really appreciated the mask policy, especially considering how hard it must be to ventilate that space.
Customer service was excellent, and the vibes are immaculate.

Amazing selection of authors and titles! The poetry section was my favorite. I love poetry by trans authors, and there was plenty of new content to enjoy. I also really appreciate that masks are both required and provided. Even in 2024, it's an important part of community care, especially in a location that brings people from across the world to enjoy all that Seattle has to offer.

Did some browsing and buying at Left Bank Books, an anarchist collective bookstore in downtown Seattle in the Pike Place Market. Outstanding selection of books for the lefty shopper, including hard to find titles and pamphlets, zines, and newspapers. Don’t miss this if you are in Seattle!

Left Bank Books is a dying breed of independent bookstores that have been vanishing since Barnes & Nobles and Borders, Amazon came into existence. Thankfully those chains are fading although the digital books are here to stay. This bookstore has some great books that would otherwise be hard to find or know about since the algorithms on Amazon don't allow for discovery of those titles. Wish I had a bookstore like this where I live since I would be in regularly. Enjoyed shopping in this store.

A small but unique bookstore. I made a stop here and enjoyed the experience. Mostly new books. Not much on natural sciences but many gems in social sciences, humanity studies, and literature. They have a long standing Books To Prisoners program for you to purchase books at discounted prices to donate to the prison library. There are a few chairs and seating areas if you like to read a few more lines. A pleasant, quiet corner within the hustle and bustle of this concrete jungle.

Left Bank is an institution. The staff is friendly, the shelves are stocked, the location is perfect (right at the entrance to the market). Buy a book for yourself, get another for a prisoner (they heavily support Books To Prisoners, the oldest prison literacy charity in the USA), then walk to the market and catch a flying fish.

found this place while wandering around the waterfront on my day trip to Seattle from Vancouver back in may, and I'm so glad I did! Found some great books and the staff there were kind enough to let me use paypal since my debit card didn't work across the border and I had no US cash on me at the time. Such a lovely cozy place with a nice little reading nook upstairs, if I ever visit Seattle again I'll definitely be making another visit!

My favorite bookstore in Pike Place Market! Super cute space with an incredible selection of LGBTQ books, in addition to other great reads. The sci-fi, fantasy, and non-fiction sections are fantastic!

Cool place. They have a little bit of everything regarding the leftish of culture, politics, social science, history, memoirs, revolution, gender, race, etc. There are also common ones like cookbook, literature, art, film, music. You could learn something just by browsing, discovering viewpoints or books you don’t know you are missing. Posters and flyers are also very interesting. Bookworms small dreamland ‘sort of’ hidden in the bustling market

Awesome selection of zines and lefty books!
All the people who are complaining in the reviews about having to wear a mask need to chill. If you don’t want to wear one, nobody is making you enter this bookstore! If you want to go in, be considerate of other people and wear a mask. Not difficult.

One of my favorite gems at Pike Place! I've been here countless times, and it's a must-see for me every time I come to the market. Despite being right at the entrance, it's usually not crowded at all. I 100% recommend spending some time here to admire the unusual collection of books and the awesome interior decorations! They have books on all sorts of obscure topics, ranging from American meddling in South American governments to eco-terrorism to the occult. There are multiple levels, and on the highest level is a window seat where you can read. They also have all sorts of fun pins that you can buy for like $1. My favorite place to window-shop in Pike Place!

Amazing bookstore with the best decor and very friendly staff! I was sad they were out of the book selection I wanted but that’s ok! Great anarchist bookstore with a decent Black Studies selection too!!

Left Bank Book Collective is a true gem for book lovers seeking a unique and independent shopping experience. As an anarchist, worker-owned collective, the store exudes a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. I was thrilled to discover a diverse selection of thought-provoking titles and ended up leaving with a stack of books that I couldn't wait to dive into. Support this amazing bookstore and embrace the spirit of community and alternative literature at Left Bank Book Collective.

Such a cute bookstore. I saw so many titles that I have already read and loved as well as lots of others that I wished I could have bought. Did have any room in my luggage for books but I loved browsing. It was pretty quiet and empty when we were in there. Lots of interesting posters, prints, and tshirts for sale as well!

This place was a cultural staple to me when I was living on the streets as a teenager. I saved up money to buy a shirt from there like 13 years ago. Today I'm visiting and showed up an hour before closing but they were already closed. It was the only thing I wanted to do in Seattle. I hope everything things okay just wanted to say I miss it 😭

Cute place to step away from the busyness of pike’s place market and enjoy some quiet surrounded by books.

Loved this bookstore and would definitely go when I visit Seattle again. Nice selection of left leaning books from politics, labor and various cultural studies. Nice fiction section and comics as well. Played great music while I was there too.
