Dr. Schneider and the team at Family Pet Vet is amazing. My buddy was having some health issues, notably low appetite. The Dr. performed an extensive review, provided a detailed differential diagnosis and explained a program of care and next steps.

It can't be overstated what a difference this is from my prior vet. My buddy is showing remarkable improvement from this morning. Thank you!

The staff here is super sweet! It seems like they all genuinely love their jobs here. I can always be sure my doggo is going to get the best care!

After moving to the Seattle area earlier this year, I was looking for a good vet for my cats. I landed on The Family Pet, and I am so glad I did! I recently made an appointment for one of my cats, and everyone I interacted with was friendly, responsive, and professional. Erica at reception was incredibly helpful both with scheduling my appointment and with follow up questions I had after my appointment.

Dr. Love was very helpful, fully explaining the next steps needed for my cat's ongoing care, and answering my many questions. I felt very confident in her recommendations, and she clearly explained everything to me.

I definitely feel at-ease knowing my pets are in such great hands!

I had a wonderful first visit for my new dog. The techs and veterinarian were all so kind and helpful. They explained everything and gave great recommendations. The front desk staff was great as well, and checked me in right away and got our appointment started. Both my dog and I felt as ease, and I'm looking forward to working with them to keep my pup healthy and happy.

We love The Family Pet! I have been using them as my primary vet for my dog and two cats for three years now. The technicians are great - friendly, informed, and quick to respond. They are honest, rather than telling you to come in just for the sake of coming in. The vets are helpful and attentive. I will happily be using them as our vet for as long as we live in North Seattle.

My family is so grateful for the wonderful care that The Family Pet provided for my dog. Dr. Parker was very gentle and caring when she gave my dog her annual check up. She also gave specific examples on how I can manage my dog’s weight better. She was thorough and easy to understand.

The staff was also very polite, thoughtful and sweet when they took my dog for boarding. They were very patient in answering all my questions. Their gentle and caring demeanor helped put our minds at ease while we are away. They treated my dog as if she was their own and even provided me with feedback about how my dog did when I picked her up. I am so happy to have found a trusted veterinary clinic and boarding for my beloved dog.

Got me in right away for my cat's ear hemotoma. Staff and doctor are very friendly. Cost for exam, aspiration of hemotoma, microscopic exam of the fluid and ear was about $150.

I felt we got excellent care in a time that is stressful and so different from normal times! My dog was nervous as she always is during vet visits, but is healthy and happy, and I am much happier knowing how healthy she is! I really appreciated how willing and excellent our doctor and the front desk staff were to answer my questions.

We have been taking our two cats here since we moved to Seattle about 3 years ago. Vet technicians and Veterinarians are kind, attentive, and we've always felt they truly cared about the well being of our pets.

We are recently dealing with a very sick cat that is under their care. The Veterinarian was thorough in explaining what was going on with our cat AND what next steps and options we have on our plate. She also has been taking the time to call and update me throughout the day about the status of my pet.

While this is an extremely difficult time for my family, they've made this process easier with their care and excellent practice.

I highly recommend The Family Pet and thank all the staff for the care they are giving us.

We recently adopted another puppy into our family. We now take our two dogs and cat to the Family Pet and could not be happier with the care our pets receive.

We see Dr. Poole and she is fantastic. We really feel she cares about our animals and she always takes all the time needed to answer our questions and explain things in terms we understand.

In addition to Dr. Poole, every single veterinary technician and assistant at the Family Pet has been the absolute best. You can easily tell that they are well educated and are passionate about working with animals.

Currently, they're office is closed to the public for safety reason related to the COVID-19 outbreak in Seattle. Even so, they communicate clearly and consistently through the phone, and have a drop off system in place that is seems to be functioning really well!

Our family is so happy we discovered the Family Pet years ago and really recommend them to any pet owners. Thank you guys for all you do!

Honestly some of the friendliest people, they made sure my cats felt comfortable and also helped educate me about things I had no previous knowledge about.

We have had an amazing experience with Dr. Hilmoe as our primary vet for the past 12 years. We have had 2 Boston Terriers and one of them had many health issues over the years. She is gentle, thoughtful, caring, and smart. A great doctor. We have also seen many of the other doctors and overall have had great experiences, including some urgent/emergent visits. The staff is friendly & helpful. And the hours & location make it extremely convenient for us.

The Family Pet was incredibly efficient, professional and caring during my puppy Waldo’s initial two visits. The entire staff, including the vet, treated my dog with love and me with respect throughout.

They even managed a puppy socialization session with my puppy—whom can be a handful. And this was all done with zero contact, during a pandemic, always on schedule. So thankful.

We have lived in Ballard for 45 years and have always taken our pets to this clinic. The staff has changed over the years but the care has always been excellent, with sincere compassion for our pets and their needs. Communication between the doctors, staff and family is very reliable, this is especially important during a time of need. I highly recommend The Family Pet.

The Family Pet always takes great care of my dog. They are thorough, informative, and always friendly. The level of care is always top notch. It is can be difficult to get a same-day appointment so plan ahead and have a back-up if something comes up where your pet needs to be seen right away.

We have taken our two cats and puppy to Family Pet for over 4 years now. They have been absolutely wonderful every time. They offer lots of different services and have always been good about explaining the treatment recommended. They genuinely care about our animals and when we leave the little one for a weekend boarding, they always take great care of him. We could not be happier with them!

Great staff! I feel like my questions and doubts are heard and addressed. I'm satisfied with the thoroughness of care. My pets were usually stressed out after visits to other vets in the past. But, my cats love going to The Family Pet. They always come home happy and relaxed.

We've been using Family Pet for years. This is an exceptional clinic; caring and extremely thorough with regard to both diagnosis and treatment. The compassion exhibited when we lost our elderly cat several years back was so very kind and thoughtful and helped us to get through a most difficult time. Dr. Hilmoe in particular is the best.... she has an amazing way of communicating with both pets and their owners. The Family Pet is also good about calling to see how things are going after treatment is provided. This is particularly important with older pets.

The Family Pet is the best vet practice we've ever gone to. After a poor experience at another local vet, our friend recommended the Family Pet. Their care and patience are outstanding. The doctors themselves are available for phone calls and we regularly get follow up calls after visits. We have a cat with chronic care issues and everyone at the Family Pet has been incredibly helpful and kind. I highly recommend them.

We've been taking our pets to The Family Pet for over 20 years for all of our veterinary needs, and have never been disappointed. All the vets and staff we've met there have been very helpful and compassionate. Dr. Hilmoe has been our main vet and she's wonderful. One of our dogs had surgery there and that all went extremely well. We would highly recommend The Family Pet.

I got two kittens this year and decided to take them to The Family Pet after some pretty extensive review-reading for Ballard/Crown Hill/Interbay vets. I have so far been 100% happy with my decision. The building isn't large or fancy, but the staff is all very caring. I've called several times with questions, and they have always been happy to help. They also make follow-up calls after every procedure (shots and neutering so far for me) to make sure your pets are doing okay. I've referred a few friends here after they've had bad experiences with their vets. Overall a great, local choice!
