Safeway

This Wednesday morning, I went shopping in this supermarket with my fruit and vegetable card. The service staff who happened to be at work were attentive and thoughtful, which made me feel very warm. Later I looked at her badge. Her name is Lena, and since I don't understand English, maybe I don't remember some letters. She is a very, very sweet person and I thank her! Of course the other waiters are also very nice. I will frequent this supermarket in the future👍🌹🌹🌹🙏

Really large Safeway (for a city metro) with full produce, butcher, and bakery sections.

Also there’s a gas station attached to this one, as an added bonus.

There is a very nice lady at self check out named Maria. I left an item after I paid and she held onto it until next day. Maria is so amazing!

I will retract my previous statement about higher prices; as all other grocery chains have comparable mark ups.

I like the staff, the products are fresh, the price tags are always changed on time, the cashiers are smiling.

I had dropped some watermelon and it had spilled all over the floor. I had intended to pay for it and was going to just feed it to my dog since it fell on the ground. There was a nice gentleman (in the self check out) who I notified of my mess so no one would slip. He told me I could grab a new one and throw it away. Most places would make you pay for anything you dropped but not safeway. I'm grateful for that, thank you to whoever that was.

Employees of this Safeway deal with a tremendous amount of abuse, from people smoking fentanyl in the parking garage to violent and erratic outbursts from individuals loitering without intention of honoring the social norms of shopping at a grocery store. That being said, their insurmountable patience makes it a pleasant experience.

There are a few clerks at this store who have been polite. I say please be careful with some food items, also like it when they bag cleaning items in a separate bag, nice. So I have had no problems at this store.

Well run. Though the prices are generally very high – this location has its inventory as organized, ultra clean and stocked as well as any supermarket in the area. The self checkout has fast assists. This almost has a feel of one of the new Amazon stores with no personnel. It is so well thought out as self serve that you might not see more than five or less employees there into the evening. They work very hard and with the great location, intersection, bus stops comes any type of customer and even possible small congregation of non customers in the parking lot. The few employees running the market have a lot on their plate.

Clean, well stocked entry of the grocery chain. Some security upgrades have been made over the years, with plenty of parking options for a quick stop or full shopping trip.

I rarely visit this location because it's not close to home, so when I stopped in about 30 minutes to them closing, I was greeted by all the employees who were working, including the MOD, which was really nice. I inquired about their pumpkins outside and the manager was kind enough to offer me cart to see more selection inside the store to what I was looking for. Checkout was fast and easy and the man bagging my purchases chatted with me about my plans for the pumpkins I chose and genuinely asked me to come back sometime to tell him how it turned out with a possible photo.
They all wished a good night to me as I left, too.
It's this kind of genuine, rare service in a grocery store about to close that I will actually go out of my way to shop here again. I cannot express enough how pleasant my experience was here thanks to the outstanding employees who obviously care about their job and their customers.
The parking lot was also clean and I felt safe, despite the area's change in recent years with increasing litter, as well as a spike in the homeless population. The area may seem sketchy, but I find most people here are kind and mind their own business.

Some good hot food. They run out quick. I like the salad specials and hot chicken bar

The good produce seems to run out quick, considering the proximity to a lot of residential spots

Bakery runs out soooo quick, aka the donuts are usually gone by 7.30-8am . I wish they made an evening batch for those who live more than a mile away

Edit 1st march: security folks here all the time, so homeless folks in and out of the store and garbage is not spotted in store. Much safer

Clean store, including the bathroom. Great variety including organic produce, some vegan alternatives, good selection of wine and cheese. Store-baked bakery items like bread and bagels were soft and fresh. Helpful, pleasant self-checkout staff too. Good job, Safeway! Solid 'A' from me.

I love the florist Natalie. She’s always doing a great job every time on my order. She’s a sweet heart person and works very hard. I see her there on every visit. I come here for my flowers purchases and ended up doing all of my groceries there even though I live in the south end. Thank you Ms. Natalie!!!

Friendly staff, great customer service, quality items for purchase.

I bought a birthday card, birthday cakes, (yes 2, because I wanted options and the quality of the cakes were surprisingly good! ) and presents which worked out perfect.

Quest Diagnostics is inside the Safeway making it super convenient. Store is clean and staff are great!

This is my local neighborhood Safeway. I live and work nearby so it isn't unusual for me to visit once or twice a day on a regular basis. This has given me an opportunity to get to know the staff and management of this store, all of whom are terrific. When it's super busy it's super busy so avoid high traffic times if you don't want to wait long to check out. Hint: even if the self check is 10pp long it goes faster than you think because it rotates out 6 customers per cycle. Lines seem longer with 6 feet physical distancing, too. Anyway, good store.

My favorite market. Clean, well stocked and fresh produce. For some reason they stopped selling field roast (Meat Substitute) I prefer this brand to the new miracle meat substitute. Hopefully they will bring it back.

I drive past 2 other Safeway stores to go to this one. The store is large enough that the selection is good, it is always clean, and the staff has always made sure that everyone shopping here is as safe as possible.

Exceptionally helpful and kind help by LYNN on March 26th. I was in gruesome pain with a hip issue and had a friend helping me with groceries. Lynn was especially nice and helpful at check out, really makes a difference. Excellent Safeway with a superb selection at all times stocking product that a closer Safeway on 15th & East John doesn't. Thanks again so much.
