Incredible store. All things needed for camping 🏕, hiking, walking, biking. Bikes, clothes, shoes, camping gear. Coays too. Shoe selection along with specialty socks. Check out this place. Employees available to help you. Their credit card has amazing perks too.

Went to the REI Oakbrook location to shop for gear for an upcoming half marathon in Colorado. I cannot thank employee Nicole enough for the help she gave me and my friends. Was super knowledgeable on all products and had a friendly energy despite it being near closing time. Helped me find the perfect pair of trail runners and a hydration vest. Even went the extra mile and was demonstrating how to insert a bladder into the hydration vest if I wanted to go that route. She was the best and she deserves some praise! Also signed up for a membership and will definitely be back soon for more gear.

Came in to buy a bike rack but also ended purchasing a bike as well. Melissa - was outstanding! She made sure the bike was 100% before purchasing everything. AND she assembled our bike rack on the spot when we requested!

Every time we go to the store we receive excellent customer service, but Melissa went above and beyond to make sure we left the store with everything we needed to know about our new bike and bike carrier!

Love REI! Best store for hiking,biking and skiing needs and clothes! Just bought a perfect daypack for traveling in Europe! I like the REI brand but they have all the majors as well

This REI has a great variety of outdoor products and an excellent staff to assist with any questions that you may have. I went in to purchase a tent and the staff member Kirk helped me set up several tents in the store so that I could compare their sizes and make a decision. Their customer service was excellent and Kirk had all the answers to my plethora of questions.

I bought a bike today and I wanted to say that Melissa was amazing!! This was my first time with a higher end road bike. I had so many questions and she was really patient with everything. She recommended things I would need and made as many adjustments as I needed. Had a great experience

Service was great, Yvonne was so helpful with fitting us into a perfect pair of men's 13-wide hiking shoes - which is NOT easy to do! :)

Had a great experience buying ski boots, even though there was initial trouble finding a size that fit. Member for life now

Found this online and REI provides many types of classes for all to learn. REI had two instructors that were welcoming, very patient and helpful with all riders. They started with proper sizing, introduced balance and ended with beginner "riding". Not all students will get the hang of it on their first try. They have a lot to obsorb in two hours. Did feel this was a much better environent to learn, encourage and grow. This session was located outside the front of the store, hidden by a driveway and grove of trees. There is a port-o-let for convenience, otherwise can wait until REI opens to use the washrooms. Would recommend this for kids to Learn to Ride a a bike.

Genene in the shoe section was amazing! Absolutely knew her stuff, expertly juggled several of us shopping at once, and understood my wide foot dilemma completely. I’ve never had somebody so good at finding shoes for me.

Seymore working in the shoes department today (May 11, 2024) was super helpful and friendly, and helped me find the shoes I was looking for.

They seem so knowledgeable about everything in the store and are so friendly. This store is great place to go to if you’re getting into anything outdoorsy because of that. I can be clueless and they always have an answer that helps me make an informed decision. It might make spending a bit more than other places worth it

Despite the fact that their big Labor Day weekend sale was going on, the checkout line moved swiftly and the cashier was a delight. There was a sales associate floating around most sections of the store ready to answer questions. The racks were full, the store didn't feel picked over. I found what I went into REI for...and then some more.

This place is wonderful! I'm a newcomer to the world of camping, and when I got here, I didn't know where to start. However, an experienced team member named Joe was quick to help me get my bearings. Joe went above and beyond my expectations. First, he helped me pick out the right tent and sleeping bag setup for my needs. Then, he went to the trouble of measuring me for a backpack, picking out several suitable backpacks, and teaching me how to load and adjust them to fit my body. The whole process took upwards of 2 hours, but Joe was patient, helpful, and kind at every stage of the process. All the other staffers I spoke with were friendly and helpful, too. The next time I need any outdoor supplies, I know where I'm going. 🙂

I went to buy shoes based on my foot doctor’s recommendation. Hoka’s were very high on that list. I worked with Keith at their store in Oakbrook. He was amazing!!! He took so much time with me and explained the difference between the styles of Hoka’s. He double checked my foot size, offered suggestions even on socks!!! I tried on a few different style and bought the Clifton style. They are like walking on clouds… very cushioned and supportive. I joined the REI membership too. I told Keith I appreciated all the time he answered my questions and time he took with me. I’ll be back at the store in the future. Great customer service all around!!!

This REI has the kindest, most knowledgeable, helpful people on the planet. Specifically Mary and Deb, who treated me like one of their own, giving great advice based on their real world experiences. As a young woman getting into hiking, these women inspired me and helped me get my gear set for my first climb! If you’re a young woman - or anyone really - ask for Mary or Deb!

I went in, was helped by a sales associate, bought to pair of hiking boots that had two totally different feels to them and as a member am allowed to return one or both if they don't feel right for me. That was important to me because I am planning a big hike and couldn't possibly make a decision on fit in the store. The store associate was very knowledgeable and a hiker herself and very easy to work with. I was in and out in under 20 mimutes.

I'm totally in awe of the great customer service Ethan at the REI store in oakbrook provided. I called them in an emergency needing to find a duplicate key for my thuke bike rack. ETHAN not only took time out of his busy schedule of supporting many customers to talk to me but also promised to help me. He was kind and helpful. IT took him a few minutes to find me the key, but when I offered to pay, he said there is not a charge for finding the key. I offered to buy him coffee, but he also respectfully declined. I truly truly truly appreciate everything Ethan did to provide support to me today. I'm a REI and Ethan fan. Thank you soooooo much. It is so rare to see this kind of customer service nowadays. You have great people like Ethan to make your customer's day! Thanks again!!!
