Dover Veterinary Hospital

I recently switched to Dover Veterinary Hospital on the recommendation of a friend. I’m so glad I made the switch. They took wonderful care of our dog. They listened to our concerns and were kind and helpful from Nelly at the front desk to the nurse to Dr. McCarthy. I’m so glad I found them.

My cat Peregrine got her spay this week and the staff here were very kind and attentive, they really helped keep my mind at ease. Grateful to have a trustworthy family vet so close to home! (Added another photo of her in her surgery shirt!)

The whole team at Dover Veterinarian Hospital is absolutely amazing. The level of care, communication and love they showed for my dogs has been incredible. I think they are the only veterinarian hospital I would trust with end of life services. From the normal vet vist to even a surgery, they have showed so much care for my dogs. Every step of the way they communicated and explained things so well. As well as they check in after visits to see how everything is. I cannot recommend them more. Plus you can tell they absolutely love animals. They care for them as if they were their own. (photos sent from them as well 💜)

The people at Dover Veterinary Hospital are so friendly and explain everything well. They make me and my puppy feel so comfortable and taken care of! Even once you are back home with your pet, the response time from Dover Vet is so fast - I never have to wait long for a response to a question or a concern. Love that they follow up the next day to check in on my pup.

My cat of almost 22 years saw many vets as I'd moved a few times during her lifespan. Dover Veterinary Hospital was by far and away the best. The end of life treatment they gave her plus the love and affection that they give my two dogs is nothing short of remarkable. They handled the passing of our cat with such empathy and grace helping take care of the whole family.
The staff are incredible, from the front desk to the techs and the doctors. Everyone there has a true love and fondness for every creature great and small.
I would highly recommend DVH to any new pet owner or anyone thinking about getting a new pet or anyone new to the area.

I have trusted all my dogs with Dr Renner. She takes the time and makes me feel like she knows and cares about my babies. Everyone in the office is friendly and pleasant

Everyone is so very pleasant and welcoming. They are always happy to see my dogs (currently have a GSMD and Great Dane) during their visits. They take good care of them when they are there having their routine exam, shots or puppy checkups. Dr. Rene always has good advice and is very down to earth and does not mince words. Vet Techs spoil my dogs when they are visiting and enjoy their time with them. Very easy going place to take your pets to! We have been with the practice for over 10 years and they have been wonderful to all our past 4-legged babies as well.

I brought my recent rescue dog to Dover Veterinary Hospital for concerns of allergies and an overall wellness check. Every single staff member was very kind and helpful. They got me an appointment that day! Dr. Richards is amazing. Kind, knowledgeable, and understanding. The facility is clean and comfortable. Most importantly they treated Mattie and I with such kindness. Thank you all so much!

As I said before I wouldn't go anywhere else and for many good reasons first my dog loves going and not because of cookie, two I feel safe taking him there in which I have never with any other vets through the years including the biggest names we all know for over 20 years or so, three if there is any concerns I honestly feel they can help solve or the know how to solve, four really great people work there that make you feel that your companion is there first concern as we all would like to feel with blood thirsty doctors with our own health. To know that weight of bricks is lifted off your shoulders on everything I said above is worth everything I owe and can't be replaced. If your looking for honest, trustworthy, caring people unconditionally when it comes to your loving family member look no where else I will never have to search again as long as I decide to have my best Friends!!

Had a nice experience bringing my cat Pillow in for his vaccines and annual check up. I made a mistake and forgot my morning appointment, they called and nicely mentioned my appointment. I was so bummed I made this mistake knowing how busy Veterinarians are already. They kindly rescheduled us and it was quite a pleasure. Always nice to know my pets are in the best of hands from front staff to techs and of course the docs! Thanks Dr Richards for your kindness and thoroughness in keeping Pillow as healthy as possible!

I have been going to Dover Vet since 1998 and wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff from the Veterinarians to the tech's take such good care of both the animals and humans in a professional and caring manner. You can tell how much they all love their jobs. They have been there from the first few months as a puppy to their final days as a senior all with love, gentleness and kindness. I would highly recommend this hospital to one and all.

The team is exceptionally friendly, accommodating, helpful, and empathetic. Dr. Rennie has made a significant effort to monitor and support our cats glucose levels. Her concern for his health mirrors our own, which is immeasurable.

Moved to the area in 2020 from Colorado. Started taking all three of our dogs here, and they are by far one of the best vets I’ve ever been too. Prices are reasonable and they do not try to up-sale you on frivolous things your pet doesn’t need. Also, Dr. Rennie is absolutely amazing with our pets by far the best vet we’ve ever seen. They truly care about your pets. Highly recommend their practice!!!

Best vet practice! We fully trust their judgement and are so grateful for Dr. Richards. Without her expertise, our older cat would’ve had a tough time beating mammory cancer. The last couple years, they have always been so accommodating with us. Dr. Richards has been so kind and understanding, and always advising us to make the best decision for our cats while also not breaking the bank. We love this place!

All the staff are welcoming, kind and SO helpful! It was my first visit with a new puppy, and everyone was so sweet and had no problem answering my questions and making us both feel comfortable. They were all so amazing!

I had called around to 6 different vet offices, including an emergency vet who said they had no Dr.'s on to see my pup. Dover was my 7th call and they were able to see my fur baby within the hour. My pup has a great fear of car rides and strangers. He was already sick, and then stressed from the car. Dr. McCarthy and her team were incredibly caring and gentle. Working together, we calmed my baby down enough so she could examine him. She immediately started him on some meds and they checked in on him daily. They are great with responding to text with questions and information.
I've lost 3 of my last pups due to some form of neglect from their vet. Two just 2 years ago, and 4 months apart. I am petrified of vets now. It takes a lot to get me to trust that they care and will help. So far, I'm very happy with the care they've given my Peanut.

I love love love dover veterinary hospital, McCarthy is such an amazing doctor all of my cats love her, specially my black cat. The staff there is amazing, very friendly, and the work area very clean. I definitely recommend dover veterinary hospital. I don't have anything negative to say about. The staff is fantastic!!!!
