What a wonderful experience! The coffee is quality, and the custard had great taste and texture (I had peppermint). The indoor and outdoor seating are plentiful. The owners put a lot of love and care into this place. Highly recommended and a must-stop for coffee and dessert lovers!

Friendly service and great atmosphere! A great place to spend some time working or hanging out. I loved the strawberry lemonade smoothie. The frappe was kinda icy and melted quickly. Good gluten free brownie.

Amazing coffee and custard shop with great service. You feel right at home! Great area for kids too with an activity table to keep them occupied while the adults enjoy their coffee and delicious custards!! As if thatbwerent enough, buying here supports a great cause and we are all about that! Definately 5 stars!!!

Our first visit was this past Saturday. We were so impressed. The coffee was so good as was the custard. The service was gracious. We appreciate that they work so well and patently with their employees. We plan to make this place one of our regular go-to's.

If you only want the best then you have come to the right place! Their frozen custard is what separates them from the rest.
The service is amazing.
The place is clean and the atmosphere is great!
If they have a line it is well worth the wait!
And their new food truck can be liked and followed on Facebook.

Highly recommend the frozen custard and I’m from Milwaukee! Got the vanilla in an affogato (amazing!) and tried samples of both pumpkin and espresso flavors - both excellent!

I will certainly be making this coffee shop a routine coffee and breakfast place when I am in town!! Not only did I receive such wonderful service and absolutely delicious coffee, I also got such a genuine and heartfelt hug from Chris at time I really needed one. I strongly encourage everyone and anyone to please stop and support this wonderful coffee shop. Words cannot express how much I appreciate this place.

5 star experience in every aspect! Delicious food, friendly service, unique industrial building and location. We got a spinach/cheese pastry that was amazing & a breakfast croissant. It was nice having somewhere we could go to get a late breakfast around noon. We ordered with coffees and ate outside. Pretty mountain views in a unique industrial location (supposedly was an old silk mill at one point in time). Afterwards, we split a dessert special of an Apple pastry topped with custard and chocolate caramel drizzle. A must go if your in the area.

Its so festive and cheerful in the shop! Employees very friendly and the custard is amazing!!

This place is great! I love the lemon custard with a lemon blueberry cookie 🤤 tonight the staff helped me out. Chris’s Coffee and Custard is such a sweet little hidden gem in Roanoke! I ordered Chris’s fave and my friend got a cookies and cream milkshake. Both were delicious! The space was decorated so cute for Christmas and the staff was super friendly. 100% would recommend! :)

Great place to sit & relax while drinking Coffee or Custard. It’s so so good not to mention the friendly faces that greet you as you enter the door! Chris is so kind and I loved meeting him. Fantastic little hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back, wish we lived closer. Ha!

My iced coffee was great. My brother got the vanilla custard and loved it. The cafe’s atmosphere was amazing and had board games and other fun activities to do inside. Love the intention behind the cafe. Would definitely recommend going there!

Okay, so not only do they have a great purpose with the disability community, but their food is great too! I got a pastry that was very good and my partner got a breakfast sandwich that was HUGE for the price. They also made an excellent latte and has unique drinks as well. They also have very good custard - smooth and creamy and it doesn't melt too quickly the way some custards do. Will definitely be back.

Chris’s Custard is a coffee house with good food. It is nice that it is close to Garden City and South East Roanoke. I found it convenient for me to travel to and it’s also not too far away from South Roanoke.

I was pleasantly welcomed by a young gentleman who pointed out to me the coffee and food items. He also showed me the seating area. I thought to myself “is this the Hotel Roanoke”. Wow a staff member that greets you as the door with a big smile. The red carpet treatment is nice.

I sat and had a good cup of coffee. I liked that fact that the tables offer room to read and write. It’s a nice place with nice folks working there. This friendly place well deserves a 5 star rating.

Came here for the 1st time it was a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The staff was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. It was a bit pricey but definitely worth it.

Chris’s Coffee and Custard makes and serves the tremendous soft custard I remember from my childhood in Ohio. This custard, alone or incorporated into one of the shop’s tasty treats, like milkshakes and frappes, is worth traveling away from mainstream Roanoke eateries. A cup of locally roasted and in-house brewed coffee plus a fresh salad or wrap makes a great late breakfast or lunch.

The premises are immaculate and fully handicap accessible, from a sturdy entrance ramp and maneuverable space within the shop to the roomy and handsome restroom. Comfortable barstools, high tables, and low benches in the entrance/service area make waiting for orders relaxing and hospitable. There is also a spacious gathering area around the corner from the entrance and outdoor seating.

Looking for more of Chris’s goodies, watch for the shop’s new food truck at local outdoor gatherings beginning September 2023. Chris’s Coffee and Custard is more than an outlet for goodies to eat, it furnishes substantial and paying jobs for young adults with special needs. So, if, now and then, a server might be slow or does not comprehend a complicated order, breathe easily and enjoy a few extra minutes of relaxation. Your order will be perfect and satisfying when it arrives.

This place is so cute! Easily accessible parking lot, good food, as many coffee options as you could want, and super welcoming staff! I came on a Thursday morning for hours of studying. Plenty of places to sit, good WiFi, and the perfect coffee shop atmosphere ❤☕ Found my new spot!
