Three Whistles - Eat Drink Work

One of my favorite cafes to work at in the Clarendon/Arlington area. The staff are incredibly friendly, their lattes are delicious, they have tables where one can stand at, plenty of plugs, fast Wifi, and organized activities at night.

During the workday, it also acts as a co-working cafe, which requires an additional subscription to sit in that area. But there are a few seating options in the front of the store.

I would also highly recommend their gelato and empanadas if one wants a late night snack or a midday treat!

My favorite coffee shop. ❤ Friendly servers, charming boho decor, great drinks and empanadas, open late & perfect for getting work done or hanging with a friend. They also host live music and various events on the weekends.

Love this place, amazing atmosphere, amazing service and amazing pastries. You can ask to get them warmed up and they come out with an incredible crisp. They have live music on the weekends and the ambiance is super chill, I have gone with my family here and they also have ice cream for the kids. The guys at the counter are super friendly and treat everyone very nice. Definitely will be a go to place while I am in the area.

Great coffee and empanadas! The space is comfy. It was a lovely Friday catching up on work. I’ll also add you don’t need to be a member to work at this space, as I had thought that previously before reading a review today. Glad I came to check it out. Will be back!

I’ve been coming here for over a year. I love it.
My gotos: Affogato Epresso, cortado, beetroot latte(hot)

Overall, the food is great but the star of the show is the gelato. With a number of flavors to choose from, anyone looking for a moment resembling an explosion of flavors and some late-day energy need to try an affogato with pistachio gelato. Anyways, the Jamaican empanada is my goto option for food right now. The cookies and QUASON🥐 are great options for quick snacks.

The overall atmosphere is tied to the level of service here: respect goes along way. It truly is the closest cafe resembling an European atmosphere in the area; the work component really brings a sense of community to the cafe fostering many opportunities to network, study, work, or research. If you have goals to accomplish and need a second office this is the best option to declutter your primary workspace or the mental fog at home.

If you’re heading towards the nightlife locations around 3W wouldn’t be a bad place to capitalize on a 5pm-8pm happy hour. They also host events after office-hours which again builds on the community atmosphere cultivated here.

ThreeWhistles is a great spot to get some work done while having great food and a cup of coffee, or wine or beer. Has quiet sections for those that prefer minimal distractions while they work, and great live music on Friday nights.

I only had coffee, but I highly recommend. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the coffee on point - what's not to love? I haven't tried the gelato but it looks awesome and I'll definitely give it a try on a future visit.

12/30/2022 Husband and I ate two croissants, a beer and an Earl Grey tea, two mini quiches and a banana nut muffin as well as a coca cola, and a juice drink. It cost about $30. We also enjoyed a fantastic live performance at the Three Whistles.

Late night tea and live music. Great place\hidden gem to hide and read a book! Great karaoke, gives a small town cosy feel of home. I LOVE it here- keep businesses like these around!

I love three whistles so much. It is an absolute gem in Arlington. The gelato is amazing. The cafe snacks are great too. I went there for dinner one night and was impressed by my meal. Ok Thursdays they host community dance night and it's so fun. They have open mics. During the day it's a great place to get work done. The art on the walls is great. The best part of this place is the staff. They are all so friendly and nice. I can't say enough good words about this place, you just have to go yourself.

The new management has turned this around, love it!! Gone are the days the old management would freak out if you sat with your coffee for more than 15 minutes. New ownership is super friendly, brews good coffee, and has made the place so beautiful. Plus they have Turkish coffee!

Georgia is an incredible barista and made 3 delicious lattes for us this morning. Not only that, she brought them and our breakfast items out to our table, so we didn’t have to stand around and wait for them. She and the Three Whistles staff are always accommodating and go the extra mile for their customers. Highly recommend the turtle latte (Lg size comes with 4 shots 🙌🏼) and the Jamaican beef empanada!

Unique. Cozy coffee spot compared to most of the cookie cutter corporate type places. It is a coworking space during the day on weekday. Dance classes on Thursday are great. Empanadas and quiche are tasty. Always clean and welcoming.

If it were physically possible to make love to a coffee shop, this would be the one. I'm one of those people that needs to get out of the house to be productive on the computer and this place is everything I want and look for in a cafe work space.
-The coffee is strong and delicious.
-The staff is attentive yet laid back and unpretentious.
-The interior is just the right about of funky with lots of different kinds of seating and work surfaces with outlets everywhere.
-The temperature is perfect and not too cold after several hours of sitting.
-The music is ambient, chill lounge music, not too loud.
-And best of all - they are open late into the night!
I have been haunting this place almost daily since I moved to Arlington and will continue to do so until they issue me a restraining order.

It was quite busy when we arrived, the person work was on their own and was polite, direct, and kind. We did have to wait for a really reasonable amount of time, and felt comfortable and cozy. Thank you!

One of the best coffee shops around, certainly the best in Arlington. Great coffee that's decently priced, super nice staff. Food is ok but vibes are great and wifi is always fast. I've been here probably 50 times lol this is my go to place to study

My husband and I have been going to Three Whistles for years and it is one of our favorite spots in Clarendon! It has great atmosphere, delicious drinks, food, and gelato, and the team is always friendly, gracious, and welcoming. They keep things fresh throughout the years and maintain a comfortable, laid back vibe. We always love our time.

The staff are friendly. The coffee is next level and delicious, especially the guy who makes the coffee with the bunny in the foam, that guy knows how to make coffee.
