Hayward Public Library

It's one of the best public libraries I've been to. Very spacious, has 3 floors, computers, and a lot of tables with electric outlets to charge your gadgets. Very quiet. There's even private study rooms you can use, but a reservation is needed.

Beautifully designed building with tons of resources to read, learn, and access public utilities. The folks who work here are friendly and resourceful. Your library card grants a ton of benefits too outside of just what is in this building. Very cool and a great example of the good ways our public funding is used.

Very cool place to visit, various study spaces, computers, cafe, and seed lending library. Nice manga collection. Teen and children areas, as well as a bookstore. Worth visiting

Our new public library is amazing. It has plenty of light from all of the windows and many places to sit as well and study or work. And of course, there are books there which is the best thing of all

I may be biased, but the building is just stunning. Add to that the amount of art all around the building, both the permanent and constantly changing displays in partnership with the Hayward Arts Council, make this a worthy destination.
The library has a wide array of programs, and the various interactive features in the children's room as well as the beautiful Heritage Plaza right across the street, make the library a fun place to visit for the entire family

It's a wonderful place, I'm so glad that I can visit it with a child. Always clean toilets and a great area for children and activities, we appreciate it. It's a pity that homeless people can't be kicked out

I love the library and all the services they provide. It goes beyond books, music and movies. In addition to the Link+ service and the discount program for museums, they have a maker space and park pass for state parks.

This was my first visit to the new Hayward Main library...beautiful and spacious very clean...maybe some of the library employees at the information desks could be reminded to use their "library voices" still 5 stars 10 if it was an option

Great experience, very helpful staff. There is a group activity (singing, story telling etc) for babies, toddlers and preschoolers on Saturday morning, it was very engaging for my child.

Children's section is very organized, clean and easy to navigate, that's the only section I visited.

Proud to be a Hayward resident. This library is the embodiment of community and learning! Modern facility with beautiful neat park in front of it. Wonderful time here!

Very helpful with helping me sign-up to get a library card to check out some Manga books, they even held on to them for a week until I complete my identification process

Best public library in the east bay. Really love the modern facilities here.

Wonderful library!

This is a very new and well equipped library. The building is beautiful and they have an awesome children section where they do several events a week. They have a discovery area and a homework room.
The adults section has a good variety and volume of titles and it's very relaxing too.
Across the street they have a beautiful and also new park.

Great place to study in a room set for 1 or up to 4 people

Update: Not a lot of people know that there’s also a Seed Bank on the top floor. I got some wildflower seeds from there and happy to say that all of them sprouted and look healthy. You can also contribute if you have a few spare seeds.

I love this place! Great collection, plenty of space to read, lot of facilities within the library and fun place for kids.

There is a huge selection of books for children to choose from. I take my son and my niece as much as possible. Apart from the books they enjoy the play area. The place is neat and clean. Haven't had any issues since coming here so I will continue to visit.

10/10 this is a great work space. 2hr wrk room slots are available.

Modern design meets creative at this library. There's a floor for Children, for Teens, for adults. There is a café that's part of the building and plenty of space to do your assignments. I loved it. Fancy bathroom as well, 👍
