Stay True Cycles

This place is my go-to shop for work needed on a high end bike. They perfectly tuned my Shimano di2 electric shifter (which 2 other nearby shops failed to do - the clearance & acceptable range is miniscule and has to be just right). They even helped repair my ride after a bike accident, and worked with what was repairable rather than just trying to sell a bunch of new components.

Their pricing is totally fair, and I'm sure they do exceptional work for bikes of all types and price points.

Community first bike shop with incredible knowledge and service. They've been super helpful with everything from advice to spoke replacement to whole bike builds. Quality work done in a timely manner. I'm glad i get to call this my Local Bike Shop. Their group rides are welcoming and awesome as well!

This is the best shop for mountain bike repair in the East Bay, possibly the entire Bay area. If you are serious about MTB, and have exacting standards about your repairs, bring your bike here. They are super detail oriented, and excellent with suspension rebuilds. The owner is super knowledgeable.

Absolutely the best bike shop in the Bay Area. These guys are so knowledgeable and so helpful. I always trust that they will take great care of my bikes and do it properly at a very reasonable rate.

Really great experience with the few staff I interacted with. Jonah was especially helpful and transparent about what they could do to help with the brakes on my e-bike. Pricing was very fair, and turn around time was quick. One of the best experiences I've had at a bike shop. Highly recommend.

Impressive, fast and free service. Bought a bike that required assembly, but had trouble with the last part of tuning the disk brakes. Another shop quoted me $160 with a 3 week lead time. REI didn't answer the phone. Came in to Stay True Cycles and the guy fixed it on the spot in 5 minutes and then didn't charge me for it. 😮 I will be happy to come back to this place for service when I need some help next time.

The support and community feel they bring to their shop is unmatched, and I’ve been working in customer service for 21 years. Top notch bike repair shop. They are always super helpful. The staff have a huge amount of knowledge across all types of bicycles.

Really thankful for this shop in Berkeley. Ian and Nick and the crew have worked on multiple of my bikes (from old steel commuter to carbon full suspension 29er) and they always do an excellent job at a reasonable cost.

I left a low score review a while ago, but I found my receipt and it appears I accidentally selected the wrong bike shop from the list when I searched. I'm really sorry to the owners and techs, I'm sure you guys do great work based on the other reviews here.

I do not recommend "Street Level Cycles"

Popped a spoke and bent my rim. These guys were recommended by a friend and they were great. Jonah straightened the rim better than I thought possible. Quick, friendly, fair pricing. I'll definitely be back

Gone to STC a few times for any of my bike repair needs. They do a tremendous job at a reasonable price with quick turn around. Nice people to boot, what more could you want?

Stay True has become my go to shop in the area, and for good reason. I’m a relatively capable mechanic that does a lot of my own work at home, but these guys are always ready to lend a helping hand when I get in over my head. The mechanics are extremely competent, friendly, and accessible. It should also be noted that they have far and away the best labor rates I’ve seen in the Bay Area, and only charge for the time they spend.

Bottom line, I feel great taking my bike babies here, and know that they’re in very good hands when I do.

Headset troubles were quickly sorted out by an experienced mechanic. Total cost was completely reasonable and the friendly shop-dog was an added bonus! Thanks Stay True Cycles!

Fixed my persistent creaky cassette problem in minutes when other shops have failed to ID the problem for weeks. So happy to have an LBS in N Berkeley again!

Jonah & team have helped me out three times recently with fast professional work on high-end gear. They're one of the few Bay Area shops I could find that would do Ride wrap. Also, they're now next door to Cheeseboard 👍
