La Penca Azul

One of our very favorite places to eat as a family in Alameda. All of the same, fantastic menu options as the location on Park Street, but much more of a chill vibe and much easier parking. Nice outside dining next to the water, and a really pleasant staff as well.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, nice atmosphere, very good food.

Omg I had the vegetarian super burrito, and it was so good. I miss it so much 😍 can't wait to have it again.

I love Fridays at La Penca. Chicken nachos and margaritas........can't go wrong with those on Friday.

We had a Christmas party and the staff was GREAT!!! Food was EXCELLENT and served hot and correct orders! Had a wonderful time!

Awesome food!!! You have to try the shrimp that chicho the cook Prepared for us. The best shrimp I've ever tasted in my life. Can't weigh to go visit again.

First time here and I wasn't disappointed at all. This place is located in the heart of Alameda and always busy! We waited about 10-15mins to be seated, but you can walk around and go window shopping since they take your number down and text you when your table is ready. The atmosphere is very busy with a lot of chatter, very upbeat and has a lot of energy. I ordered the New Mexico Enchilada with Carnita and two eggs. It was very flavorful and quite a big portion, so come hungry! My date had two tacos and a green chilie verde enchilada and two tacos. The tacos were nice and big, however the tortillas could have used either butter or dipped into some grease to have that taco truck flavor. Other than that, our experience here was very welcoming and I will definitely be back for more delicious food!

Came in for lunch right as they opened and was blown away by the size of portions and quality of food! Did not expect to get such a great value and the taste was amazing!

Pencil Azul in Harbor Bay now has beautiful outdoor seating overlooking the water. One of our sodas was served in a cracked glass, but was quickly replaced when brought to server's attention. The super famoso burrito was enough for two to share.

Stopped in for lunch, very good quality food and salsa. We will have to try the tequila samplers next time in for dinner

Not enough servers for the number of people being seated. The server showed up just to take the order, deliver the food, and never stop again. Busboy/assistant had to jump in to take care of the rest. Including to bring the check to me

Love this place! Perfect for lunch. I go during the week as it’s close to my work. The service is on point, the prices are good, and the food is delicious. What else can you ask for?

We've been to the Alameda location several times, this was our first experience at this location. The food was as great as ever, as were the drinks. The tequila selection appeared to be the same as well. They just reopened for dine in and they have outside seating as well with a great view, ample parking too!

They have a great happy hour every day starting at 2. 6 dollar margaritas and 2 street tacos for $5. Very tasty! Lots of outdoor seating. Very pleasant staff. Jr. Is a great kid, so friendly and personable, a real asset to the restaurant.
