What a wonderful gem of a store!! The selection of furniture, rugs and art pieces is incredible — beautiful, unique and gorgeous items. It is design center style and quality but at very reasonable prices considering the quality.

The team at SOBU was also incredibly helpful. We bought two large rugs from them for our home. We bought one and were so happy with it that we immediately came back and bought another. While we were deciding they gave us large samples to take home so could see them in the space. They also offered great design advice along the way. And they helped us find great rugs in stock (not always easy in the design world). They were incredibly patient, responsive and helpful — both in person at the store and over email.

Love the selection and a great experience!! Highly recommend this wonderful store.

We love love LOVE SOBU and ALL of the gorgeous furniture and home decor they create and sell. We've slowly been furnishing our space and have very happily purchased several living and dining room pieces which have been not only stylish but also strong and practical for our family with young children (hard to imagine - but they've figured it out). We love that we don't have to compromise on style in order to check all of the other boxes of things we need from our staple furniture pieces... We will be buying more from SOBU and couldn't recommend them, more highly.

We ordered a Teena side table and not only did it turn out to be even better than expected, but arrived in record time. We'll definitely order again.

We recently purchased a rug from Sobu and had a great experience. Kate and Claire are very skilled with design and helped us select the perfect rug for our room. I absolutely LOVE my Leviathan live edge 118" table. I was very nervous purchasing this piece because I wasn't able to see it in person but Laleh assured me that I would love it - and when it came I fell in love instantly. It was exactly what I was looking for! It's truly a statement piece and everyone who comes to my house comments on how beautiful and well-made it is.

The entire process was seamless and everyone on the Sobu team was very helpful and wonderful to work with. Now I just need chairs to pair it with!!!

Alessandro is a brilliant designer with extraordinary empathy for his clients. In upgrading our coffee table, we wanted something which was both a powerful aesthetic statement as well as an incredibly functional furniture item. We wanted to incorporate a USB-C charging hub as the center, and such offerings simply don't exist across Wayfair, Amazon, and the big box retailers. Alessandro relished the challenge of upgrading an ETHNICRAFT offering with a minimalist approach. We absolutely love our new coffee table and we wish SOBU many more years of enriching homes and businesses across the East Bay and beyond!

This review is overdue. I have been eye balling this table since October 2020. After months of searching, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased. Was hesitant because I did not see it in person. However, no regrets here. It is absolutely beautiful. We get compliments on it all the time. The table and bench are extra sturdy. We look forward to passing it down to our children and keeping it in the family.

Ordered an Ethnicraft table from them to use as a work desk. Service was great through these interesting times. Shipping was delayed as expected for Christmas 2021 (not their fault) and to their credit, they were helpful with providing me updates when I called and gave me tips on how to take care of it. The wood is extremely sturdy with beautiful grain and details.

The store is also super cozy. One notable thing is that they carry locally crafted Maruni Hiroshima style chairs, famously used here at Apple HQ and many other design-minded places in Japan, at a much more accessible price point.

I’m an interior designer and Sobu is my go to for reasonably priced solid wood furniture pieces, art and objects that feel well made and special. Their team is friendly and highly knowledgeable and responsive.

We LOVE our smoked acacia live edge table/benches. They are amazing quality and Robin, Alex and everyone atSOBU was wonderful to work with. This was a total gamble to buy something site unseen, but love was blind and I couldn’t ask for a better set for our dining room!!

We recently purchased a stunningly beautiful Mars live edge dining table with T legs and Sven chairs for our kitchen. We have a large kitchen banquette and it fit perfectly. We have two teenage boys and we were worried about having something so nice in our kitchen, but we were wrong. It is so durable and gorgeous at the same time. It brings me joy every time I look at it. Alessandro was so accommodating at working with us for the sizing and choosing the slab that would look best. The customer service and flexibility were outstanding . I highly recommend this store for any furniture and design needs!

I'm not usually the type to write reviews, but Sobu went above and beyond with their customer service. We ordered their Leviathan Live Edge Table and we absolutely fell in love with it, but the first and second installation of the table came out wobbly.

After a few times of swapping legs and tabletops, we finally found a pair that worked for us. Thank you Laleh for making this dining table a dream set! Nothing makes us more happy than coming home and seeing our table in the middle of our home! It's beautiful!

We ordered a dinning room table from SOBU website. I have never been in the store. I was so nervous on making a big purchase online without seeing it in person. But I had searched locally and couldn’t find anything close in comparison to the the same table. So I decided to take a chance and ordered the table. It took about 8 weeks to get. But that seems very normal for a big furniture purchase. SOBU and their employees were in constant contact and sent updates via email. Would purchase again and have already had many people ask where the table came from!

Got one of their dining tables delivered recently. Is great quality for a great price. Was delivered in about 4 weeks, which i thought was amazing right now. I ordered a desk from another company 4 months ago and am still waiting. Wish they had some more chair options as I like chairs that are not very high off the ground so my feet touch the floor. :)

Love the in house-design chairs! Prompt and great communication. Also love the live edge bench we got at a warehouse sale.

We are in love with our reclaimed wood coffee table and fabric chair. Our table has tons of hidden storage space (good for a small house), and the variegated wood adds warmth and interest to our living room. The table will probably be with us forever. I think the furniture that Sobu makes in in line with the aesthetics and values of many people in the Bay Area. It is durable, practical, comfortable, sustainable, and beautiful.
Sobu is a local family owned business, so I guess it is no surprise that they offer excellent service. The first time a table was delivered to our home there was a slight imperfection. The owners immediately offered to replace it with another table. I feel very comfortable buying from them in the future, since I know they will stand by their products.
