Market Hall Foods Oakland

Market Hall is like my pantry and refrigerator! I have been a regular here since its inception and the quality never varies from excellent. The staff is extraordinarily competent and friendly, even at the busiest times of day. Love this place!

Boutique European style market next to Rockridge Bart. I don’t shop there because I’m a online delivery person but my husband loves patronizing the different vendors especially the wine for unique selections, seafood, and meat.

I like their tastings they do with different themes.

Today was my first time going in to this gourmet food market, even though I have driven by it numerous times

This market carries high quality foods including freshly made pasta (I saw them actually making it, and the prices are less than another store that makes their own).

Cheese lovers--if you live in the East Bay you got to see what they have--an impressive bunch of cheeses.

I know that they are expensive, but if you are in to gourmet foods, you got to check out what they carry.

Mid-January, 2022, we had to wait in line outside the store (which I appreciated). There was hand sanitizer available, and they don't let too many people in at one time.

Tip: be sure and take a number if you want to buy any ready made hot dishes to save time.

If Market Hall Bakery were to close and I could never have another of their cheese bread with rosemary ham freshly baked, life would lose so much of its value. Their bakery is phenomenal.

Undeniably the best in the Bay Area, according to visits I made all across metro SF couple years ago. May not be true today but it’s still shockingly fab. Go every couple weeks to Oakland store to stock my larder. 🧀🥩🍷

Market Hall Foods is the heart of Rockridge and the most vibrant food marketplace in Oakland or perhaps the entire East Bay.

For more than 30 years Market Hall Foods has imported some of the best sweet and savory foods from Europe and other countries as well as being famous for their locally made pastas, which are sold in other stores as well.

Market Hall Foods is a great place to go to pick up salads or other deli food, cheeses and charcuterie for lunch or a picnic. They also try to find the most interesting and delicious food gifts from local, small producers as well as artisan food makers from around the world.

Unlike most reviewers of this very special food store, which is across the street from BART, I am delivering you “insider” knowledge as someone who has worked there in the grocery department helping customers pick out perfect foods.

I ordered online, so have not been to the store. Terrific experience. Easy to find products online, no issues ordering. Stellar customer service. I wanted something that was sold out and they called me to let me know when it would be available. I ordered Mariage Frères Paris Breakfast. it came quickly. I also ordered Russian Breakfast when it was available and it came right away. I would recommend them for a great selection of products and quick service!

Market Hall Foods has a fantastic selection of quality products and prepared dishes that make busy weeknight dinners and special dinner parties a breeze! Just ask the trusted cheesemongers for their suggestion of domestic and international cheeses with a nice dried fruit or jam pairing and you'll be impressing your friends and family. Incredibly well appointed spot for the Gourmand in all of us including specialty items from all over Europe, the Middle East, and Asia that appealed to the particular palette of the East Bay, a Crossroads of culinary Adventure, the staff that know just about everything about food. Luckily for us they also make some of the best sandwiches in the East bank, and are right next to not only a great pasta shop but also a great Butchery, and great produce store. It was at the store that I learned how to make beef wellington with the help of one of the workers there, and I am in their debt. This place has been here forever, and I hope it stays here forever

Pricey! But, great quality specialty items.

Too many good things to buy here. I am never disappointed. I come for the cheese and charcuterie, but always end up grabbing some ravioli and sweet onion cream sauce and other delights that you might find while waiting to pay.

What a treat to shop in this store! Very unique spices and sauces. I shopped the deli section and couldn't resist buying some Jamon Serrano. Paired with ACME sourdough bread, some wonderful cheese from Market Hall's cheese selection, it made for a very nice mid-afternoon snack. I wish my town in North Carolina could establish this type of market vs. the corporate models that are on every corner.

Used to live near here. Greatest market. The cheese shop is the best. Smart people who really know their cheeses. Amazing selection! They will let you taste and help you decide.

Market Hall has some of the best product I've ever seen. Amazing cold and frozen food, pasta, sauces, roasted chicken, sandwiches.

I love MH for a quick bite or easy dinner when I don't feel like cooking!

I ordered candied fruits and such from them online several years ago. I got the whole range, from candied angelica and citron-- very hard to find, especially uncolored, in the case of the former-- to the standard lemon and orange peel. Excellent products and totally worth the price! They even through in a freebie. Looking forward to purchasing other gourmet items from them in the future.

This place is foodie heaven!! The most amazing selection cheeses, deli foods, deli meats, breads, pastas, veggies, sauces, spreads, and teas. Separate shops with wines, fresh fish, veggies, and butchered meats. Covid precautions are excellent, staff for the most part are extraordinary. Only downside is how much money you're gonna spend. Oh- and a free parking lot in Rockridge? Yes please!!

This market has it all. Pricey, but worth it!

This is my favorite store in VA. The service it is just great, they have and Ecuador coffee, the best sandwiches in VA, wine and cheeses ... everything is really tasty. Everyone should stop and support a local store with great products.

I love this market and I love the people who work here. Julianna is INCREDIBLE. Even during a holiday rush, this was an extremely pleasant experience.
