The Food Mill

Been going and shopping there since 1974, it's a little out of my way now, but I still find the time to shop there. To me the Food Mill will always be the standard which I measure all Health Foods stores against. They should have made them into a chain of stores throughout the Western States.

I love this place. Lots of bulk organic grains and other foods. Inexpensive. Very friendly staff.

I love going to the Food Mill. They are very Covid safe and only let a small amount of people in at once. They have gloves for you to wear, and sanitizer, too.. It reminds me of my favorite co-op in Ukiah. There are lots of grains, nuts, and seeds in bulk. They also have organic vegetables and fruits that are in season. Can you believe they also bake their own cookies and sell them at a reasonable price. They also have a section with books on health - - like an old fashion health food store.

At the Food Mill, Covid has made it so they are short on a lot of ingredients. I went there specifically to get herbs to make homemade root beer. Two of the ingredients I needed, weren't available. I talked with the owner and he said that Covid has hit a lot of their distributors very hard, and so they are out of certain items.

Great local store. Better selection on things like bulk foods than a lot of places. Their sesame cookies frozen are the best!

I have been going here for my "crunchy granola" stuff for years. The produce is good but I love the selection of herbs they and in large amounts to save on trips.

This place has such a variety of goods and for great prices. It’s very clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful. They’re also open 7 days a week so definitely would recommend!

I've been to the, Foodmill, only one time. And I've been dying to get back there again. I 💘The selections that they have of seasonings. And, their selections are OUTSTANDING. Can't wait to go back.

Always been a great place to go and get herbs, spices, vitamins, and even popcorn. Staff is friendly and willing to assist. Always have been helped fully each time I go to the Food Mill. A store like this, is a real gem in the community.

I loved my Black Seed oil the Food Mill is like a box store warehouse with a more comfortable way to shop. The next day I bathed my feet in the topical Black Seed Oil and sipped my one teaspoon of the internal Black seed oil. The Food mill has met my needs better than Amazon. You see, getting in my car and driving to the Food mill is the experience. Looking at the Food mill, walking through the store, and talking will fill you emotionally. That is how I experience the Food mill in Oakland, Ca.

For the past 25 years this has been my spot. I love it as its right in the neighborhood. Knowledgeable staff, as well as friendly, like family away from home. Great selection. Some items can be a little pricey but, what isn't!!. Definitely worth a check out. Stay healthy!!

I have been going to many natural food stores in the area for work, and this one is my favorite by far!! The staff are so friendly and helpful, they treat people so nicely. You can tell they really care about the community. Awesome selection of products and competitive prices. Love the Food Mill <3

During this pandemic/shelter-in-place, I really appreciate the simple steps Food Mill has taken to ensure everyone's safety. Only allowing 5 customers in at a time, providing up-to-date and clear signage, providing gloves, and overall being friendly and helpful is just what we need during these times. This is partly why I love this store so much!

Embarrassed to say that I've only been shopping there for twenty something years.
The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful.
My wife always feels right at home with everything that they offer...
And I can always find some hippie soap that will piss off my "son of the owner" boss.

I hadn't been in for a few years and took a friend who was looking for bee pollen today. It is just as lovely as I remember. Family owned. Great service, knowledge and selection of local food. Shop local!

Probably one of the best health food store I've ever been in. Everyone was super friendly to me in a very natural way, their bulk section was super affordable! I went in for just some pancake mix and left with 50 bucks worth of stuff and quality rice for my workouts!

I'm so glad to have the Food Mill nearby. I love the bulk section. You can bring your own containers -- even for peanut butter and honey and olive oil!

Excellent source of very fresh dried herbs. You'll have to double plastic bag them. Also lots of supplements, cheeses, snacks, and the best ginger cookies.
