Really good donuts! I don’t personally even like donuts—though my wife and kids certainly do—but we all thought these were great and among the best we’ve had. The creative/unique varieties like lemon curd or marshmallow fluff and peanut butter were really good, but even the typical varieties like Boston creme were extremely well-executed.

(No place to sit inside, but there was a table outside where we could stand and eat.)

These donuts are delicious!! A local in line suggested a few I wouldn’t have otherwise tried including the o.m.j., the lemon, and the Apple fritter… and these ended up being our favorites!! Everything we tried was delicious, the cronuts, the cream filled maple, and the minis. We will definitely go back when we are in the area! The iced coffee was reasonably priced and hit the spot too.

Always a treat to snag a dozen of their little delights on my way or out of Oakland. plus, even their black coffee is delicious. nicely roasted and flavorful. Try everything :).

Great shop! Friendly staff. Clean atmosphere. Really tasty donuts and cronuts. Enjoyed classic and unique flavors. Clever names were an added bonus. Loved the cronuts more than the raised and apple fritter options

This is one of our local favorites! Interesting donuts and excellent coffee. For the Boston Creme lover, they use the correct pastry creme in their donuts! I could review almost every one of their donuts, but to summarize, they are crafted with high quality ingredients and love. The employees seem to genuinely enjoy being there. The space is small and they ask that only 3 groups be in the building at a time. But on wet days they've generally put up a pop up.

LOVED. Described as cronuts, it is a bit more croissant and flaky than donut (60/40). Each donut was not extremely saturated in oil. My personal fave was the coconut, which was one of the rounder donuts. These had such a fine, crispy outer shell while maintaining a soft, decadent interior. While they sold out of the bigger donuts, loved being able to try all the smaller flavors without filing up. Great coffee too!

Not your ordinary Donut place , I would say more like a gourmet donut place. I only tried
Two things the cinnamon sugar cronette
and the maple cronette both were excellent.
In case you don't know a cronette is sort of like a donut croissant hybrid.
Will have to come back to try the other varieties. Definitely give this place a try .

Donut Savant is a gem, an urban miracle. These donuts are some of the best I’ve ever had, in any city in North America. They could be served in a five-star hotel, but they belong here in Oakland, because the people and service are real, and the love comes through.

And all I’d been looking for was a decent cup of coffee.

Sometimes miracles happen.

The best maple bar donut I have ever tasted and I really don't like maple bars. The lemon was delicious. The coffee was delicious, just plain black regular brew! Worth the drive for us!

This place has become my go to spot for donuts. I knew what a cronut (croissant/donut) was before, but I had never had one until I tried these. Every flavor is delicious. It's a great option when you want a donut, but want to go beyond your standard chocolate or glazed donut. I have to recommend the vanilla and the salted caramel, but you can't go wrong with any of them!

Parking was easy, street parking right outside. Guy that helped us was super friendly. Most importantly though-- THE DONUTS! They were delicious, still warm and so soft. We tried many different types and they were all amazing. Also, I love that many of the options come in a mini size so you feel much less guilty trying multiple different donuts. Highly recommend checking this place out!!

Some of the best donuts I've had. Honestly they should raise their prices...the donuts are sooooo good. Super nice people too!

By and far the best donuts I've had. All flavors too. Donut Savant was featured on Food Network and ranked by East Bay Express as a Best in the Bay. Willing to bet it's a world beater too. How can a donut get better than this? The texture is a cross between a donut and croissant. PERFECT balance of sweet, buttery, and salty without being overly surgery and having too many toppings. Prices are SUPER cheap too... .75 - $2.75 per donut in 2023. Go. It's life changing.

These are one of the best donuts I've had in the bay. They've many petit size donuts too which are amazing as quick bites. We went a little crazy and bought all kinds in one go but they're worth it. Need to have them fresh though. The place is not much crowded in the mornings

Love, love, love this place. Excellent customer service and service. I love coming here every now and then to grab their amazing donuts. If you have never had the best donuts in life, come here, you won't regret it. This is probably the best service you can receive and you can tell the staff love their job..

Street parking and equitable prices! So happy to find a place that actually sells at prices our communities can afford! Several options and all delicious! 2 customers allowed at a time which does create a line outdoors but the line was fast and you can order coffee and get it outside. We went on a Saturday, and items are takeout. Would recommend and go again!

Variety of donuts in different sizes, and amazing staff. They gave my dog the best time of his life 😀 I particularly love their bite sized donuts and cronuts. I also like the vanilla pastry creat filled donuts there. The cappuccino was just ok.

Love this place. Some of the best donuts ever. The bat area doesn't have many great donut shops, but this is one! They have incredible flavors 😋. My fav is the creme brulee or the lemon 🍋. Though any is gonna be Great. My only complaint is that i shouldn't eat donuts everyday! This shio is truly a gem. If you need high quality donut action, stop in now! 😆

Oakland needs more shops like Donut Savant! Food wise… it’s DELICIOUS. It’s definitely more cronut then doughnut… which is refreshing as the local donut shops are more than good enough for regular donuts. These desserts hit on a creamy note like none other and definitely have that melt in your mouth feeling. I tried them all and wasn’t disappointed - although the chocolate iced one was my least favorite. Vanilla takes the #1 spot.

Neighborhood wise, it’s small businesses like this that help gentrify the neighborhood (in a great way) that makes Oaklanders proud and builds on the best thing it has going for it - the food scene.

We will miss Donut Savant days. Best donuts in the Bay Area love from Colorado!

Recommend to go on a Wednesday, they have the best craft coffee in the Bay.
