Calafia Taqueria

Such an amazing place. My family and I used to eat here at least once a week when we lived in Alameda from 2011 to 2015. I recently returned for work and even after eight years, Victor immediately recognized me and remembered my family too. Great people, and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, very relaxed.

My fiancee and I both got the Al Pastor burrito, I got the regular and she got the super. Upon opening it was obvious the tortilla was quality by the smell. The pork was marinated well and very tasty. The super burrito even had a chunk of pineapple in it. My burrito fell apart but I ate it by tearing the tortilla up and using a fork, this Chicano loves rice and beans. My daughter's first restaurant food experience - she went wild for the rice.

Wanted some good street tacos and boom found a very nice spot. Very friendly staff, outside seating which is very nice, clean facilities, fast service. I will be returning here. Check them out if you're in the area!!

I just moved to Alameda and was surprise that Califas Taqueria lives to the name one of the best Taqueria I had a super burrito with extra meat. My drink was a large tamarindo I have to say it was good.
The place is very Mexican decor. The cashier very fast. Service was great and the smells of the food being cooked can smell it outside most mission taqueria's smells don't make it outside. The picture of the burrito in the bag is big and weighs what a burrito should be like.

Yummy street style tacos with very good quality meat and friendly service. They lack the salsa bar but the salsa is really tasty as well. Plenty of tables and chairs inside, outside and back-side patio!! Happy to support this family owned business.

Excellent Mexican cuisine best place to sit around and talk with your friends our family

One of my go-to's in Alameda. Victor and his staff are great. Really cool casual place with lots of space. I like their burritos and enchiladas. Their grilled veggies burrito is a hidden gem if you wanna skip meat.

My new go to spot, it's up there with my favorite taco truck (sinaloa). This is my second visit and tried steak and lengua soft tacos... Deliciosos!!! Beer, aguas frescas and tamales... Great variety and friendly service!

Update: still my favorite spot. Except that just now my family and I left because of the rude gentleman at the cashier. One of the people in my party was not quite ready to order, and I was just about to let the person behind us go right ahead. The way the cashier handled the situation could have been so much better. I'll still return, but will avoid this guy.

Great food enthusiastic staff made to order hot and fresh. Fresh salsa bar. Freaking Tastee Too!!!!

It was raining on this most recent visit, so we ate inside, but they have a great back patio area, or there's the parklet in front.

This spot is my goto for mexican food where I am sure to bring all my friends when they come into town. It has yet to let me down with their delicious fish tacos, asada street tacos and many others. They have the streetfront patio as well as a large side and back dining area and are also next door to the outdoor lot where many events happen monthly.

Excellent authentic Mexican food in a cozy, colorful eatery. Nice salsa bar too. Loved the big veggie burrito.

I saw the owner of this place at a wholesaler. I saw he had packed his platform cart with a whole bunch of halal meats and I got super excited thinking this man has a halal restaurant. I proceeded to notice he had refried beans and other foods that are served at Mexican restaurants. I took a closer look at the refried beans to see if they had lard and they had none. I approached the owner and verified if he indeed had a halal Mexican restaurant and he confirmed. He gave me the restaurant info and even recommended a halal Mexican place closer to my home. I felt that was very nice of him. Normally you don't send potential customers to other restaurants but he was very nice. I checked the reviews that evening and they all looked great. We finally made it out tonight.

The place was nice with a lot of seating. The food tasted amazing and service was excellent. We ordered soft tacos: beef, chicken and fish all three were super amazing. The seasoned the meat just right. Beef Tamales were bomb. I was super excited to try the enchiladas however was disappointed because I did not like the red sauce. In the restaurant's defense, I have always had white washed/Taco Bell Mexican food so I was expecting taco bell style red sauce. This sauce was authentic and I am sure it is wonderful but just not what I was expecting.

Before leaving we were asked about our experience and I gave feedback. I was impressed that they cared enough to ask and they made suggestions as well. We left very happy and I was expecting our bill to be way higher and to my surprise it was not and was very reasonable. Will be coming back for sure.

Calafia Taqueria is a vibrant and flavorful Mexican restaurant with fresh ingredients and excellent service.

Good service and nice food.
I tried their fish and shrimp tacos and they were good. The salsas were delicious, I think they have the best salsas I've tried in the island (spicy and not watery).
The enchiladas were good as well.
I'll have to come again and try more stuff from their menu

Definitely one of, if not the best pork burritos I have ever had. The pork was juicy and so full of flavor. There is a small place inside to eat as well as an outside area. Service is great and food is so good. 5 stars for the taste.

Great customer service and their owners are absolutely great people, really appreciate the cooks for all that they do as well. I recommend this place to any and everybody
