Canasta kitchen is one of my favorites in contra costa county and alameda wow 14 years they said been running business and one of 9 best taco places in the Bay Area WOW, I recommend the happy hour, the taco Tuesdays and I believe the have great brunch !!! Please give a try

This place had lots of great food and the staff were awesome. It was an amazing experience with lots of great food. The vegetarian options were many and the hot sauce was super hot! The tacos were amazing and they let you customize your own.

The kids loved the horchata because it was served in a traditional clay pot.

OMG Stop it. Been in the bay 6 or 7 years and haven't had Mexican food this good. I've gotten close but no cigar. The bean dip for the plantains was sending me over the edge. I was in heaven. It was very Cuban-esque. Transported to Miami. The guac was delicious and on day 2 with left overs the chips are still crunchy as hell and guac is solid good. On TOP of all the deliciousness, the service was super great. They were very friendly and came to check on us twice. Food came out super quick. Good prices and the horchata oh man..... sprinkled with freaking delight. I'm dead. I could go back just for the horchata alone. Ordered a taco salad and the shell was impressive and the flavor was perfect and really brought back good memories though there wasn't a lot of meat inside. I ordered carne asada. Small little bits there.

Parking was free after 6 I think. Plenty of parking on side streets and some bars that are walking distance if you wanna go for a drink and music after. Such a good location.

The margaritas were to die for and that burrito must've been at least a foot long. The meat was delicious but I had to cut it in half because it was too much food for one sitting.

We absolutely loved our experience here! Its a shame we can't visit more often, we only went to Alameda for a vacation weekend. This is our new go-to spot next time! Food was delicious, service was excellent, all around perfect. Thank you!

This was the first time I visited this place and I loved it.
Their mole is authentic, really good I would say from Puebla.
The michelada was good, a bit too much chile on it though.
The baja style tacos were ok, I was expecting fried shrimp and coleslaw instead of arugula.
The quesabirria is huge, a full meal and it comes with the consome, the habanero salsa was good with it.
The waiters were really nice and friendly.
I would totally come back and try more food

Authentic street tacos with fresh toppings and great meat. Horchata is aromatic and not overpowered. Atmosphere is decent and chips are served right away.

Juicy and delicious, price conscious and Maggie is great.
Expect just great food, Huevos Rancheros are really different.
The environment is “despretensioso” and people are friendly.
Good selection of drinks.
Be aware :) of the spice level of that tiny little orange thing.

Came with my coworkers. We ordered a plate called El Governador which consist steak and shrimp in a large tortillas. They give lots of meat we all agreed it was tasty. Our server Maggie was the best. Really gave 💯 service. We will be back again and try something else.

Ordered Tacos Mamalon for $15.50. Received 2 tacos loaded with shrimp, steak, chorizo, cheese, guacamole, onions and cilantro. Included rice, beans, sauces, and chips. Very rich and tasty. 2 handfuls of good food.

Delicious Mexican food, full bar, friendly service. Enjoyed the empanadas and Huaraches. Price was a little high, but quality matched.

Really enjoyed this spot! Had great service & wonderful food. Def comin back a few times. The owner really looked out.

Finally got to check this place out and so glad I did. Food was awesome, a bit pricey for Webster St. But I know they are trying to revamp the area. Just don't expect a taqueria. Our drinks were delicious, the Bar tender and I came up with a cocktail that he said he was going to put on the menu and call it Strawberry Dream(Sueño Fresa), I suggested he call it Aimée's strawberry dream( Aimée's Sueño Fresa) since I helped and was the test subject. Our server Alex was the best server I have had in a long time; courteous, prompt, knowledgeable. We gave him an extra tip. We ordered the Chiliquiles and shared it, my God it was the best I have had since Olvera St. in Los Angeles. Absolutely check this out, I can't wait to go back. Again, be prepared though with three drinks, one plate it cost us 47.00 not your typical place on Webster, but a fresh spot that makes me want to continue to go to Webster. Between the already awesome 1400 Club, Cafe Jolie and now Canasta, Webster is cleaning up nicely.

Excellent Mexican fare, great service and a cozy dining environment all make for a top notch restaurant in my book.

From your standard burritos and enchiladas to some excellent ceviche and house nachos with a tangy chipotle sauce to die for, this place has a great menu to enjoy.

The service is excellent as well! Friendly, prompt, we've always been happy with the staff here.

The birria tacos (soup tacos) and vegan pastor street tacos carried this experience for me. I would give their vegan pastor food 6 stars if I had the choice. The guac and chips is pushed by the servers but it's kinda mid. Don't bother with the coffee. It's diner quality. The servers here are honest. The place looks like it used to be a bar that was sloppily converted. Nonetheless great food. Would eat here again.

Delicious food! Dine in or outside. Outside dining was nicely covered. Staff was incredibly nice!! Had so much fun catching up with my besties!!
