The staff and host were so kind and attentive! I went for my 30th birthday, and they gave me a complimentary glass of champagne. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Temperature and taste were right on the money. I loved the atmosphere that was curated. It's small, but it doesn't feel crowded. I definitely recommend

Reservations on a week night- service was really on point from hostess at front to every part of in house team.
Hamachi Crudo was SO delicious as was the trout rillette.
Steak frites w perfect crispy fries excellent also. The off menu dessert special was sesame 3 ways. Perfection.
Non alcoholic grapefruit / rosemary drink delicious- local wine & beer picks were good! Definitely will return

Great local upscale restaurant. I've visited for their brunch and dinner. The menu wasn't overly complicated which made it easy to pick a few items and share. Servings are very generous. They have some very fun and tasty cocktails which make it hard to choose just one. The wait staff were friendly and made great recommendations. Glad to have this type of eatery so close. Definitely a place I'd recommend and eat at more than once. A new go to for all kinds of celebrations of just great food and atmosphere.

Just splendid service , elegantly unique and memorable cocktails, with a thoughtful and delicious menu. I scored the artichoke dip , salmon thing, and a burger, all were above and beyond. As for drinks I tried the basil gin martini that literally glowed and has delicate flavor to match. Next I had the orange cream soda which was also delicious. If your around alameda it’s worth a stop for sure.

Found the place last minute and decided to come check it out. We ended up being seated in the private room area as the main area an bar were completely full and really appreciated that.

The food was delicious and big kudos to the chef as the skin on the chicken and also the salmon were absolutely beautifully crispy. Service was also very attentive and knowledgeable.

Overall was really happy to find Saltbreaker. Hope to visit soon and perhaps even use the private space for team or group events.

We went to Saltbreaker for what turned out to be their first brunch ever. While there were some very slight hiccups (to be expected when trying something new), they comped an item as an apology that more than made up for it. Regardless, even if they had not done that great bit of service I would be rating them a 5/5. The space is extremely well done with thoughtful furniture and design touches such as heath ceramic tiles at the bar and plants on top of the lights. The food itself was wonderful through and through. The salad was visually appealing and tasty, the smoked trout was packed with the right amount of flavor, our burger was exactly what we wanted and came with a mountain of fresh cut fries, and the avocado toast was not only delicious but a generous portion. We often go to the alameda antiques faire and will be back at Saltbreaker many times I suspect!

Delicious! Craft cocktails and an interesting menu - with something for everyone. Small place, so plan ahead and make reservations or plan to squeeze in at the bar. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Amazing experience in Alameda. Great meal (steak and pasta) as well as a comfortable and trendy atmosphere. The apps, cocktails, desserts, and service are the reasons we will be back. Highly recommend.

Truly delectable cocktails and scrumptious menu items. Highly recommend the carpaccio, the wings, and the parm fries (with the tarragon aioli).

Wonderful service, love the vibe and the space. I want to try all the cocktails, but they require reservations I think, even at the bar.

Visited Saltbreaker for our first time today to celebrate our anniversary. We started off with deviled eggs topped with bacon and crispy shallots and a subtle onion jam inside. The Steak Frites and Seared Duck Breast were both delicious. For dessert we split a chocolate bar and a basque cheesecake. It’s hard to pick which dessert we liked best, because they were both incredible. Would definitely visit again!

We had such a great experience at Saltwater...deviled eggs, smoked trout rillette, beef tartare, salmon crudo, steak fries, and citron tarte. Everything was truly delicious!! My favorite was the smoked trout rillette. The place is smaller than I expected, but I'm excited to return when they have outdoor seating for the summer. We also enjoyed our server who is also a local and was super attentive. The interior had a nice vibe, however note, it can be difficult to hear conversations due to lack of fabrics for absorption. However, part of that lends to the fun energy of this place. There is a lot of construction in this area, so the restaurant can be somewhat hidden, and since many roads are closed, just follow the detour signs. There is so much potential for other restaurants to join them, and I hope this area continues to develop!
