Gerstle Park

Lovely neighborhood park and start and end point for a nice 2.5 mile loop hike.

This is my neighborhood and I am grateful to be fortunate enough to live here. Its everything a good sanctuary should be: safe and lively with a collective of kind people.

Beautiful property, fun tot and big kid play area. Something for everyone here.

Rustic, hilly, well-tree'd neighborhood park with big level playground area. Several picnic areas, tennis courts, basketball hoops, big hilly lawns. Tiny antique fire museum. Popular place for neighbors and out of town folks. Kudos to the long ago family who once owned this lovely estate.

My grandkids were spending a Saturday with me. I Googled children's playgrounds near me and Gerstle popped up .
This park is family friendly and a gate that closes so kids won't run out. They had a great time and met a wonderful dog along the way.

Big park has grass trees eating tables water fountains wildernes to walk a big rock that feels amazing to stand on during crop season there's lots of blackberries around the trails birds squarls deers skunks very relaxing

Great local park! They have a wonderful variety of interesting trees, lots of lawns. My dog loves it. Also, basketball courts, tennis courts, play structures for the kids, picnic tables, bbq pits and more!

Wonderful little park with playgrounds, a basketball court bbq’s, etc. in a quiet corner of San Rafael. Used to belong to the Gerstle family who had a mansion, orchard and exotic trees on the beautiful grounds… some remnants still remain. Many oaks, bay trees, some redwoods and deer in the open space above the park. Lovely unmarked trails lead up to an old abandoned quarry and beyond.

Still one of my favorite parks in the area. A little bit of wilderness behind it and all of the good elements as far as playground and barbecue and good company.

Super cute little park. 2 play areas; one for smaller kiddos like 5 yrs and under and another for older kids. Plus a tire swing!! A little grass patch to play a little soccer (which there was a family doing just that!), a basketball court with 2 hoops. And 2 separate pinic table areas you can reserve or just hang out at!
My sister and fiancé had their rehearsal dinner in one of the areas approx. 40ish ppl with a tacos "truck" in one of basketball areas. There was 2 other groups about 6-7ppl and there was still plenty of space!

Quiet and peaceful. We went to our favorite eatery in san rafael, sol food, got some take out food and looked for a place to chow down. This place fit the bill, nice and quiet far enough from the freeway but not too far. Still have that secluded feeling.

Shaded park with two play structures and swings . There is a bathroom and picnic tables.

I guess because of the ongoing droughts, the drooping economy, & this plague it looks a bit unkempt but it's still so peaceful. It used to be very, very, well maintained. The gardiner's were there daily. Everything was nicely clipped and edged.

Nice quiet park with lots of places to chill, place for kids to play, as well as a basketball court. I didn't explore the whole park so there's more to offer than what I've mentioned.

If you're looking for a nice open space for your kids, this is a good spot.
It has a small but really well built place for kids to play.
