We will go back here! Really nice place. Great vibe. Excellent service. Nice, quite bar. We found parking very close and easily. We didn't eat dinner, so I can't rate the food. But I will bet it matches the level of the rest of this place. Really good spot. Go here!!!!

Kids sorta goes with my whole angle about San Rafael. There’s these gems. Maybe it’s just my having not spent all that much time down here since kids, moving north, etc. But this place is definitely one I’m coming back to. Stopped in cause I missed my train (new commute). Ok that experience alone I’d give it 5: friendly, just talkative enough (think: reads room), easy. But listening to other patrons was what got my antenna up. Those already seated + those just coming in. The staff treat this little (footprint) restaurant like it’s better than Il David. And it might be: I only had 2 (excellent) glasses of wine. The food menu looked great. The staff greeted people, sat them, tended to them, explained specials in a way that I know *i* would have appreciated. I left before it could get busy. But it just felt like an experienced FOH staff.

Very nice and cozy restaurant. Great wine and the food was delicious. Got the famers market veggie risotto, the pizza and a yummy chocolate mousse

This is a rare gem in San Rafael. Amazing atmosphere, food, cocktails and service. I was so impressed and one might say I’m not easily impressed. Loved it!

Amazing cocktails, wine menu, top notch food. I love sitting at the bar by the open kitchen but it’s also a lovely, intimate setting for a date or a quiet conversation with your best friend.

The food was absolutely amazing. The mushroom risotto was among one of the best dishes I have ever had. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for romantic evenings, the ambience is beautiful. We sat inside by the window. Would love to go again.

Delicious food prepared with great care, fresh ingredients and creativity. Comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, helpful staff. A lot of deliciously prepared polenta in their dishes. Not an extensive menu but great options that include sea food and a special of the day. All very nice.

My husband and I decided to try out Vin Antico’s Thanksgiving menu this year. It was the best decision, we avoided the crowds at the supermarket, hours of cooking and virtually no clean up. Having never been to this restaurant before it was a bit of a gamble but we were reassured by all the great reviews. The experience turned out to be better than expected! The staff was so friendly and helpful, we picked the meal up the day before all in ready to heat packaging with clear instructions. It was truly he most delicious thanksgiving dinner and certainly pleasant escape from the stress of this year. We are definitely going to do this again next year and I highly encourage you all to do the same!

My family and I dined here last Friday night and we were really impressed. We ordered the Arctic char , scallops, and pan fried chicken. All of our entrees were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was top notch and the co-owner came by to see how we were doing. We will be back for sure.

Been here for both lunch and dinner. Both meals were amazing. Staff is well informed of the menu. Great cocktails by Hayden. Kelly the manager is very nice and remembered who we were by name almost 2 weeks earlier. Do yourself a favor and go enjoy a meal at Vin Antico.

The service here is outstanding. Coming from out of town, I dined alone at the chef’s bar table and they treated me like an old friend . The food is delicious and perfectly prepared. The Brussel sprouts are divine. I had the chicken and you won’t find any better than this. The staff made excellent wine pairing suggestions (thanks, Kelly) and they are ultra accommodating.

GREAT FOOD. Wonderful staff, excellent service! Can’t say enough good things! I eat there once or twice a week, the specials are always good, the Caesar (ask for prawns) is one the best, and the meatballs are a staple favorite. Topping it all off with homemade vanilla gelato, and I’ve just had more than I should! Best fine dining in Marin... go there!

Great experience and incredible food last night. Two of us shared the meatballs, Brussels, and pork chop. Wow!

Since moving to San Rafael, I struggle to find really awesome food, ambiance, and service. I had been to Vin Antico years ago and remembered it being pretty good. After my recent visit I found out it is under new ownership and they have a new chef. (This may not be new info to you, but it is new since my last visit.) First off the manager is so lovely- she is warm, welcoming, accommodating and very passionate about making Vin Antico your choice for dining. The food has been delicious both times now that I have been there, they actually have great wine by the glass- which sadly is difficult to find around here, and the atmosphere is chic- old brick, metal, and soft lighting. I'm thrilled to learn they have plans to open the upstairs as a bar and lounge where they will have live music. I will keep you posted on their opening!

The food is very good and reasonably priced for the San Francisco area. The polenta is fantastic, as is the chacuterie appetizer. Either could make a meal by themselves. I didn't have the fish, but the salmon at the next table suffered a terrible fate, obviously overcooked. The chicken was also a hit at my table. I would certainly go back.

We’re so happy to see they’re up and running with new owners.

The Trout Carpaccio with Avocado Creme special was particularly good

and we had the moistest, most wonderful pork loin with the candy

cap mushroom bread pudding. The wine list is really great as well.

We've been there twice already and the food was consistently good along with

great service.

I've needed to post this review for ages. My husband and I moved from San Francisco to San Rafael about a year ago. There are wine bars galore with overpriced glasses and mediocre food in the city. We're used to it. So we haven't been put off by the mediocrity of the wine bars here in Marin.

What a pleasant surprise when we happened upon the Happy Hour sign outside of Vin Antico and decided to go in. We were immediately welcomed by our charming hostess. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the reasonably priced wine. The offerings for appetizers and small bites at the bar are delicious and have many a night tempted us into staying for dinner. Happy hour at Vin Antico has been a weekly (ok, sometimes twice and three times a week) thing for months now. We love it here!

The food is farm to table fresh and the chefs are frequently trying new dishes. I appreciate the staff's knowledge about how the menu items are prepared. The kitchen is open...if you're into watching your food be cooked, ask for a seat at the counter next to the chefs. I personally prefer sitting at a table and letting them work their magic and bring it to me.

I've seen a few reviews that say the restaurant is a bit pricey. Ummm...yeah...we're in Marin. I find the prices at the same level if not a bit lower than other restaurants of the same caliber. Ya get what ya pay for peeps.

See ya at Happy Hour :)

Wonderful dinner and friendly staff. We had our three year old and staff was so accommodating, brought her a special toy that she loved. Food was delicious and we had a great time!
