We travel all the way from the East Bay to hangout here. Love the idea of a coffee shop and play space. Adults get some time to talk while kids enjoy some play time. Decor is simple yet classy. Place gets crowded on weekends so you either have to get there right when they open of after the morning rush. Pastries and beverages are surprisingly good. Many beverage options and yogurt. I just wish they offered more food options like avocado toasts, breakfast sandwiches or simple breakfast items. Staff are wonderful and great at enforcing the play space rules. The play space is kept very clean. Love all the options of play (dress up corner, reading nook, climbing tree, colorful tunnel). Recommend making the trek over.

Totally radical place to take your toddler or under 12 kiddos!! a contained play zone with hidden tunnels and ladders and costumes! My kid who is 4.5 spent about 3 hours there and slept so well that night. So we went back three days in a row. Today is day four! Perfect for time when you don’t have a sitter, it’s vacation and you’re stuck in town or just need something new! The cafe is separate and you can watch your kid or sit and have a latte or pellegrino. If you’re not a wheat and sugar person, bring snacks! They only have pastries and oatmeal. 10/10 and would be 20/10 if there were some non grain and sugar food options like hard boiled eggs?
Also could be good to have one dedicated staff member with bright vest in the chaos so that parents don’t have to play referee! We love you Fox & Kit!! 🤙🏽💕

We came to Fox and Kitty During a heavy storm. They have a large indoor play area that is fully carpeted and perfect for young children to play in for hours. All visitors are required to take off their shoes at the play area. We also had some coffee and pastries which were delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location also offers Wi-Fi, so it's a great place to work while watching your kids play. It tends to get very crowded during rainy seasons, so it's best to plan ahead.

Stopped in for the first time to get a cappuccino and was thrilled. Amazing coffee selection, and the decor / design was so comfy and fun. There was an older trio hanging at a sidewalk table, some folks doing laptop work inside, and then in the playroom were some cutie kids and caregivers. If my kids were still wee ones, I’d likely make weekly visits! Either way will surely return.

First time coming for a kids birthday party event. So many great things to say about the place including cleanliness, aesthetic, service, and quality drinks. Great place for kids to play. I’m a big coffee nerd and they made a delicious cortado that was balanced, right size/taste/temp, with beautiful latte art. The baristas were all so nice and skilled, clean and organized to their craft, and presented all their drinks beautifully. Will definitely come back during normal cafe hours when I’m back in the area!

The owner and staff are so nice and welcoming.
The kid's playground got some fun costumes and overall is something very different from the playgrounds that I am used to, looks, sounds, and feels like you are in nature.

I love this place! My kids have so much at the indoor playground. What a genius of an idea! It’s a great rainy day activity for the kids! Although there is a time limits during rainy day and I get it!

Really nice coffee. Pastry quite good, though very buttery (good or bad, depending on your taste). Recommended if you are in the area.

They have a cool play area for kids that is a separate fee. Fee seems a touch high to me, but the area is super cool, so maybe reasonable.

New coffee shop and play area for little kids in downtown San Rafael. The inside is very cozy with nice decorations. Good for sitting, having a cup of coffee and reading a book or magazine. The play area looks fun. Too bad my kids are outgrown a place like this, otherwise we'll be regular customers!

There’s nothing else like it in the Bay. We drive here from Oakland monthly to experience it.

The only way you get this kind of interior design and overall experience beauty is if the owners designed it themselves and continue to be present to care for it, and that’s what is happening here. A piece of art.

I wish there were more places like this! Fun for the whole family as parents can enjoy a beautiful cafe with great food, drinks and books, and the kids enjoy the super fun indoor playground. Will definitely be coming back! Staff was also super friendly!

This is the model for which all coffee shops should strive to replicate. If you have small children and adore both coffee and watching your children bask in the glory of innocence and play, then this is the place for you. The play area is filled with nooks and crannies - places to read, places to hide, places for your kids to challenge their balance and confidence. Dress up - princesses, pirates, dinosaurs, oh my!
For parents, snuggle up on the cushions with a cup of coffee or tea and watch OR jump in (give into that childish pull, i promise no one will judge you for it) and explore in tow.
The cafe has enough selection to keep you coming back and the decor will inspire your next home remodel or DIY craft project.

I will say, this place is perfect outside the busy times. When there are 4-6 children in the play area the vibe is perfect. Add a a bunch more and expect chaos, bumps, bruises and screaming - it's inevitable that children will collide and fall. ;)

We had a really awesome time at Fox and Kit. The place inside was immaculate and trendy while the kid area was super kid friendly. My 2.5 year old had an absolute blast and played happily for nearly 2 hours. The coffee was really tasty and as a mom used to drinking cold coffee, I really appreciated the tumbler which kept it warm the entire 2 hours I was there. My only very minor complaint is that the food selection was small--as a vegetarian my only option was pastries as the savory breakfasts all had meat. Next time I'll just eat breakfast before I go as we will definitely be back!

Great place to take your young kids to run and play while you enjoy a special cup of coffee, they do have a $12 charge for the use of the kids play room, best to bring a friend with their young ones and plan on hanging out for a good hour, not a 10 minute drop in.

This place rules! Great coffee, energizing ambiance, and an indoor playground with sparks of imagination. What more could you want as a coffee-loving parent?!

High quality coffee and espresso. Very fun play area for kids. One does have to wonder how often the soft rocks are cleaned though.

Do you have to take care of your children but do you want to go out and distract yourself for a while? Fox & kids is the place that has it all.

A fabulous "park" for children and a beautiful and very well musicalized work room. My favorite things about this place are these

1: even though there are many children you never hear them cry or scream, so you can work or read without interruption.
2: they have a variety of pure tea and an infusion of rooibos that is delirious, their matcha and chai tea are my favorites.

On the other hand, their almond croissant is from another world.

(The only thing you could wish for is to find the tables clean, they are always full of crumbs, and some workers forget to tell at you that your Order is ready.)

This place is a gem. Very esthetically pleasing to the eye, very kid friendly, delicious coffee and pastries. I wish we had a place like this in San Mateo. My son and family had such a great time. We got there within the last hour so playtime admission was half off. I'll be back.

Brilliant concept! Wonderful artisan coffees and teas with a few sweets. You can pay a fee from $10-15 for your child to play in the 'sensory sensitive' play area while you're enjoying an Americano or latest seasonal beverage. Very Montessori like. Stellar design with modern mugs, cups and serving trays. Could hang here all day!

Beautiful shop, relaxing atmosphere. The coffee, green tea and chocolate croissant were delicious. Staff is super friendly.
