Great scenic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the headlands. Saw the air show from here in October. The Presidio Yacht Club offered beer and ice cream. There is a really fun science center for little kids nearby and the beach at Fort Cronkite is and easy 15 min away by car

Beautiful scenic views of Golden Gate Bridge as well as the bay and SF downtown. I really like this place as there’s lots of parking and usually it’s not as busy compared to the other viewpoints

Very cool place to explore with some of the best views of SF anywhere. We loved walking around the headlands and the battery, grabbing a drink at the nearby marina bar, and just smelling the brisk salt air. The edges of the headlands adjacent to the battery are also one of the last remaining homes to a rare butterfly, which was very cool. We even saw some seals checking us out from the water.

Wonder view to Golden Gate Bridge ! Old battle base also, but all the cannon had been removed. There is a small museum at the walk way. Free parking :)

Love exploring this area with our boys. It's by the Bay Area Discovery Museum. It can get very windy at times. Make sure to dress in layers. It's hard to predict how the weather will be when you're exploring the San Francisco Bay Area.

Battery Yates is a cool place to visit at Fort Baker just north of the Golden Gate Bridge and offers some decent battery structures and amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, S.F. Bay, Alcatraz, and San Francisco.

We just walked around where the bunkers are, it's a beautiful view of the GGBridge. There are also marine animals passing by. A beautiful sight to see them in their natural world.

This historic post is located in Fort Baker. Batery Yates was constructed in 1903 and was in service from 1905 untill 1946. And, it was named in 1904 in honor of Capt. George Yates from 7th Cavalry. On June 25, 1876 he was killed in the battle of the Little BigHorn, Montana. In Montana, it was one of the Indian's last armed efforts to preserve their way of life. Capt. Yates died fighting several thousand Lakota and Cheyenne warriors.
Battery Yates is very attractive location for sightseeing and hiking. Also, a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge can be observed. Highly recomend everyone to visit this location.

Great view of the bay, mainly during the Fleet Week Air Show, with the blue angles.

Right here at this location I throw my crab basket in and pull in woppers. One at a time, at the Pier 5 at a time but smaller .
On a good day 10-15 in an HR . After 7pm
Monday through Friday, weekends are just too busy .

Very cool spot below the bridge with so many amazing photo opportunities and lots of history. I would definitely go fishing here

In an attempt to get a photo of the Flower Blood Moon on 5/15/22, I picked Battery Yates to set up my tripod. Unfortunately, clouds blocked the lunar eclipse, but I had a fun time. Views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge at this location are unmatched.
Plenty of parking, just follow the signs up to the battery. Stairs will take you to the top. But, I chose to tuck behind an outcropping of rocks to protect me from the wind. It can get very windy here take a jacket and gloves and you will be comfortable.
