Mud Bay

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Mud Bay before, considering I've loved my experiences from the very first time and all one hundred since.

New to being a pet owner they were very helpful with information and pamphlets on numerous topics. They were more than generous with dog food samples to help me find the right one and even offered full refund on opened bags of food if my pet wasn't happy.

With my needs dialed in I have the food I want special ordered in larger bags to save money. It takes about 5 days and they text me. I always ask for free treats at every visit and snag some snack or toys occasionally. I have never been disappointed with a purchase. 5 stars!

I’m dog, cat, and house sitting nearby. I don’t live in the Tacoma area, so I’m unfamiliar with the University Place neighborhood. The beautiful and fun to care for Rottweiler that I’m sitting has been a very good girl, so I wanted to jazz up her kibble meals with some wet food. Regardless of the location, Mud Bay is ALWAYS trustworthy, so I searched for the nearest store and UP popped up. Only problem, they close at 7:30pm and it’s already 7:15. Waze GPS showed that I’d arrive two minutes before closing. So I loaded the said good girl in my car and disembarked post haste. I refuse to be the last one in the store, holding staff up from their closing duties, so I called ahead. Alex answered my call, and she was friendly, empathetic, and incredibly helpful overall. I pulled up about 90 seconds to close. Walking in, I was greeted by the three people in the store, presumably all friendly employees. Alex had two cans of wild salmon dog food ready to go in a bag, along with a treat of course. The entire staff was awesome, and made the purchase that I rushed easy. Great store, wonderful people, remarkable company. Thank you!

This is the only place to go to get your pet's needs, no kidding.
These people are serious about the products they sell, they Know their products and all products are thoroughly researched. Mud Bay does all the work for you!
If you researched the total garbage that makes up mainstream pet food and where it's sourced you would first be appalled and horrified and secondly would throw up in revulsion.
This company sells clean food, treats, supplements and toys.
You must experience this store, it is not your typical pet store.
Personally, my cat Ramsey has protein allergies so he eats Instincts rabbit based food. They also carry a brand called Fromm which is a wonderful brand to try. Also, for bloat, icky poo-poos and/or diarrhea try Optagest powder supplement for a happy gut and butt. This product works so incredibly well.
Ramsey likes his non-toxic boiled wool babies, his absolute favs!!! Also he loves his From the Field Shelby mouse and their twirly Freddy's feather wand. No toxic made in China plastic or small parts in these locally sourced toys!!
Ramsey gives Mud Bay 5 Stars. Stop over and check this place out, your furry baby(babies) will thank you!

The staff is friendly and helpful with helping me pick out new dry and wet foods for my dog. They let me have full sized samples of the canned wet food which our dog loved.

The people at Mud Bay know their products and are always more than willing to guide you in making informed decisions about your pet's needs. Not to mention that they have excellent products to choose from.

THIS IS MY DOGS DISNEYLAND! Employees are always friendly ,they treat customers and their pets right. They have everything you need for your pet. The employees welcome your pets with treats and ask if you need help finding anything. My Shitzu literally thinks we go there to visit more relatives, lol. We pull into the parking lot, and she just loses it with excitement .

Wonderful place! Our dog has so many allergies and the employees knew exactly what to look for. We usually spend a good 30 minutes in new dog stores looking at ingredients our dog can have. While we were still listing off the allergies the employee picked up a bag, handed it to us and it had exactly what we were looking for.

They are also super friendly and gave us several bags of sample foods and treats to try. Definitely my favorite dog store in Tacoma area.

Visited for my cats first birthday. Two employees came to check if I needed help. Two of the toys are shown here, the bird toy which he LOVES and the sandwich/catnip toy behind him in the second pic. 3rd pic of Cosmos w/ his new Caterpillar and 4th pic of Buttercup w/ her new Octopus. I go to Mudbay for all pet needs, they let you return (I think) anything and the employees are so nice and helpful! Can't go wrong shopping here. Oh and if you get a big bag of food they always carry it out to your car for you🥰 Thanks Mudbay!

The people in here are always 100000% phenomenal. Super sweet, helpful ppl who will help you find the best for the cheapest if you need, which I NEEDED. Incredible and worth the visit, Great products, and:

I have always loved shopping at Mud Bay, as does my dog, Rocky Junior. I am the owner of Rocky Junior's Dog Training Service, and visited Mud Bay today with a client and her puppy, who recently started behaving fearfully. We did some counter conditioning work in the store, and the employees were very helpful. Great place!

The doggo and I love this place. Safe and healthy products for your dog or cat. I've loved Mud Bay since I became a dog dad and this is my favorite location. The people are amazing.
