Bison Paddock

I came to this park before a few years back and never got to see Bison. In fact, I didn't know they existed here, lol. It was a cool experience even though the bison were on lazy mode.

Good to see these quiet giants here. Normally you can see them in a zoo. I just wish I brought my zoomed lens to have a closer photo.

It was cute! We biked around the park and stopped here to watch some bison walking around.

Super cool place in the Golden gate park. Went there with a San Francisco native who didn't even know it existed. The enclosure has a herd of bison, which are pretty unfazed by the public attention and stand pretty close to the fence. It's also possible to bring your lunch for a picnic, and eat along with the bison!

It was great to see Native American bisons. There were lots of them right in the middle of park. If you are lucky enough they might get closer and have a closer look at them.

Closely watching Bison without going to Yellowstone National Park. There are some benches there so you can sit on and watch the animals for the whole day if you want.

So cool to see bisons along the walking path near the dog park!

Nice little surprise in the middle of a big city! The bison are a neat little addition. Lots of beautiful picnic space with shade. Weekends are very very busy though when it comes to parking closer to the Science and Arts museums.

The bisons were "on display", resting or slow pacing. Very peaceful, I wish I could get closer to them.

Before my most recent visit in 2021, I hadn’t been to the Bison paddock since I was a young child. There are so many bison that can be easily seen. These giant and magnificent creatures roam around, eating grass to their heart’s content. There are benches available to sit and view the bison. If you are an animal lover, I definitely recommend!

Easy access to see Bison! They were away from the fence but managed to see them well enough. Great little spot to check native American animals

So fun to see Bison in the park! I was surprised to learn only females in the heard now.

If you've never seen Bison in person this is a great opportunity and in general a great place to walk.

A hidden gem that should be appreciated by locals and visitors.

I love watching the Bison. They are so large and yet still seem so gentle.

A beautiful little spot in the park. A conservation spot for Bison that helped spark the “rebirth” of the bison population.

Be mindful that sometimes the bison are fed or cared for in a fence a bit further back from public eye. But when you see them in the open it’s so fun!
