Mitsuwa Marketplace - San Diego

Good Japanese grocery store! I am so happy that it’s located in this area! I like Mitsuwa in general so it gives me comfort when I see it around!
They are some restaurants in the store so you get to have hot japanese foods right there! :)

Japanese market place. They offer varieties of products, including fresh sashimi, sushi, meal set, Japanese cooking ingredients, beauty product and many more.

this was a very cute Japanese market! The prices there were definitely reasonable given that all the foods were imported. If you are looking for some authentic Japanese ingredients, this place is definitely the way to go.

I was able to snag some good ice cream, as well as some amazing coffee and milk tea! The staff was very nice and helpful and getting me what I needed plus there is a great food court inside the grocery store.

Can’t wait to visit again soon!

So much sold in a rather small building. Lunch boxes (bento), quality cuts of meat, lots of Sake options, a little collectors shop, 2 restaurants, a crepe shop and prize arcade machines. All the grocery stuff and I found my favorite soda which I have been looking for. Successful trip if you ask me. Highly recommend you check this market out.

Prices are reasonable compared to similar stores. The food items were plentiful to choose from. This is the best Japanese store in town. It's an all-inclusive store.

TLDR: visit the place and have a look around there is gonna be some there for you. Very nice market to go to, has a lot of snacks and food you can’t find typically at a normal chain grocery store. it’s filled with a few other businesses which have a variety of items. They also have premade meals which are pretty tasty cheaper then a restaurant and filling.

I usually come here after a workout to fill up on meats and carbs with a nice sugary drink. Good recover spot.

We love their food court and keep ordering their spicy miso ramen prk Chasu. We get fresh produce and sushi at their grocery store. Overall best Japanese supermarket and food stall.

I love this place. A little slice of Japan ( very small slice ) has gigantic bentos ready to go. Be sure to get your bentos early because they sell out fast. The restaurant options are pretty good as well.

Love this place. It's more than a grocery store. The store itself is primarily Japanese cuisine. It also has a small shop inside with toys and ceramics like sake bottles.

Prices are pretty reasonable for the somewhat uncommon (by American standards) products.

The real gem is the Ramen shops to the left when you walk in.

This place is where I always buy my breakfast and lunch. It is healthy and tasty. You would not go wrong with any of these food. This where I buy groceries sometimes. Everything is in this place. You can eat here, buy groceries, and beauty products. They even have a gift store here. They have anime store. They have a dessert place here. Or you can simply just buy an on the go lunch. Fried or grilled fish with tempura vegetables. They have varieties of side dishes. They have rolls. They have ice cream. They bave ramen. They have alcohol, juice, vitamin jellies. Everything is in one place. This is one of the place you will never regret going, but the parking is bad. Thus, you have to be patient waiting or parking on the side of street if needed.

I love the Tonkotsu ramen inside from the Santouka restaurant. I get it to go and it's packaged perfectly to eat. Bring cash to give a tip. For Mitsuwa the grocery part, I recommend the candy, snacks, drinks, and bakery goods sections. Anyone adventurous should go and wander around those sections and buy something that looks good to them. Or see what people around you are picking out. I keep finding new delicious foods, drinks, and treats. For the cost conscious, there are infinite types of excellent home ramen that is cheap and better than anything you could get in a typical grocery store. The whole store is also great for gifts. I send the ramen and snacks as gifts to people in other parts of the country and they love it too.

Very pleasant and clean. A great little market with a good selection of A great little market will a good selection of a great little market win a good selection of Japanese Goods. Also has three very good hot food restaurants. Fresh sushi and bento boxes made daily. I often stop there on my way home to pick up dinner for myself and the family.

After I lived in Japan for a few years and fell in love with the cuisine, I was happy to find Mitsuwa. It’s the closest to an authentic Japanese grocery store that I’ve seen and the restaurants up front look like they were lifted right out of Japan.

Great place in San Diego, CA to buy Japanese food and drinks and to eat at. Been coming to this store for years. Just wish this store would take EBT CARDS like they need too

Like being in Japan, even the rude old babas. Great selection of everything from groceries, ready to eat goodies, alcohol, appliances and toys. Few restaurants inside but I suggest the Poke place in the same strip mall. Prices are up there but what do you expect? I hear the weekends are best because they have more ready to eat foods.

Way more than a market there were tons of Japanese specialties. There was a place to get ramen or a place to get sushi all sorts of things and it just went on and on. I hope to go back again the next time I'm in the San Diego area

Ever feel like you just need to fly to Japan? LOL okay it’s not exactly the same but Mitsuwa does have a lot of the food comforts! There are so many snacks, actual hot food, pickled plums, and more to choose from! From mochi and fresh onigiri to gluten free Kikkoman Panko, possibilities are endless. You’ll come in thinking you’ll be buying one item or two and end up with a basket full! And you know what? Who cares, because you’re in Japan! LOL anyway, I’m so glad this Japanese grocery store has been around since the late 90s! What a San Diego treasure!

This market has everything! It made me feel like I was back in Japan. I found it because it's the only place in San Diego that carries Rydeen IPA, but I ended up buying much more than that! And though I live all the way down in Chula Vista, it was well worth the drive, and I will be back!

First time at a Japanese market! This place had so much Asian skincare and Asian snacks at affordable prices! I wish this was everywhere.
