Chandler's Oceanfront Dining

Excellent breakfast. We split the crab cake eggs Benedict and I had some of my daughters French toast. Both perfect. Nathan our waiter was also the best!

Fabulous wine list! Really good food and service. Dog friendly patio, too. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. My favorites were their cappucino, Angus burger & black truffle tator tots, Crab-Cake Eggs Benedict, Filet Mignon with brocolini & potatoes, seafood scampi with linguine, and their wine list. They have some fabulous domestic and French wines to choose from. We took food to go back to the room as well.

Amazing! Scallops were cooked to perfection. We even tried shark and it was delicious.
Jose was super upbeat and made sure my allergy needs were met.

The food was really good! Our Server, Kellie, was so sweet! Great atmosphere!

There was live music on Sunday, and the performer had a good list of songs she sang. It started at 4:30pm. We had appetizers which were good and drinks. There was happy hour pricing. The view from the patio was nice despite the cloudy weather.

We had a wonderful meal with family at Chandlers! All of us had exceptional meals and the food was outstanding from the appetizers to the main! We came at night so we didn’t get to enjoy the Oceanview dining but I bet during the day it’s spectacular.

My favourite item was the crab cakes! They were so delicious!My steak was cooked to perfection! The flatbread was tasty and perfect for sharing! The drinks were yummy, it was all very good! If you’re coming for date night, work, or a special occasion you won’t be disappointed, the food really was incredible.

Wanted to give a shout-out to our server Bryce who took excellent care of us. Added to our dining experience with laughter and kindness.

Highly recommend Chandlers if you’re in the area. They’re breakfast and lunch menu looks equally very tasty so I don’t think you can go wrong!

I stayed at the conjoined hotel for a week by myself and went down to this restaurant pretty frequently for breakfast and dinner. Always treated so kindly and enjoyed my time here. My morning waitress (woman with glasses) and Tyler the bartender in the evening were so awesome and welcoming! Made it an enjoyable week for sure.

Went tonight for dinner and to watch a friend sing. The service was good, they didn’t rush us and the food was delicious. I had the Seafood Scampi Linguini which was 😋 my friend had the Thai Zoodles and she said it was delicious. Everything was all carte so if you wanted bread it was extra. One Lemon Drop drink, a soda, and the 2 dishes with the tip came to $95 so expect to spend 💵💵
I’m not sure if they have dessert because they didn’t offer any.

I had my husband's memorial dinner on October 19th. Everything from start to finish was excellent. We were a party of 32; Chandlers made up tables, and some booths for us. Guests kept talking about how good the soup, salad, salmon, steak, and sides were. Our waiter Austin, and waitress Emily kept asking everyone how it was, and if anything else is needed. Greg the Food and Beverage Manager made several rounds to the tables to see if everything was okay. I appreciate the extraordinary food, service, and atmosphere.

This place never disappoints. They have the most amazing drink called "the Butterfly Flutterby." Our first time here, we were celebrating my birthday in February 2021. The restaurant had recently reopened since COVID and were trying to get back into gear. We didnt have a reservation. We were just looking to have a couple cocktails and an appetizer at the bar. I think we may have even made plans to have dinner at a different restaurant.
It was a lively atmosphere. The bar area was full and really loud. A lot of 20-and 30-somethings enjoying being OUT.
We were led to a table on the OTHER side of the restaurant. It was quiet; almost TOO quiet. We were outside (because we werent allowed to eat inside). I looked around and felt like I was at that resort/club from "Dirty Dancing"-- with all the 60- and 70-somethings. We had already met our server and the busser. He was so very nice and respectful. I felt awful asking for a different table. He offered to follow behind us with our waters.
Unfortunately, there were no open tables for Happy Hour. We were perfectly fine waiting a few minutes. My husband disappeared for a few minutes, then reappeared with the manager and asked that we follow him to our table. ----- wait. What?
We got the very last table on the patio; front row for the sunset. I felt like a VIP!
The only heater left was one that had stopped working and was set off to the side. The manager was determined to get it going, which I was grateful for. He must've spent close to 20 min fumbling with the thing before a flame finally appeared.
I'll make the rest quick---> We ordered the Ahi Nachos for an appetizer and ultimately ended up staying through HH and right into dinner. Unsure of what to order for dinner, I opted to share the burger with my husband....on the condition that there is NO arugula! Ick! Gag!
I'm 2 drinks in by the time the burger arrives. Forgetting about the arugula, I take big ol' man-sized-bite out of it. I managed to swallow it but not before I came to the realization as to WHY the chef went with arugula instead of lettuce or spinach. All I can say, all I will say is,.....that was the best buger I have ever had!-- better than Cassidy's in Newport. I hate to admit it, but it was the arugula that made it.
If you find yourself at Chandler's, DO NOT miss the opportunity to try the burger. SOFA KING güd!

Reserved a table outside and the view was spectacular. The sunset is gorgeous.... Food is excellent with large portions. Will recommend thia place to friends. Amy, our server, is sweet and helpful.

We had such an amazing experience for our first time comming to this restaurant, I took my fiance and best friend for a treat. The food was absolutly to die for! The service was by far the best I have had in a very long time. They had real conversations with us and made us feel like friends of the restaurant. The atmosphere was truly amazing, by far one of the most comfortable sit down meals I have had in a long time! We will be comming back as much as we can!

Chandler's is 5 Stars ++. We stayed here for 5 nights and the dinner meals were so exceptional that we wanted to try everything on the menu. The service was outstanding and the Manager, Greg, is just amazing. We loved it so much, we had no desire to experience other restaurants during our 5 nights. Thank you Chandler's!

First time there and I loved it. The inside bar and restaurant is very nice. The outdoor seating has a somewhat view of the ocean. This a great place for drinks or brunch. My cocktail was delicious as well as the poke. I love that parking is easy. I highly recommend !

I wish that I could give 10 stars for service!!!! This was a big night for me and my hubby, 5 years of marriage, and we got to bring our Marine home this weekend. We have been somewhat disappointed with food in the area since we got here last Sunday…but today..TODAY WAS THE DAY!!! The food-AMAZING!!! But the service here is what I want to touch base on. We arrived 40 minutes early for our reservation (evening plans ended before we expected) which can sometimes hinder restaurant setup, but this time it did not. The hostesses were very prompt and professional, despite being early they were adamant on getting us sat. We went to the bar while waited for our table to be ready. Tyler gave us great service, made my drink to perfection! Now let’s talk about the main attraction from our night-when we sat down there was a hand written card ( I know they are generic but being that I’m in the F&B industry this was a big deal) which meant you read the reservation notes. Thank you SO MUCH Alayna ( I think that was her name) for personalizing the card for ur marine son, we were very impressed with your artistic skills :) Now to the star of the show….JILLIAN!!! She is quite possibly the best server you have! Have I been waited on by all of the staff, no. But I have high standards. Very high standards. Jillian KILLED it!!! From her personality, to her menu knowledge/entree description I was BEYOND impressed. I’m not a Karen, but I’m picky and I know that. Jillian never once made me feel like she was inconvenienced by my questions or preferences. She made amazing suggestions, and we ended up settling on something that made me super happy! Food was FANTASTIC! Hubby has been looking for some fresh/good quality sea food, and we finally found it here tonight!!! We were so very impressed with food and service and want to let it be known!! Thank you to all of the Chandlers staff for making a great night, an amazing experience! From the bottom of our hearts, we needed tonight more than you all know! Thank you from the Carrs-Moore, Ok

Worth trying if you're staying at Cape Rey Resort

If you are in area with family, be it for Legoland or Flower fields or San Diego in general - this is a great restaurant with great ocean views. We were there during our kid's spring break and decided to book this for dinner. Important fact: Use their own site for booking which opens up with OpenTable for sunset time (Google assistant will not show sunset timeslots). Food was good and so were drinks. There was live music as well which was cherry on top. Sunset views, good food and live music - what else one can ask for a family vacation! Highly recommended. :)

Beautiful experience at Chandler’s. The food and views are magnificent. We had the coconut shrimp, Impossible Burger, Salad and Grilled Fish Tacos.

Had several meals here during our stay at Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach Hotel. Dinner was excellent! Great food & service!

Amazing views and the food was so good. The staff gave us a dessert to celebrate our anniversary.
