PPQ Dungeness Island - Millbrae

Went on Valentine's Day. They had a very affordable pre fixed meal. It came with crab, garlic noodles, salad, rolls, dessert and wine. The crab was so good and juicy. We got the roasted crab but I also wanna try the fried chili crab. Noodles were just ok. A little dry but we added on some steamed rice and sopped up the leftover crab juice. idk if crab juice is what it's called but you know what I mean. The cabbage salad and spring rolls were good appetizers. We also ordered the salt yolk shrimp. Those shrimp were huge and flavorful. They were better eaten hot of course. Lots of food that we ended up taking some home for lunch the next day. Great service as well. Everyone there was so nice and attentive. We will definitely go back.

Got a crab craving? PPQ is the place to go for Asian Style Crabs! My family has high standards when it comes to Asian foods, and PPQ satisfies their palate. We’ve been going to the PPQ on Clement and thought to give the Millbrae one a try. The interior is nice, the street parking is definitely easier (but not super easy), and the service was really good. Must try foods at PPQ that stand out:
• Roasted Crab—buttery and garlicky fresh deliciousness. Love the sauce.
• Peppercorn Crab – deep fried, breaded and fragrant. Yum!
• Garlic Noodles – must eat with the crab. Best in the bay.
• Peppercorn Wings –deep fried and battered with an explosion of flavor
• Five Spice Chicken – this was surprisingly really good. Crispy and flavorful without overpowering five spice.
Other dishes we tried (all were good):
• Imperial rolls
• Papaya Salad with Shrimp
• Sizzing charbroiled Beef
• Steamed Sea Bass
• Braised String Beans
• Stir fried Pea Sprouts
• Fried Calamari
Food is pricier, but you leave with your crab-craving satisfied and stomach stuffed!

Good seafood. Great garlic noodles. Nice pepper corn chicken wings. Nice ambience. Too bad no wifi for guests. Every dish was above 7/10 rating. Many 8/10 to 9/10. Garlicky chicken wings is a 10/10 - highly recommended. Carpark is limited so plan to arrive earlier before peak hours.

One of our fav seafood restaurant to go to. I'm happy there is one in Millbrae now. We use to go to the one in SF. The food here is really delicious. They give free dessert and sing if there is bday celebration. I forgot to take a pic of the string beans those are really good too.

Had dinner here with family. Parking was challenging but we found a spot down the street. We arrived around 7:30 and since we’re a party of 3, we didn’t have to wait to be seated. Service was friendly and courteous. Food was excellent. We ordered the dunganess crab with house special sauce, grilled tiger prawns, braised string beans, garlic noodles, and the fish maw soup. Will come back to try their other sauces for the crab and maybe do lobster as well.

Updated review 2/18/2022: Always good times at PPQ. We ran into one of our friends while dining here. It is very nice seeing old friends and enjoying a meal together. We had the peppercorn crab meal for two and added beers and calamari. The food and service was much better this time around. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Updated review 9/25/2021:
Slow kitchen tonight. It took about an hour from ordering for our food to arrive. Luckily the waitress noticed our food has not arrived after about an hour and check in the kitchen. Once the food did arrived, we noticed the salted egg yolk had no egg yolk taste to it. They probably forgot to put the salted egg topping because they were rushing to get our order out. Usually the food here is pretty good. We were so hungry after waiting an hour, we didn't send it back. The other stuff was fine. Imperial rolls with salad, garlic noodles, roasted crab, string beans and peppercorn crab.

Original review: Dinner for two 8/6/2021. We left satisfied. Good job PPQ. About $200 for dinner with drinks.

Service on a Sat night (medium crowd) could be better but once the food arrives it’s yumminess is enough

We were the last one on the reservation list and they waited for us to finish our food no pressure. Good food.

Came here to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday. We ordered the family dinner that included 2 crabs two ways. Great value, friendly service and quick to handle all of our needs. Will definitely come back again soon.

It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Make sure to make a reservation or come before they open! I had Deep-Fried Soft Shell Crabs Cabbage Salad with Chicken Roasted Crab Charbroiled Pork, Steamed Sea Bass Braised String Bean House Garlic Noodles and their beignets.

We were in town for the weekend and wanted to try the best Dungeness crab in the bay. This place seems to open later than most. So they got our take. Photos do not look as good as iy tasted. Looks can ve deceiving from the photo it looked like full of butter but it's actually a broth. It was not as butter as it looked. We order the crab dinner for 2 person meal came with (1 Dungeness crab, garlic noodle and eggroll) plus we ordered an extra dish of gai lanh green on the side. Total came out to be $162.

We had a wonderful family gathering and enjoyed the crab for four meal.

Great place for dinner with a group. Love the little bibs. Food is always good. This time I tried the salted egg tofu which was awesome but very rich. Also loved that the warriors game was on.

Curry crab is good. And my favorite is butter and garlic crab. Garlic noodles are good too.
A place where u should go w a few more friends in order to try more flavors

So delicious!! All the dishes were so tasty especially the crab fried rice and salted egg crab! Go and enjoy! Wonderful outdoor seating with heaters and flowers

Food is great! Expensive though. Got the 4 person crab meal for $170.

If you like crab this is the place to be. I prefer the roasted to the deep fried. Garlic noodles and the salad are yummy!

Delicious food, great portion sizes and Gluten free items clearly marked on the menu. About 95% of their items are gluten free or can be modified to be.

Service was great and we all ate our fill!

In A Nutshell:

-After a few years, I've finally tried out their "new" location, which by the time of this writing isn't very new anymore, but it's newer than their original location in The City.
-Anyways, the food here doesn't disappoint at all.
-If you come as a couple, I suggest their prix fixe for 2 menu which is $108 you get a nice Dungeness Crab dripping in butter garlic sauce, their famous Garlic Noodles, a Vietnamese Cole Slaw salad & two Fried Spring Rolls.
-It's the perfect amount of food.
-I guarantee that you will be sucking every crevice of that crab.

Overall, pair the meal w/ an iced cold beer & you'll be remembering this place.

Delicous food and a good deal when getting the family meal. Right now they have outdoor seating and didn't have to wait long for a table. All the staff were friendly and efficient.
