By FAR the best experience I've had with a general practitioner. Dr. Kanen and her nurses, they are super friendly and professional. Their concierge style practice truly makes you feel cared for as a patient. My wife and I have always been seen on time. We've never had to wait past our appointment time.
Dr. Kanen is VERY thorough, extremely compassionate, and always well thought out in her approach to our care. I feel like we have a real partner in our healthcare. Our appointments feel very open ended. We've never felt rushed. This isn't a your-20-minutes-are-up medical practice. Highly recommend.

Main purpose of this review is to acknowledge and praise the staff at Lemi. I am a new patient of Dr. Kanen and so far very pleased with my visit. I was slightly hesitant due to the reviews, however, my primary visit was very pleasant. The front desk staff Shafia, was extremely helpful and accommodating, I have expressed that I can only come in during a certain day and time and she patiently assisted me to schedule my next appointment. I truly appreciate my overall experience here.

After five years of primary care and other services I continue to appteciate the quality of care I have received. Both Dr. Kanen and Ann Strain are caring and thorough practitioners. The office staff is helpful and the new office is clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this office.

Dr. Kanen and Dr. Strain are both thorough in check-ups, clear in communication, thorough diagnosticians. I've had no problems with either, and I appreciate the other professionals running their office.

I received great care at this office. My experience with Doctor Ann was informative. She took the time to listen to me. If I lived in Sam Francisco she would be my new doctor.

Dr. Kanen and Ann Strain are both very caring and knowledgeable doctors. There office is very clean. They answer all your questions . I appreciate the office staff . They are incredible. Thank you Lemi Medical Center.

Nothing but good experiences here

Nice people but a bunch of amateurs... They are considered in-network for me but when they sent off my blood work I assumed they would be in network but the Drs office never checked to see if Quest Diagnostics was and sent it off anyways. Now I have to foot this damn bill! Don't go to these people!

Very bad experiences here. The staff and doctors are very friendly, but what they did was very unprofessional.
1. First of all, they asked to change my appointment time just two days before my appointment. Then, it happened again on my second appointment! Then, on my third appointment, the doctor even didn't show up in her office, just had a FaceTime with me!
2. Their office is always crowded with many patients, I'll have to wait at least 40min past my appointment time everytime!
3. The first time I saw the doctor, she spent half of my appointment advertising the SPA next door.
4. They tried to make more money by not sending me or uploading my test results on the patient portal, and only show me the results if I make another appointment!
5. They never answered my phone, it took me a while to figure out that they only do texting!
I've never seen any other medical centers that had such disgusting manners. Will never go there again!

Shady, strange, and unprofessional. The office is in an old "World Financial Group" office and they haven't even redecorated it. Low effort with passive aggressive signage in the waiting room directed at patients. You can rarely get a hold of the front desk when you call. If you leave a voicemail, don't expect a response. I went in person after leaving two voicemails to speak about my elderly father who has a permanent disability and is currently hospitalized. I had to wait about 10 minutes for the lady at the front desk to finish her phone calls. She was being rude to whoever she was on the phone with. Then she was rude and dismissive to me. She said, "I'm the only one here," (even though there was a man sitting behind her at the desk?) "we are a skeleton crew and we are seeing 50 patients a day". I am thinking, if this practice has so much business, why can't it afford to hire more staff? Appointments with Dr. Kanen have always felt like a factory farm. She does not care about patients and just tries to get through the appointment as fast as possible. It's all about making money. I am changing my dad's primary care after my experience here.

This place is a joke! Janelle and Tamara are the biggest inconvenience in that office and causes you more headache than necessary. They're lazy and full of Excuses "I'll handle it" and "call backs" is what they're good for. I've asked many times they fix billing on a test the performed that was EXPIRED. I got a bill from Quest and they are trying to charge me for an expired kit LEMI sent in (none of the 2 nurses or dr checked expiry date). I called more than necessary to get those 2 to fix the mistake and Janelle said she did fix it back in Janruary but here we are in MARCH not fixed because i got a second bill. It's sad I have to go to my insurance and File a greivence against the office. Janelle pushes work off to Tamara and nothing gets done. I sent many emails with no response when I call the office they're RUDE AND GIVE ME ATTITUDE FOR THEIR NEGLECT and upset that they have to actually do their job and fix the mistake she never fixed in Janruary. I'd give negative 12 stars if I could. The professionalism doesn't exist here at Lemi Medical and if you want to be taken care of id find another medical office.

This is the worst clinic I have ever been. I requested an annual preventative exam from them and they billed me and my insurance regular Visite and refused to change the code even after my insurance contact them. That is another very bad Service I want to talk, it is very often that nobody pickup call or took forever to reach them. The doctor office did not contact the patient if there is Any changes made for the ordered exams, the sutter health billed me double of the estimation quote after my exam because they did something the doctor ordered later without informing me before the exam.

Dr. Kanen is absolutely horrible. My first clue was how dirty the office is. I don't think the rug has ever been cleaned, ever. The office staff, though very nice in person, never ever return phone calls. So they don't answer the phone, they ask that you leave a message and then never return the calls no matter how many times you call or how important the calls are. But Dr. Kanen is something else! I've yet to meet her, but her PA's injected a drug into my elderly friend that is suppose to be injected every 6 months. They did it after 2 months! I contacted Dr. Kanen via Sutter Health email and explained my concern for potential harm in giving her too much of this injection. She answered with she would check with her staff and I've not heard back from her and that was almost 2 months ago. I have sent her 2 emails since and Sutter Health has sent her a message to answer my question. Still no response.

My elderly friend also had an infected toe. The assisted living facility where she lives faxed Dr. Kanen regarding the issue. I called to make an appointment and got the answering machine and of course no call back. I ended up taking my friend to an Urgent Care center where she was diagnosed with a very serious infection.

Maybe this Dr. is good with addicts but as an internal medicine doctor I would stay clear from that office. Such a joke!

Never going back. Had one urgent visit which lulled me into making an annual checkup visit at the end of last year for which they sent both bills to the wrong address about three months after the fact (lucky that my family still lives there). I reached out to pay, but it was complete radio silence for the next three months by either phone or email. It's like they were trying to make me delinquent on my payments when I was more than willing. Schlepped my way back to finally pay in person, and they claimed they don't know why their billing representative hadn't responded plus something nebulous about switching over systems. Check the Yelp reviews, they aren't great either.

As a Nurse calling Dr.Kanen about one of her patients, I was completely flabbergasted at how little concern, and respect she showed toward her patient. She denied setting a telehealth visit and refused to allow me to state what information we needed on the patient. All she kept saying was the patient missed her appointment several times. The nursing staff and I are completely shocked that this lady is even still in practice. This is a very sad situation. If I could give zero stars I would.

Absolute racket. Dr. Kanen great the two times I visited, but their billing practices are insane. I paid my $20 dollar copay, they stated my insurance was accepted, and I never heard anything for over 120 days. After over 3 months, I received a bill for the full price of my physical (430+ dollars) with no further explanation. I called my insurance company, and they never received a claim from Lemi medical center. I immediately scanned all of the documentation and sent an e-mail to the address provided on the statement, and printed all the details and mailed in with the invoice. After this, I never heard anything back for another 120 days.

Now, 6+ months after my initial visit, and with no further correspondence, I received a call from Lemi Medical Center staff saying I was being sent to collections. I immediately called back, and the "billing manager" is unable to be reached. I've sent three e-mails, left 4 voicemails, and called a total of 8 times today, and no answer. They never submitted the claim to my insurance, and have never responded to any of my subsequent correspondence.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! DO NOT GO TO THIS MEDICAL OFFICE!

I will be filing a claim with the BBB and pursing compensation for damage to my credit (previous 750+ and never had a claim to my name). If it costs me 5x my medical bill to fight, I will gladly do it.

I have been taking my mother here for about 6 years. She was seen by Dr. Anne who is actually great, and who unfortunately was not available for my mother's recent office visit. Instead, she was seen by Dr. Kanen - what a horror story that Dr is. Dr. Kanen is rude, short, brusk, lacks compassion and empathy and her check up on my mother wasn't thorough at all, in fact she seemed in a rush, and needless to say made my 71yo mother feel very uncomfortable.

Her staff, that up to this point had been just OK, nothing to praise or criticize, was nothing but unprofessional this last time.

I had to reschedule and then cancel an appointment due to jury duty and third appointment was mis-scheduled by them. All of a sudden I receive a call by Shatia, I believe her name is, from the doctor's office telling me that I don't respect their time and that they may release my mother as a patient (after 6 years of never missing an appointment ?!). As if what she was saying wasn't bad enough, it was the way she was talking to me, what took it over the top, her tone and the fact that she even raised her voice at me over was completely uncalled for. How unprofessional is that?

I don't really know what is going on at that office, I heard doctors have left and Dr Kanen is now working triple (according to Shatia) but I suspect Dr. Kanen is stressed (and it shows), and she's putting pressure on her staff who then take it out on the patients.

One thing is for sure, I'm not putting my mother thru that again. Just terrible.

Sorry Dr. Anne... we'll miss you!
