Just left the vet, extremely satisfied with the whole team! Front desk girl was amazing at recognizing the emergency and the whole team involved- vet technician and veterinarian were so extremely patient and nice.
We really have had bad experiences from other vets in SF. So this was a pleasant surprise.

We have a 20 year old dog and we do everything in the world to take care of him so it's nice they understood us

My kitten had an accident and broke his femur/hip and needed FHO surgery. We had the added stress of it being Christmas Eve and called around to various vet hospitals in the area before finding OAVH.
I got in touch with Nikki who was so friendly, thorough, and transparent about pricing/process. They were able to fit us in on the 26th and all went smoothly with my kitten’s surgery. It’s now been 5 weeks since the surgery and he is good as new jumping and playing as if nothing ever happened.
Of course vet surgery is never cheap but their price was lower than the other hospitals I spoke to.

My kitten and I are so grateful for Nikki and the doctors at OAVH and would highly recommend them to care for your furry companions!

This vet was great! I was able to make an initial appointment very quickly. I like their online process for registering and submitting paperwork. The check in system is also great because you check in with a QR code and there is a TV that displays the line and you can tell them where you want to wait. It was pretty busy in the lobby, but the vet tech came out and got the process started before a room became available. Jenna was great, very friendly and kept me in the loop the whole time. Dr. Mukul Padalkar was the vet we worked with and she was great. She listened to all of my issues and concerns about my doggo, and actually addressed them. It was a decently long wait, but I would say it was worth it.

This place has been great for both emergency and annual check ups. My cats and dog do great, especially with the new lobby. It is very spacious and I feel like there is enough room for many animals to wait until they are called. My cat had a blockage in 2021, and they got it sorted. We are now working on overall health for the 3 animals. Parking is a doozy here, but aside from that, getting here from the Highway is easy and they are always kind.

I've brought my sisters dog here and recently brought mine here. No matter which vet is doing the check up, they are always calm and gentle. The technicians are also very helpful and explained all the procedures thoroughly.

I would never have thought that I would have commented on a vet hospital, but wow, what an amazing hospital. Dr. Kim went above and beyond with our Boston terrier Duncan. She was relentless to fi d out the root of his problem, and she found it. Since then she has personally called twice to check on him. We definitely found our vet and will be bringing both of our pups to Dr. Kim

I started bringing my dog here last year and I couldn’t be happier with the service. First of all, Dr. Kim is amazing. She’s so personable, empathetic, and I don’t know her very well but I can tell that she’s just a great human outside of work. Her and the staff always make it very clear in regards to what I will be paying for at the end of my dog’s visit. Dr. Kim is empathetic when it comes to how expensive vet care can be and really emphasizes what my dog needs at that point in time and what can wait until next time.
The front desk staff and vet techs are all so sweet and friendly when it comes to check in and check out. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes to see Dr. Kim (with an appointment of course). I’ve also never had an issue with getting an appointment in a timely manner.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences here and unless I move, I will never not take my baby to Ocean Avenue Vet.

I’ve had my dog for over 13 years and have tried many vets in San Francisco over the years, including SPCA and Park Animal Hospital. OAVH is by far the best one ever, and I’m so glad we found them a few years ago. Dr. Fady Baskharon is the team member we always see and I can’t recommend him more highly. He truly cares about the animals he treats, and he has fantastic “bedside manner” with us humans too. He treats me like an intelligent person, explaining what’s going on with my dog, how he knows, what it means, and the tradeoffs between different options we have for treatments. He listens well and respects my own expertise about my own dog, because each one is unique. In case this context is helpful, my dog has had all her routine visits here for about three years, including vaccines and bloodwork, plus dental work (only one tooth removed at age 13!), and she even had a TPLO knee surgery after suffering an injury that was exacerbated by arthritis. She healed beautifully from TPLO and can still jump on the couch and enjoy short walks. She’s slower, but still loves life and I’m so grateful to OAVH. Quality care is worth every penny. The vet assistants are also very kind and professional and the front desk staff is helpful and polite. My only tip is that parking in front can be tough. Call ahead bc sometimes they will let you double park in front if you’re just picking up medicine refills.

New years weekend. My bobo's eye was looking pretty bad they made a n urgent care appointment and say us right away.

Dr. Kim is awesome! She listens to our concerns, offers recommendations, and works with us to reach the best option. Vet techs all listen to our concerns and handle Reese with care. Office personnel are professional and helpful. I highly recommend Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital!

Welcoming and efficient appointment process, kind and helpful vet, answered all my questions. Parking is hard to find nearby so go a bit early to give yourself time to find a parking place.

I can't say enough nice things about this hospital and the staff here. I've been coming for 16 years and, I believe, 3 changes in ownership, and it's the best it's ever been. The staff are friendly and helpful, the place runs like a well- oiled machine, it's clean, and they really care for us in every sense of the word. The best part is the Drs'. clinical acumen is razor sharp and they are thorough as well. What more could you want? I've taken pets to other hospitals for convenience, and most times I wish I'd driven the extra hour from where I was, to get here and see these lovely people. I certainly believe the outcome in one case would've been successful had I done that. Watching them, I also am reminded how medicine is an art as well as a science. Thank you for your careful care. I couldn't be more grateful.

It was great. I liked the doctor went with me with all the details about my pet and the staff was very supportive and helpful i would recommend it for your pet care needs.

I took my dog here because she was peeing blood. They were caring and gentle with her. They calmed her down and get all the samples needed. They gave her something for pain and to help her other drugs to help her feel better. This place is great!

OAVH is like our family. We drive 30 mins out of SF to get here because we know that our dog will receive the best care and attention from the entire staff. We've been to a few vets previously but stopped going after finding OAV because they wouldn't listen or care about the concerns we had. In the end, we were spending more money because we had to visit multiple times before receiving the correct treatments. When our dog started limping, we called OAVH. After checking the x-rays they found that she had tore a ligament in her leg. We were absolutely terrified but the staff here made sure that we had all the information needed. The surgery was extremely successful and our big girl can run without pain again! About a month after her leg surgery, our dog ended up getting an infection on her gums which ended up needing surgery to repair. Dr. Fady and Dr. Singla showed us so much empathy because we were dealing with a lot at once. Dr. Fady consulted with other vets to ensure it wasn't too soon to have another surgery and put our pet under anesthesia again. He performed a beautiful "cheek lift" on our pup to fix the gum lining and remove the infection. I can't say enough about the doctors at OAV but I also want to call out the front desk team. WOW!!! Whatever I need, whenever I call, they are always ON IT. Medical records? In my email 2 mins later. Need to ask the doctor a question? Answered by the end of the day. Pet was sick in the office last week? Calls me to find out how the meds are going/how my pet is doing. THANK YOU OAVH!!! :)

Dr Singla is the BEST Vets I ever met in bay area, he is knowlegeable and professional. Without him, my pet will suffer from more sugery. And now my pet is happily jumping here and there. If your pet or your friends pet has healthy issue, don't hesitate, bring them to Dr Singla.
This hospital cost reasonable and not over charge compare with all other hospital. I'll recommend this hospital to all my friends.

Ocean Avenue has been my chosen Vet for the past 6 years with my beloved dachshund Winston. They made us feel special and loved from the very first time I brought him in, to the day I took him in to be put down. The veterinarians were always extremely empathetic and sweet towards both of us, and the front desk (Thank you Kelly!) and Vet Tech staff always knew our names and greeted us with warm smiles when we would come in. Putting my baby down after he was struggling due to Lymphoma was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through, however, Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital made the process beautiful, loving and heartfelt. I even received a card signed by everyone on the staff that I continue to hold dear next to all of my pictures of Winston today. If you are anywhere close to me in your obsession of your pet you will bring them in to Ocean Avenue. I am still healing from my loss but when it is time, and I have the space emotionally to get a new fur baby, I will not hesitate to bring him to Ocean Avenue for all of my veterinary needs.

Even though we can't go in, everything is in such a good order. We texted when we got there and within 5-10 mins, they took our puppy in for examination! Afterward, the doctor called to explain everything and the nurse came out with the invoice to let us know! Everyone is so nice and informative. They are awesome! My pup before going in! She was so scared but coming out she's all good! Thanks!!!!
