La Barista Coffee

The La Barista has something I’ve not tried until now, a Pistachios Latte, and I’m instantly obsessed! The homemade cinnamon scone was also delicious! A West Des Moines gem!

La Barista is a family owned, veteran owned cafe that is nothing short of amazing. My favorite employee there is Skye.

All jokes aside, this is my job currently and this place is the best. The work environment is so down to earth and anyone can be themself. The boss, Adrian, is the best boss I’ve had my entire life, and they treat everyone like family. Best coffee ever, too, of course(: And I’m not just saying that. And we have sip lids now!

I recently found this coffee shop in West Des Moines, and I’m loving it. Not too many small business coffee shops around, and this one is spectacular with delicious breakfast options (I can’t go there without getting their breakfast burrito) and the Mexican Mocha is to die for! It has a small town feel, where the owner knows customers by name, and a great place to sit and chat.

What a West Des Moines gem. La Barista is a family owned and ran coffee shop that so welcoming. Make sure to try their breakfast burrito. A savory Italian sausage, potatoes, peppers with a hint of cummin I assume. SO GOOD.

An unexpected, cozy coffee shop. I feel like I’m at a ski resort or Stars Hollow, but with way better prices. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for studying.

Coffee shop with mountain vibes. Super friendly staff, great coffee and good food. Iced coffee was one of the best I have had in town.

First time going there and I will definitely be back. Their breakfast sandwich was amazing.

Their whole bean coffee is delicious. Banana Nut Bread and Oatmeal Cookie are so comforting.

Skip the chain coffee joints and get a great cafe latte or other brew at this WONDERFUL gem. And, don’t miss the Graziano sausage burrito if you’re hungry. LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE FRIENDLY STAFF, you will too.

I am so glad I found this place. I love it here. It's got the best coffee shop vibes. And it's very clean (even the bathroom). The people working there are lovely. Can't say much about the breakfast since it all has pork and I can't eat it. Having non-pork alternatives would be appreciated if it's possible. From the pastries, I have only had the brownie and it's pretty good. My go-to drink is the Mexican Mocha and it's great.

Overall, the atmosphere is very calm and friendly. I love it.

Look online for their menu if you are like me and need to see the options.
I love that they do decaf iced drinks. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious and taste better than a fast food restaurant. I also love the assortment of breads and pastries you can get - I really enjoy the banana bread. Thankful this place is near my house!

I’ve traveled for many years all over the USA due to my work. This family owned(by the girls😂) Coffee Shop is beyond one of the BEST! I enjoy the being called by my name as if I’d been coming here the 27 years they’ve been in business. Ideal menu to compliment the Java recipes, Smoothies, & Pastries. Do yourself a favor & stop by this laid back hangout as they are open 7 days a week😀. Thanks All of you, Dad too☺, for the kick start to most of my days! Later👊🏻👍🏼

This is almost the perfect coffee shop. It wasn’t busy but there were other people like me camped with laptops, doing work. The drive through did seem to get a lot of traffic. The coffee was very good, the pastry was fine, the people were super nice and helpful. There were lots of outlets and good Wi-Fi. The only slight complaint for which I would never dock a star is that I found the music a little loud and aggressive.

Coffee heaven in West Des Moines! When you wake up and realize that there must be more to coffee than what you find at your local chain stops I highly recommend you swing by here. The coffee is fresh, service is great, and the pastries are delicious. One of the few places where I feel like I walk away and receive excellent product for what I pay.

Legendary local spot, owner and staff are amazing people and the friendliest bunch. Coffee is always delicious, shop is cozy+inviting, and the cinnamon rolls and coffee cake are special treats. First and longest running coffee spot I know of in WDM with a drive up window.

Love this local coffee shop! Great service, fair prices and delicious coffee. The drive through situation is a little funky but it’s worth the kerfuffle for a good cup of Joe. Remember to support your local businesses!

Absolutely love this place, coffee is so good and reasonably priced! The staff is always always so nice and friendly! I don’t live in Des Moines but i always come here when I’m in town!

Found this gem randomly while driving down Grand and was glad we stopped. Nice feeling on the inside and the coffee was priced fairly and much better than the chains like Starbucks and Dunkin. Whether drive thru or going in, we will be back and suggest others giving it a try as well.

The coffee is always good, food is fine, but it's a coffee shop so food isn't important to me. The baritas, and owner are super friendly. I also enjoy supporting local businesses, so it's a win there as well.
