Court Avenue Restaurant & Brewing Company

Good “older school” brewery restaurant in downtown Des Moines with quality new school beers. Over the past few years they have improved beer quality tremendously, they now do decent hazy IPA, dark beers, sours, plus their more traditional old school craft styles. The food is well executed, a mix of traditional steakhouse fare (steak, prime rib, salmon, etc.), plus a few unique pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and bar type apps (wings, pretzels).

We tried the wings and shrimp. Both were awesome. Service was super nice, and fast. The cocktails were good.. the highlight though was the amazing dessert, a brownie with ice cream.
The ambiance is very business crowd oriented.

Fun local Brewery in Des Moines. Great place to have dinner before a show at the Civic Center! The steak salad was delicious and our service was excellent!

We enjoyed lunch here today after walking around the farmers market. The Kolsch was perfect and the Cranberry Club W/sweet potato fries were filling.

My favorite restaurant and bar downtown! The service is always excellent. Food is great, the pizza is always a good idea. Their craft beer is very good and has a wide selection to choose from.

Tonight I went with the fried chicken salad, and it was very yummy.

Court Avenue Restaurant & Brewing is one of my must stop places whenever I’m in Des Moines. The jambalaya is delicious and the wings are great. Bathroom is clean and a great place to snap a quick selfie so all your followers know you’re in town and at one of your favorite places in the Des Moines area.

We had an excellent time at Court Avenue last night! It was a Saturday night during Des Moines' October fest. We made reservations online, but I must've some of wrong because their system showed 2 instead of 6. However they were able to seat us right away anyway. We sat outside which was a gated sidewalk patio that was open to the VERY active and festive street atmosphere. We all enjoyed our food very much. Cocktails were delicious, too. Our server was fantastic as well.

Fun place with friendly staff. The jumbalaya is great and their beers aren't bad, either!

Came here for DJ Bingo brunch and had a great time. It was my birthday and I actually won bingo on my birthday! Clayton was amazing, he was super attentive, super friendly and super knowledgeable of the menu. He even went above and beyond to help me get sangria to go even though the only put beer to go in crowlers. It was fun and the servers were friendly and fast! Love it! I met o many friendly regulars here it's such a homely and friendly environment thank you! Clayton should get a raise, and Lindsey was amazing as well , she definitely picked up slack and got me exactly what I wanted and how I wanted my drink order. She's awesome.. this place is awesome, I love it!

Today, I want to thank Jess and the kitchen staff for correcting a minor mistake on my behalf with my online order. However, with some communication and being on the same page my lunch was a success. Thank for understanding and taking care of my order. It's appreciated on this Friday, cause I'm working hard at the office and I needed something good to eat. My loaded grill chicken sandwich was the bomb!!! Thanks again for the GREAT SERVICE!!!!

We had a soccer team dinner here and it was fantastic. They hosted 40 of us like it was no big deal. The space was awesome the service was great and we loved the food and drink. I would definitely recommend this place for your group event.

Trivia on Wednesday night in the bar was so amazing! We are from out of town and thought it would be fun to have a trivia night out in des moines. Kaylee was our server and made the experience epic!! Recommended the best pineapple shot. Kelly was the manager and even gave us Iowa beer t shirts knowing we were from out of town. It was such a fun night. Highly recommend. 💯

First time in Des Moines, looking to try some local brews. Found this place. The restaurant area was slow and looked boring, but the bar side was just what I was looking for. Perfect atmosphere. I tied the sampler flight of the house brews(8 5ounce for 17.99) the love and double were two favorites for something different. I also had the maple butter burger, cooked perfectly and very delicious!

We caught the football game tonight and enjoyed dinner and drinks in the bar. Food was great. My husband and I split the Thai pizza.

Horrible service. Waiter did not bring drinks until prompted twice. Took 3 attempts and 10 minutes to get correct salad dressing. Out to celebrate a birthday and wasn't anything good to celebrate. Had 5:45 reservation for 4 and was after 7 before bill arrived. Never brought printed receipt as requested.

This is one of our mainstays when passing through Des Moines. The food is good. The price is right and the staff is always helpful and personable... What more could you ask for?

This time we had the curry pizza... It didn't disappoint.

We had a large party of 4 adults and 7 children, and our server (Brent) was funny, patient and helpful. We enjoyed sampling the drinks and Brent made everyone feel comfortable ordering any drink they wanted even if it was not beer, which is not often my experience at a brewery. Any requests we had to leave out onions or add tuna to a salad were met without hesitation and the food was fantastic.

The cranberry club was good, but I'd prefer some of the other options, especially the Maple Butter Burger and classic CabCo Sandwich. At the time of this review, a handful of IPAs were on tap. The server was nice enough to let me sample a few and they were all fantastic and unique. As always, would recommend this place for their variety of food and underrated beer.

I worked for CABCo for almost 7 years. I throughly enjoyed my time working at this restaurant as I basically grew into an adult here. I recently lost my mom in April and she always loved my left overs I would bring home (especially the wings). Owner Scott Carlson and GM Neil Stone reached out to me and offered my family and I a private table and dinner to enjoy our time how we wanted. My family and I were able to celebrate my sisters 18th birthday comfortably and happy. Of course the food and mules were spot on per usual. Additionally, our server Brent gave us space to talk but also kept the night fun and entertaining. Thanks again!
