Starch Pet Hospital

We took our dog and cat in a few weeks ago. Our cat needed a yearly checkup and our dog needed bloodwork. As usual we get the BEST service starting from the receptionist, front desk staff and the vet’s are amazing. We have a Pit Bull and Starch vets have never muzzled him and they just love on him with treats and hugs! Starch is the only place we trust for our pets!

Had a fantastic experience with Starch. Super friendly staff, clean, and knowledgeable vet. So happy to be with them. They even had this welcome sign with my dogs’ name (because they’re both new)

I just recently brought my dogs to this vet for the first time. I was blown away with their kindness and understanding. One of my dogs is gets so anxious at the vet and they did AMAZING with him. It was the most efficient and safe vet visit I have ever had.

The only vet I’ll take my retrievers to! They are the best and priced very reasonably for the level of care and attention they give my pups! Would recommend to anyone in the greater dsm area to check them out!

I was looking for a new vet closer to my home and Starch can highly recommended. They did not disappoint! Cooper did great.

I absolutely love this clinic. They are very thorough when answering your questions. They actually take the time to note things so they know for the next visit. From the front staff who reminds us what to do before surgery, checking us in and letting us wait in the car until a room opens (because my puppy gets to excited) the techs who are so patient and so attentive to the vet who sat and explained everything and was very knowledgeable. I appreciate and recommend this clinic. They also send out friendly reminders witch is so nice too! I’d say they are pretty reasonable with their pricing as well.

I love Starch. They really care about my dogs. Doctor Stoner is so nice and really listens to my crazy dog mom worries and actually cares to answer the dumb things I ask about even though they typically are small things. The front office staff and nurse helpers are always so super nice too. When I lost one of my dogs last year the care they took through ever aspect of the situation was amazing. I won’t take my fur kids anywhere else

Vet tech Alex and the veterinarian were wonderful with my Kitty. Very kind and Caring as always when I visit the office. Highly recommend

This Pet Hospital was so good to us last week when we were scrambling to find some answers on our cats tail which ended up having to be amputated. After several calls to vets that left us feeling so helpless and discouraged we did not give up. We seeked their help through the ARL of Iowa after realizing this was not a surgery we could afford at the time. The Vet and her staff were all so helpful and sympathetic during the whole process. We are so grateful for all their help because our baby Galaxy is now recovering from his surgery. We will definitely recommend all of our loved ones with their furry babies to this Pet Hospital. Dr. Takes was very kind and comforting yet professional. She genuinely was concerned about my cat and was willing to try several options to cure my cat's illness. HIGHLY recommend Starch.

We had a very nice experience with Starch. Got right in, didn't have to wait long at all. Dr. Taxkis came in and examined my cat, gave him a clean bill of health and we were out in less than a half an hour. Very nice experience!

Had the help I needed to get Cowboy into and out of the building. Didn’t wait too long. Cowboy relaxed once in the exam room and out of his carrier! He was very happy to meet his new vet!
Learned how much he actually weighs! And confirmation was given that he is most likely a Maine Coone/Munchkin mix!
Also purchased medicine for his eyes!
I was very pleased with the caring service I’ve always been given at Starch’s!

They made our appointment for the tech to come out to our vehicle to give my dog his regular allergy shot. At this time Im very nervous to bring him into a public area or place where dogs are because of the untreatable respiratory virus which has a lot of uncertainties along with it. I just feel it's smart to take precautions when I know this pup wouldn't be a great candidate for anything respiratory.
With all of that said, they without a problem came right out into our vehicle and gave it to him there :) I was very much thankful!! Thank you so so very much!!

I love all the veterinarian staff there—always nice and professional. Excellent at their jobs. I’m always happy with their care of my dogs over the years.

Very knowledgeable with French bulldogs and their needs. So patient, Informative and caring. Dr. Kay took her time with exams and explaining things. I did not feel rushed. Glad I found them.

Dr. Trevino is fantastic. I love how knowledgeable she is and I have no doubt that her focus is all about providing the best care for our pets: 2 dogs, 2 cats and our pet duck. Dr. Trevino is very kind and compassionate and always makes me feel like I’m her number one priority regardless of the many beloved pets she cares for throughout the day. We have a two year old Holland Lop. It is a HUGE challenge to find veterinarians who care for rabbits. We have had two emergency situations with GI Stasis that sneaks up on rabbits quickly and is deadly if it is not treated in a timely fashion. The staff at Stark has fit us in both times. This last time they were incredibly busy! Their lobby was FULL! Dr. takes still saw us anyway and was very kind to me. Our family brought Opal into our lives during the pandemic and we love her so much. Admittedly, some days she and our golden retriever are my only source of joy. I don’t know what I would do without them. Highly recommend Dr. Takes and their staff at Stark. Opal is showing signs of improvement. Thank goodness! She is up for cuddles this morning! ❤ Thank you, Dr. Takes, you are incredibly kind.

I have been taking my pup to Starch for 3 years. They take good care of my pup and I could not be more grateful. Thank you for always grooming him and making sure he is safe.

I can't say enough about Dr. Takes. I spent a lot of time trying to find a vet who would look at my guinea pigs. Bless her for helping these little pets. Also she couldn't be more helpful and friendly. I hope she stays with the clinic for a long time.

Definitely a great local vet clinic! I've been taking my cat here for years, and we've always received great care. She was recently seen by Jake Green. He was patient and took the time to answer all my questions - It's always busy inside and running a little behind, but that's expected at a vet office!
