Manhattan Deli

We have been here 3 times this year and every time has been nothing short of amazing! They have a ton of sandwiches to choose from and the absolute best peanut butter brownie. I have to get one every time we go here. My husband says their chili is the best he’s had. Definitely a staple sandwich shop and nice hole in the wall place to eat.

Des Moines has amazing food. Manhattan Deli is the best sandwich shop in town. Service is always fast. The Mama Mia is my favorite, but all the sandwiches are tasty.

Such good sandwiches! Sometimes people working are kinda grumpy…but worth it for the yummy food. Get anxiety ordering because I always feel rushed so almost always get the same thing. So if you are an anxious person just look at menu ahead of time.

Some of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had. The Manhattan was only $9.99 and it was nice, warm and cheesey. The service was great - super friendly, informative and fast. Plenty of places to sit as well. This is the place to go for deli sandwiches in Des Moines. Just make sure that you read the menu closely and know exactly what you're ordering. Highly recommend!

Can’t wait to try more! Had the Wednesday Special when I stopped in for lunch. It was so good, filled with meat, toppings and hot peppers. Delicious flavor too. There are so many options to try and can keep discovering more favorites. The place looked well-maintained, tables and booths were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Like I said, can’t wait to try more amazing sandwiches!

Fantastic sandwich shop! Delicious offerings and a very expansive menu. The side dishes were really good, if you're in the Des Moines area, and want a fantastic sandwich, make the stop here. Parking in the rear so don't fear!

First timer but not a last timer! I got the Hula Girl sandwich and it was a delicious, refreshing, juicy, and full of flavor! Go try it today!

I am in parking lot writing the review because it’s that damn good. WOW this is the best sandwich I have ever had literally. I did not know this place was here and I have been missing out. Everything is fresh, made with care and the staff was so friendly wow. I will now eat here everyday.

Even though it was lunch time. The line moved fast. And no one was in a mood or grumpy for waiting. Food was excellent. Pasta salad also delicious. My Blue Bird sandwich was delicious. Did not disappoint!!

I had the Tuesday Special. Very unique sandwich but tasty. I want to visit this establishment again soon.

A Des Moines classic! Cannot go wrong with any of the sandwiches here but the Zach Johnson and Tuesday special have been my go-tos for an entire decade. Great spot!

Had the Vito and a Mama Mia. The sandwiches are amazing with generous portions of meat and spicy peppers. I'm so glad we detoured as we passed through.

Retaining an old-school feel, delivering modern and classic flavours. Hands down, the best sandwich I’ve had in decades. Beautifully tender beef, just enough capacollo and great fresh cheese and peppers. Just terrific!

Manhattan Deli has been a favorite for years! The street construction around it has been a real nuisance but the employees don’t let that get them down. They are always courteous,fast and accurate with orders. It’s by far the best place for real deli in Des Moines. It’s New York style deli (without the NY attitude) served Iowa nice.

Just what you think a Manhattan deli would be. I love the Weekend Sandwich with the turkey. One of the best I've had anywhere. 😌

The Bambino was amazing, the crab salad too. This place is a new favorite on rotation!

I love this place it is way better than firehouse Subway jersey Mike's etc has so many options of meats and breads and the bread is so soft they have options of chips desserts soups and drinks my favorite sandwich is the hula girl and favorite soup is the loaded potato highly recommend
