Love meeting my friends here for lunch. The food is delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and served quickly! I like that they serve a mixture of comfort food from all around the world!

The grocery store is also a great place to stop for all of your organic, dietary-restricted needs, as well as a place where you can find a lot of ingredients you won't see in run-of-the-mill stores.

Good vegan options, clearly marked. The tofu banh mi was especially delicious. The vegetarian chili was filling and delicious. I like the variety of hot sauces they keep on hand. This is a great place to meet up with a group.

Heath food grocery store with a restaurant built in. Was really impressed. Big wine section in the back.

I just love Gateway market! I am so glad that I don’t live close by. Otherwise I would spend all of my money there. I love stopping whenever I have to be in the downtown area for chicken tortilla soup! The salad bar a hot case bar is so amazing. You have to pick up the focaccia bread which is brought in fresh daily. They have a $10 wine section with some amazing wine choices.

My kids love stopping in there because they have an entire section of gummy candies and of course we are obsessed with the homemade monster cookies !!!

There is no way that you would be disappointed if you stopped for lunch or groceries at Gateway market !

Been going for over a decade, and they have consistently served amazing food for a low price. Service is typically quick and positive, and the store is great for buying small groceries on the go.

Always top notch! My go-to when other downtown locations leave me hungry! Tonight was no exception. Big Grove Brewery left us hungry and we arrived with two starved squirrely kids, no plan. With 10 minutes, everyone had a plate arrive. Patrons are even nice - they never roll eyes when my 5 year old acts like....a 5 year old. Bathrooms are even clean!

Have fun going here with our coffee group. Nice atmosphere, warm fireplace. Nice selection of food and drinks. After visiting, you can do some market shopping. Stocked very well.

Honestly everything on their menu is pretty tasty I’ve been eating here for quite a few years now. I highly recommend that everyone tries their onion rings. They are super crispy and the seasoning is unreal.

The spinach artichoke dip is probably one of the best I’ve had. And there is this sauce that is otherworldly on the onion rings! (I recommend the maple mustard and Cajun aioli) I love this place. Always quality food.

Love this neighborhood market! Such high vibes and healthy yet delicious food. They always have exactly what I need & I LOVE their cafe too.

Visited Gateway Market Cafe on a Monday afternoon. It was packed, but had a solid lunch crowd. Had a burger with quinoa salad and fries. The food was great, and the quinoa salad was the real star. Food is focused on wholesome ingredients, so you feel good after you leave (except the scotcheroo I had for dessert).

Amazing food! Best cod I have eaten in a while. Service slow a lot of employees in the front of the kitchen standing around! I would say a lil overstaffed.

Wow! Wonderful selection of mouth-watering menu items fit for every taste. I feared for a long wait in the Sunday lunch rush but our food came out fast and delicious! Pick up your groceries on the way out!

I have been to Gateway Market for lunch and for shopping many times. It's a wonderful store/Cafe and management is great.

We always stop at Gateway Market whenever we're visiting Des Moines. There is an excellent selection of fresh nutritious foods. The staff are friendly and dining area is very nice.

Jhalesh, in the flower department, went above and beyond my expectations to make a beautiful, summer bouquet for my sister’s birthday. Gateway’s flower selection is so unique and fresh. No carnations and babies breath here. I asked for summer, farmers market style bouquet and it was full of sunflowers and zinnias, amaranth, lilies and dahlias. I will definitely do all my flower deliveries from Gateway now.

Their buffet food is really good. Great pasta selection, too.

I have a dairy allergy, and they have a great variety of dairy substitutes, as well as fresh produce and products that you cannot find everywhere.

I would recommend getting the spicy pork belly ramen. Nice and smokey with good flavor. I also enjoyed browsing the store.
