Downtown Pantry

Moved to Des Moines metro recently , The most handy and convenient market in the downtown area !! Everyday staples and stuff you don't find elsewhere !! Good prices and helpful & sharp owner's and staff!!! plus close access to skywalk.

Now that Kaleidoscope is closed, for any fans of Indian or Pakistani food, the Lzaza Indo-Pak restaurant has a buffet in their convenience store in the skywalk. For about $8 you can get great vegetarian & omnivorous options with naan. They also have made-to-order gyros and a full selection of convenience store options. Right next to the entrance to the Bank of America building where you would formally enter Kaleidoscope.

I like the people who work here, most of the time I was in a hurry and didn't see the grocery part and hot pockets in the coolers until a few visits later. the selection is good, energy drinks, juice, snacks

We needed a 6 pack of beer and some chips. They had both. They were nice and friendly. I'll be back.

It's my go to Bodega not far from my home.they have just about everything you need AND it's the only nearby joint to get my tobacco supplies cuz I make my own.

You know , there are few places where customer service is held as a high value. Both of these businesses do . “Nice” is hardly an adequate word. I remember a time when a person’s word was their bond and human values like trustworthiness were usual not special.
The folks at these businesses are clearly “old school” . The guy that wrote that scathing review like “ a liquor store with crappy groceries “ is clearly either talking about somewhere else, a person with no joy in his life or a mean-spirited a-hole . I guess the latter. Fella, did your Talleywacker grow another 1/16 of an inch? I know everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but although I am approaching 65, I remember what my mother said ,” if you don’t have something nice to say -ZIP IT!” At least offer criticisms that are edifying, that inspire growth or change. Your poison pen only poisons you.

Lzazza has been a life saver for daily lunches with recent closings of nearby restaurants. The food is incredible and the people are always SO nice! Additionally, their assortment of snacks, drinks, and daily essentials is on par for whatever hankering you might have.

All of the employees are super friendly the store is small but carries a good variety love going in and saying hi to everybody All of the employees always make me/you feel like you're very welcome

Always ask how my day is going or what my plans are for the weekend. Surprising amount of options to choose from and has been a great way to grab a quick snack to get through the day!

I lovey above the pantry. Only place downtown that is open late for snacks, liqour, and other convince store needs. Great service.
